"We have stayed in the area several times before, further down the road by Playa Biesanz, and remembered passing La Mariposa on our way to town, so this trip decided to give it a try. It’s conveniently located near shops and restaurants but is still quiet enough to have plenty of wildlife on the property. We saw not one but TWO sloths on the property, and both Capuchin and Squirrel Monkeys, not to mention the adorable Agouti that played near our patio. Then there are the birds…. So many! ...

I saw more wildlife here than on all of the nature tours I went on put together. I saw 3 different types of monkey, iguanas and lots of birds including the striking fiery-billed toucan. "

"Clean room, newly renovated bathroom, has air conditioner. It is at top of mountain so the view from room and dining area is great! Breakfast has fresh fruit and traditional dishes. Very friendly staff. We saw squirrel monkeys and capuchin monkeys during the guided walk. Parking space is limited but we never had a problem finding a place to park. Highly recommend!"

"What an amazing vacation we had. After 5 days most of the staff had become good friends. It was sad to say goodbye to them. The location is stunning too with 180 degree views of 2 beaches. Outside our room we had a monkey highway as each morning 10 monkeys would walk across the vines outside our room. The wildlife are real happy there as we saw sloths, friendly lizards and lots of monkeys. And last but not least, the food was amazing at both restaurants. We cant wait to return!"

"Darlene “Dar” was #1 at check in and on check out. She keeps the hotel rolling!! At breakfast we chose a different 1-4 options each morning to see the difference. Each one was great, if I had to choose I’d select the pancakes with scrambled eggs. Room was always clean each day when we returned from our daily venture. Dont miss the happy hr by the pool in the garden from 4-6. "
