First thing to note when planning a trip to Daufuskie Island is there is NO Bridge. To reach our island you must book a ferry, water taxi or come by your own boat. Once on the island you’ll need grounds transport from your arrival dock to your JonBie Maisons vacation home. JonBie Maisons has options listed for both ferry/water taxi and transport providers and will be happy to make recommendations based on your travel arrangements.

Ocean Serenity guests will enjoy access to amenities: pool, gym, courts (pickleball, volleyball, etc.)

When you arrive at Ocean Serenity Cottage in beautiful Melrose Cottage Owners Association you'll feel the world slip away, and, the serene peacefulness of the ocean waves and secluded beach will wash over you. Enjoy. This 4 Bedroom, 4 Bath, professional decorated and well appointed cottage will be your home away from home with every need met during your stay. The cottage kitchen is stocked with cookware, appliances, dishware, etc. fit for Thanksgiving dinner. And dinner can be enjoyed at the inside great room dining or setup on the screened ocean front porch for a spectacular al fresco dining experience.

The interior of the cottage is open and spacious living/dining/kitchen area that is great for family and friend time. The cottage includes TVs in the living room and all bedrooms. WIFI is Free during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped with full size stainless steel appliances, garbage disposal, dishwasher, and stocked Coffee/Tea, making meal preparation easy for you and your family throughout your stay - even Holidays!

A laundry room with full size washer and dryer is also available to make island life more convenient and comfortable.

A golf cart is also included with your booking. Information for reserving additional carts will be provided at booking GAS CARTS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED AT ALL JONBIE COTTAGES & VILLAS.

Great

Had a great stay. The property is about 15 minutes by golf cart from any marina but its a great drive with lots of wildlife. Beach front access was great for the kids. We will be back!

Serene beachfront cottage

Spectacular cottage on peaceful Daufuskie Island beachfront! We enjoyed long walks along the beach with no crowds. The sunrises and moonrises were amazing. We enjoyed days exploring the island and evenings talking around the fire pit. Tammy and Kurt were very responsive to any questions that we had & all the residents that we met were very kind. Will definitely come back!!

Great experience

We loved our stay. The house was just as advertised. It was very clean and someone met us at the house when we arrived. Kitchen missing a few basic cooking supplies but we managed. House manager was quick to respond to questions or concerns. We loved the ease of getting to the beach with very few others on the beach. Gentle waves and lots of great shells. Found a lot of hermit crabs, sand dollars and starfish. Definitely bring everything you need as stores have very limited and expensive supplies. We have already booked to go back to the same house next year.

Dafuskie Girls Weekend

We loved the house and our stay on Dafuskie. The host and her husband were extremely friendly and helpful with all things from the initial booking to going home. The house was clean and accommodated 10 girls well! One draw back was the house is advertised as having a well stocked kitchen and we were cooking for most our meals but the kitchen did lack some basics for preparing full dinners. We improvised and enjoyed 3 home cooked meals! We had many laughs and made great memories. We will be returning and most likely to this very house!

Great house. Great location.

We loved our stay. The host greeted us and informed us of all the island had to offer. Plenty of room for two families. Beautiful views. Appreciated the beach toys, chairs and towels. We would definitely return to this house.

Lovely and spacious home - convenient for our family to live together under one roof!

The hosts were responsive and most helpful in making us comfortable. They recommended island businesses to contact and enjoy, such as Daufuskie Life, which we contracted to meet our family of 8 at Melrose dock to transport us and our belongings to Ocean Serenity and provided a second golf cart for us to use, as well. We enjoyed sharing sunrise adventures with our grandchildren while exploring the beach at low tide and many trips around the island during our stay. The bicycles for us to use were wonderful, as well.

Fabulous vacation!

We had a marvelous family vacation over Fourth of July! House was even more beautiful than in the pictures, hosts were excellent communicators and greeted us on arrival to our home. Daufuskie Life provided seamless transportation from the ferry and golf carts were waiting for us and ready to go at the house. We can’t wait to come back!

Love This House

This beautiful house on Daufuskie Island met our expectations and so much more. Very clean and spacious. We loved seeing the ocean from the screen porch. We explored on the golf cart and bikes that were provided with the rental. The island is full of deer and fox squirrels. We even saw a few armadillos and alligators. Frye’s chicken was our favorite eatery. We took a private boat to get to the island. Captain Jimbo was punctual and friendly, giving us lots of information about the island. We would definitely go back again, in fact we are already booked for next year.

Finally Away

We travel a lot as a large family. It is nice to be able to find a space that can comfortably fit everyone as well as have it be a true vacation get away. Away from the world and the crazy bustle of life. Amazing views with great wildlife and peace and quiet. And such friendly great people! A hidden secret!

Christmas on Daufuskie Island

As our visit coincided with the coldest of temperatures, we enjoyed our stay. And our hosts made accommodations adaptable to the conditions. I would very much enjoy another visit and would stay at this rental. If you are traveling during off season like we did, be sure to pack coolers with plenty of food. Milk and eggs are easy to obtain on the island.

Beautiful views, very well stocked, great location

We really enjoyed our stay and had 9 people total who could easily all be comfortable and there was so much to do! Owners were sooo responsive and even brought us a tinier bike for my daughter to ride! House was in great condition and couldn’t imagine a better sunrise view, even though I was working remotely.

Beautiful place!!

Overall my family and I really enjoy this property. The house was amazing! We enjoyed the extras (beach chairs, bikes and other toys). There was also plenty of space for all of us! The only complaint that I do have is that the floor was pretty dirty when we got there. I assume it’s hard to keep clean with all the sand. And I wish there had been a few more things in the kitchen to cook with! Other than the this really is a home away from home!

Loved that the island was remote and enjoyed its historical sites.

House was beautiful and located a short walk to the beach. Plenty of beach toys provided and the inclusion of a golf cart in the rental was a very thoughtful idea.

Nice Vacation

Good place, nice visit, nice views. Water wasn't hot enough in shower, golf cart batteries were told to be insufficient to explore the island, and to stay off dirt roads which were half the island and hosted most of the craftsmanship stores.

Amazing Memorial Day Getaway

Our family absolutely loved our stay at this property for a relaxing long holiday beach weekend. Fantastic location and the home suited all of our needs. Tammy is a great host and was super helpful and responsive to all requests. We plan to return again!

Beautiful Weekend

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Daufuskie! The weather was absolutely perfect! The house was beautiful and very roomy for all 8 of us ladies. Every morning we migrated out to the big screened in porch to drink coffee, watch the sunrise, and listen to the ocean. We loved it that only 2 people had to share the king size bed, all the rest of us each could have a very comfortable bed to ourselves. The house was well stocked with supplies. We did have problems with the dishwasher. Someone came out to look at it right away but it couldn't be fixed until the next week. One of our golf carts left us sit, a battery cable broke off, but a phone call to the host and they soon brought us a different golf cart to replace it. Our only complaint was finding pet hair on our clothes from the furniture and a gritty floor. In spite of that I would still love to come back and stay at this house!

Melrose Beach Review

The property was nice and near the beach. We weren't informed of the owner's policy of no gas golf carts until the day prior. Unfortunately one of the guests rented a gas cart from Daufuskie Tours who said they wouldn't take it back because gas is allowed on all parts of the island other than Haag Point. The kitchen is absolutely bare, so you have to make sure you are prepared to bring spices, aluminum foil, or anything that isn't knives or some basic pots and pans. The carafe for the coffee pot was also missing, so we had to wait until 9:00am for the coffee shop to open. This was resolved, but we also didn't have a dishwasher, and there was not place to really dry hand-washed dishes, so we were hurrying at the end of the day to get things clean.

Family Vacation

Our stay at Ocean Serenity was great. The house was close to the beach and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the paddle boards and bikes that were included in the rental. We are already planning our next trip back to Daufuskie.
