We loved our stay! We were especially pleased to find a fully stocked kitchen. We're were able to cook our family a lovely meal, set a beautiful table, and enjoy our time together. We'll be back!

We were so pleased to stay in this lovely historic West End home. We wanted to be in our old neighborhood and it was just perfect for our needs. The house is decorated with beautiful antiques and is a nice safe welcoming neighborhood. The yard was beautifully kept, and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you so much for our visit. We will be back in October!

My sister and I loved the cozy feeling of this historic property. Penny provides many added touches that enhanced our stay. We loved that she decorated for Christmas! It was the perfect place to come home to after a day of shopping! We will definitely stay there again next year!

Penny was absolutely hands down every bit of a gracious host. The space was inviting, centrally located and peaceful. There is everything you could need for your stay. We are looking forward to calling Decatur our home soon enough and looking forward to the hospitality like Penny offered. Comfortable bed, fully stocked kitchen, refill of anything that you use. Just come with your suitcase and enjoy the weather, sun and neighborhood.

Short stay, Great location...

Two night stay for an event. Wonderful neighborhood. Perfect location for Millikin visits, sightseeing home base, etc. and minutes to just about every place in Decatur.Next time we're in Decatur, will definitely book.

Great place!

My husband and I stayed here with our 1 year old. The home is clean and cozy. Checking in was effortless. The home is in a quiet location in between two lovely neighbors. Plenty of space for our baby to roam around - with an added retractable gate near the basement stairs for safety! Highly recommend if visiting the area.

My Mother’s 100 BDay Celebration

Property was perfect for my families stay in Decatur to attend my mother’s birthday. We had 5 adults, a 5 yr old and 4 month old. Penny had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable including snacks. Will definitely look into staying there again if the need arises.

Peaceful and Relaxing

I had a great stay here. Love the comforting home feeling of it all. Had everyhting I needed plus more. Slept well with plenty of beds. Mrs Penny comes if anything extra is needed from her. Very kind. Thank you so much for making me feel welcomed!

Visiting family on vacation

Our family enjoyed this historic home near Milliken University. It was so nice to have a place to "come home to" during our time in Decatur. This home gave us plenty of room to comfortably relax and I enjoyed having a kitchen and dining room for meals. Our host responded promptly to any inquiries. I would definitely consider staying again. Thank you!

We had a great stay at your property while attending a family member funeral. The following are my comments: Rug in dinning area needs to be cleaned because it had an older musty smell. Wood floors throughout house should to be mopped and waxed.

Lovely & Comfortable Victorian with Great Amenities

The house is nestled in the historic and quaint west end where no two houses look alike. My favorite things about the house? The screened in sunroom, back patio, updated kitchen….basically everything…It’s beautifully decorated throughout AND comfortable. The host, Penny, has a wealth of information about Decatur. She was incredibly helpful and down to earth. This house and owner are a rare find😁!

We were pleasantly surprised with stocked items, some K cups, cream & sugar packs, and snacks, in addition to makeup wipes. Plenty of towels and cooking utensils as well. The beds were comfortable and the furniture was plentiful. We enjoyed the sun room in the morning to watch hummingbirds and breathe in the morning air.

Everything was very clean and comfortable! The kitchen was well equipped, and the towels were plush and clean. We appreciated the fans in the bedrooms, as well as the extra supplies in the bathroom (makeup removers and cotton balls). The neighborhood was safe and quiet as well. Five of us met there as a college reunion and will return yearly from now on! We highly recommend this home.

Mrs Penny was an amazing host! Always responsive and answered all questions. We absolutely loved the house and it had anything you can think of needing while you are there. The neighborhood is nice and quite and you are close to so many things to eat and entertainment as well! Thank you for hosting us! Will be in touch if we come back to the area!
