    Van Dyke Street in Dewey Beach is close to the beach, near shops, and so much more. If you're looking for a great location and a renovated home, then look no further than the town home at Emerald Shoals 17D! This town-home rental is in the ocean block, just a few buildings away from the sand. From the roof-top deck, guests can even take in views of the Atlantic Ocean. Imagine enjoying your morning coffee with a view like that! Three stories make up this unit. On the first, where guests will enter from the rear, are two bedrooms that share a bathroom. On the second floor is the primary living area, which is open and spacious, flowing from end to end through the dining space and kitchen with a half bath. Finally, on the top floor, are the remaining two bedrooms and two bathrooms. If you're after outdoor living space, Emerald Shoals 17D has plenty of it! There are decks on the front and back of all levels including a screened-in porch on the second floor. The roof-top deck is accessible via this third-floor deck. The town-home provides off-street parking for two cars. This is a non-smoking unit, and pets are not permitted.

    All VRBO reservations are a booking request only until confirmed by Property Manager. You will be required to sign a Residential Lease Agreement and make your payment within the required deadlines provided or your booking request will be cancelled. As a property manager, we welcome “Special Event” rentals. All properties are individually owned and not all properties are available for “Special Event” rentals. Credit Card payments subject to 2% fee.

    A linen package can be purchased for your stay. The cost of the linen package for one week's stay is $253.50.

    Please note: Special Event Rentals are not permitted, this includes Rehearsal Dinners, Wedding Parties, Bachelorette Parties, Bachelor Parties, Graduation Parties/Beach Week, New Year's Celebrations, Engagement Parties and/or Group Parties of 4 or more unrelated guests.

Perfect spot for a family beach vacation

After coming to Dewey Beach for several years just us, my husband and I invited our families to join us this year. This house was the perfect spot: super clean, lots of outdoor spaces, enough beds for everyone, etc. But nothing can beat its proximity to the beach and all of the restaurants that Dewey has to offer! We would definitely look into staying here again!

Nice house on beach block

Nice comfortable house in walking distance to everything in Dewey. Came here for a winter getaway and had a nice time, although it definitely needs a larger hot water heater, we had to stagger showers in order to not run out of hot water mid shower. Minor issues with this house are there are no doors between the three floors so all the cold air settles to the ground floor and the upper floors are warm.

Great week at the beach

Very nice beach townhouse. End unit. Good mattresses. Awesome screened in deck right off the kitchen for outdoor meals. Can see both the ocean and bay from the front decks and rooftop deck. Good common areas on the main level. All around great stay for our party of seven.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My experience at first was very frustrating as our reservation from the prior year was not entered on the exit of our agent. We lost our usual week and had to scramble to pick a new one. Our new agent was very nice and very helping in finding us a new week. Unfortunately most of our party had to leave early in the week due to prior obligations but hopefully next year we are back on track. We absolutely love the property we stay in and definitely didn’t want to go anywhere else.

The only problem we had was a leak from the HVAC on a rainy night. We could not use one bed because it was wet. The issue was resolved the next day.

We have always had good service and particularly Joseph G. has served above and beyond expectation. The property was renovated in 2022 and it was excellent. The floors and paint and several other amenities made it much nicer than the previous year (Which was ok as well). We had a small problem with the dryer and Joseph worked to resolve it quickly. it is on the beach block so it was good for our little ones. they had nice beach chairs and the outdoor shower (also upgraded) was great for the kids -and adults.

Since we were there after Labor Day there was a lot of work to be done. A little more should be done in season 2 keep it up in shape. The to6aster was broken the hose nozel in the outside shower was broken.the faucet on the third floor bathroom didn't work a toilet and a third-floor bathroom didn't work properly. The screen door on deck did not close. The screens were ripped on the door and in multiple other places. These were just the main issues.

Nice place, but...

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really liked the lay out and all of the balconies at 17D Emerald Shoals. We also liked how so many restaurants were in walking distance. But there is a major ant problem in this condo. First, we found a lot on the roof top deck. Then I found more in both of the bathrooms on the 3rd floor. The worst was at the end of the week when an unopened box of crackers in the kitchen cabinet was totally infested with ants! We knew there was probably a problem when we saw ant traps all over the kitchen as well as ant spray under the sink.There was also a very odd aroma on the ground floor, maybe urine? But also, this was probably already known since there was a can of room spray on the bench as soon as we walked in. The place needs to be fumigated and really needs to be freshened up with a good cleaning and some paint.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this 3 story condo since we had 14 people vacationing. There was enough move around space and perfect distance to the beach. It's further from Rehoboth than we would have liked, but great for first time beach kids. The home wasn't cleaned well considering there was food on the floor and chairs (neighbor said cleaning svc was only there a cpl min). The frig is loud and the first floor smelled of cat litter, but all things manageable.

Understandably there will always be something not up to someone’s expectations which is rare when we arrive. This year when we arrived the cleaning crew had left their cleaning supplies (windex) one in the refrigerator and one in the bedroom along with their uses towels. The refrigerator has a very weak seal and we lost some food but no big deal, we just had to make sure everyone knew to push it shut and make sure it was closed. The first floor bedroom bed is horrible- but the couch is super comfy! We love Sally and coldwell banker- she makes it so easy for us every year and we will continue to return! I’m a bit of a clean freak so I clean when we arrive anyway- and make sure it’s cleaner than we found it before we leave!

Very clean, well stocked and great location!

This was our first time staying at 17D but won't be our last. Our family has vacationed in Dewey for 15 years and typically stayed north in Rehoboth by the Sea. We needed more room as the family grows and wanted close to the beach. This house had everything we needed! Our favorite part was the screened porch for breakfast and happy hours with plenty of cross breeze and no bugs! The rooftop deck was also a hit at sunset. The checkin process was so smooth and easy, too. Definitely consider this place, just not the week we want next year!

Great beach house

This was a great house for a family beach vacation. The house was well located, close to the beach, restaurants, ice cream shop. We were pleasantly surprised to find beach toys and chairs, and the kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed. We had a wonderful week there and hope to return to Dewey Beach in the future.
