"Mario was a great bird guide, but the tour was only on the property. It would be nice to have night tours and birding trips off the property. The internet service could have been better. The food was good, and the staff was helpful."

"Highly recommend The Retreat hotel! It was gorgeous and the views breath taking. The staff was very attentive and kind. Will definitely go again. The tours were over priced though. ~400 per tour and while the locations were beautiful it was not worth that much money. Also note there is no food you can buy except for in the restaurants there. So grab some snack at the airport. But highly recommend this place. Even in the rainy season it was amazing "

The pool is beautiful. The view is spectacular. The tea room was such a pleasant place to watch the sunset. Food was excellent and service was prompt and friendly. "If you’re planning to escape the city’s chaos, this is the perfect place to do it. Waking up to the soothing sounds of birdsong and the gentle cascading of a waterfall is an incredible experience. The staff, including Eric and Carla, are incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. The only inconvenience is that it’s located far from everything and everyone. "This is a lovely place and it was a treat to wake up to this glorious view. The host is a friendly and kind person - we enjoyed meeting him. There are some downsides: its a steep set of stairs to get to the place - worth it, for us, but worth noting. Also the pool is not heated, and in January was too cold to go in. There is a fantastic Italian restaurant a 3 min drive from this place - you have to go there for the fantastic food and the jaw-dropping view "
