"Good hotel if you like fade charm. The Group were on 2nd 3rd floor these were ok esp 2nd floor. Rooms below entrance (downstairs) were not so good per part of group that were here last year. On each floor spectacular lounge areas to meet up. Outside over looking sea also very good. Some one in group had been to Waldorf Astoria NY some years ago as part of cruise deal. "Shocking hotel! The room was filthy and in a really bad state of repair. We refused to stay in the first room they gave us which was in the roof space. I don't understand how hotels are allowed to operate like this. If it was a restaurant they would be shut down by the foog hygiene agency. It ruined our weekend. I will be emailing the hotel directly with photos of the room. Would the owners stay in these rooms? I think not. Even the grand staircases are filthy."

"Great position, we managed to park outside near the Travelodge before walking to the hotel. Very friendly welcome. We booked the small room which was very nice, queen size bed, safe in the room, free bottled water, kettle and lavazza coffee machine. Great shower, heated up very quickly, quality shower gel, shampoo conditioner and hand lotion. Free hot drinks in the lounge via machine. Free cookies after 4pm! After our meal out, we came back for a coffee and a hot chocolate. Free films...

Every member of staff was pleasant & helpful especially on the front desk for checking in & out. "Furniture and fittings very antiquated. Bedding very old and worn, bed linen did not look clean and fresh. Bathroom shower looks as if mould growing around base, not hot water to the basin, towels very worn and ruff. Breakfast very poor, left on landing to help yourself, cereal and fruit only not worth the payment charged. Parking not easy and very limited particularly for the larger car. Expedia stated only one room left that clearly was not the situation. Definitely not value for money."
