"Room was large and felt grand but building itself felt old with some work needed for things like the windows and doors. The windows didn't stay open without using little pieces of wood that they provided, so wide open or just a crack weren't really options. The door lock was a bit sticky so if you did it gently the bolt didn't retract fully. The mosquitoes outside were terrible (unusual) and we kept finding more in our room throughout the night which we think were coming down the chimney, but it...

"We endured three nights in this place. The only positive is the owner and staff are nice enough. Some reviews called it rustic. I call it dilapidated and in need of a complete overhaul. Everything needs work. Even the sign out front to the place is falling apart. We were told our two bedroom was the best. I pity those who got the worst.
Needless to say, we would never stay here again and recommend anyone finding somewhere else.
We paid US$1100 which is overpriced by double. Even at half we would...

"This property & room was just as described by their website and the reviews. It was quite cozy, relaxing and very clean. After a long day of exploring it was just what we needed. The Rocky Mountain Soap products were also a nice touch, it felt like aromatherapy right before going to bed. I felt revived to take on the next day! Oh and they have cookies!"

The only negative is the trans Canada highway #1 down below the hotel so it’s really noisy on the balcony."

"The cabin was dated along with the furnishings but it was extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. It is about a 25 minute drive to Banff and Lake Louise and we had an awesome grizzly encounter right down the road on 1A with 3 grizzlies. The staff are great. There is a small grocery store that has essentials, beer, wine and the creamer you will need for your morning coffee provided."

"If you want elk walking up to your front door, then this is the place to stay! Tucked away from the crowds of Banff, the Rocky Mountain resort is a nice getaway destination. While the property is older, and not all amenities were operating (indoor hot tub was out of commission and the outdoor hot tub didn’t have working jets) the staff is lovely, food is great and the property has a lovely calm feel. They allow pets but they don’t allow them on the free shuttle (but the local cab companies do...
