"Unfortunately this stay was not enjoyable at all. The place overall is very run down, the bed is an old springy bed with huge "roll together" and so soft you end up touching the base. The air conditioning didn't work, the windows hardly open at all due to security reasons and the room was stifling hot and very stuffy which resulted in next to no sleep. She would have been stunning in her day, but it's long, long gone. Not worth the money."

"Group of us stayed at the hotel after we had a work meeting on site. Excellent communication beforehand and it was an easy day all round with arrangements. Rooms were all good, modern and clean and dinner in the restaurant was enjoyed by all that night. We will be using it again for future team get togethers."

"Quick check in, we asked for a room at the back, we were given room 8. Nice room, comfy bed, pillows a little flat. Lovely shower room with waterfall shower, nice toiletries. It was a very hot day when we checked in, so the room of course was hot, we opened the windows. Had our meal in the hotel, we shared a ploughman's platter with a couple of extra sides which was very nice. Also bought a bottle of wine. We sat outside after the meal to look at the lovely view. "Right on the doorstep of the Yorkshire Dales sets an idyllic location for this friendly pub/ hotel. Very friendly welcome with exceptional hospitality. The room was clean and of a good size, a very comfortable stay and the staff could not be more helpful. This property is also very pet friendly. Highly recommended "

"Booked for parents to celebrate fathers 80th. Accomadated a last minute change to more accessible room and late afternoon food. They both really enjoyed stay and could not say enough about quality of staffing and overall experience!"

"Arrival was easy, nobody manning reception but was not a problem, key left on the side clearly labelled and clear instructions etc. Room clean and well presented, good amenities, including tea, coffee, fresh milk etc. Room not perfectly blackout with some streetlight coming in round the side of the curtains, and a faint green light from the fire exit sign, not something that bothers me as I sleep with my eyes closed, but some day dreamers might want a blindfold. "Didn’t like having the risk of leaving the key in the separate though private bathroom. No staff available. Though we didn’t use the Lounge or cutlery/ crockery the amenities nay well be useful for others. Place ok for a budget stay. Area was beautiful"
