Oasis in the hills

A welcome book is located on the island as soon as you check in. Lots of helpful information to provide you the most relaxed stay you deserve. Thank you for choosing us. Just a friendly reminder, WE DO NOT charge per person, with this being said please be honest with how many in your party so we can plan accordingly for cleaning.

We love to invite you to a gorgeous custom log home tucked deep with in the Southern Hills. This property offers a stunning view for miles and 3 deck levels for viewing pleasure. You will enjoy the local wildlife as they track through the property. This home carries with it a relaxed, comfortable setting with plenty amenities. The open hand-hewn log loft offers a pub table, mini fridge, pool table, half bathroom, 65" tv and additional sleeping for 5. There are 3 twin beds and a full futon in the loft. The main level has complete kitchen, dining room and living room. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, utensils, tin foil, sandwich bags etc and your basic spices. We also have a regular drip coffee pot with coffee and filters included. We have two highchairs available for this home. There is a beautiful island with 4 stools and a dining room table that seats 6 on the main level. The propane grill (propane provided) is on the main level deck. Located on this level is the master bedroom, spacious walk in closet, bathroom with tub/shower. An additional room on this level is capable of accommodating two. There is a bathroom with attached laundry room for easy access. The lower level offers two queen bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. A large sectional couch with a 50” flat screen for entertainment and an adjacent social area. We have two full roll away beds located just down the hall. You will also find a pak n play and high chair located on this level. There are two security cameras on the property visible to guests. One is located at the front door to the left and the other is on the lower deck towards the swim spa which in NOT available to guests. This home is minutes from Custer offering a great Black Hills experience for families and more. Minutes from Custer State Park, Needles Hwy, Wind Cave National park and then some. Unfortunately the hot tub located on this property is NOT available for guest use. We are sorry for any inconvenience. We do have a large area available for additional rates to host your next family event, wedding, graduation, reunion. We have tables and chairs provided. Inquire with property manager for additional information.

Very neat and beautiful log 3 level cabin that worked great for our family of 13. Grandsons loved the pool table and we allloved sitting on the decks in the evening. Also enjoyed a couple campfires she made very easy for our 1st Vrbo experience!

This is a fantastic property for a large group. We enjoyed wildlife each evening and Hot Air Balloons early morning. Beds were very comfortable and cleanliness was terrific.

Kelly and Curtis were amazing hosts! Our extended family of 9 stayed at Peaceful Pines July 26-Aug 2 2025. We had plenty of room and nice space for gathering all together between our outings. This location was PERFECT for our needs. We went to the Badlands prior to check in, then each day following check in we visited Jewel Cave, Wind Cave, Crazy Horse, and several trips to Custer and Sylvan Lake which were all very closely situated to the cabin. We also took day trips to Sturgis, Deadwood, Sprarfish Canyon amd Devil's Tower which were a reasonable drive. We loved the view, the layout, the additional bathrooms, and the grill the most! We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Kelly and Curtis!

Friend/Family Vacay!

We stayed at this beautiful cabin for a full week. Our group consisted of 7 adults and 7 kids (2 y.o.-12y.o.). The location was great for all the things we had planned. The house was clean, spacious, and the yard was great for the kiddos. We also enjoyed watching deer from the balcony just about every evening. Kelly was quick to respond and always so kind with each request. Definitely a great place to stay with the family or friends.

WOW. Just WOW.

We’ve stayed at numerous rental by owner homes from both companies…this one takes the cake. It was exactly as advertised….close to Custer and the park, quiet, serene and relaxing. The view of the Hills was spectacular. The home was perfectly clean and had every amenity that we needed. Much time was spent on the 3 decks conversing and enjoying the views. We enjoyed the firepit one night and had a ball enjoying the darkness of the Black Hills skies. Beds were great, bathrooms aplenty for our crew of 9 and common areas were large enough to spread out and relax. The upper level billiards room was perfect to use during an evening storm. All in all…this place is exactly as billed….an Oasis in the Hills.

Family lodging for 95 year old Mother’s bucket list trip to See Mount Rushmore.

This property was so beautiful and met all of our needs. The hosts were kind and quick to respond. They also quickly responded and replaced a shower head that wasn’t functioning properly. I would recommend this beautiful property to any large gathering. The only thing that would have made it better would have been having use of the hot tub on site and more firewood. Thank you Kelly

Beautiful cabin and property. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking essentials, plates and such. Host stayed in contact with me in weeks prior to stay and answered all questions. Family had great time in area. Would have been nicer if it hadn't rained the whole time but they don't have control over that.

Great cabin!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay at Oasis in the Hills. We used to live in the area so it was a wonderful place to relax and connect with family and friends. The cabin was great and we enjoyed the watching the neighboring horses and peaceful setting with a great view.

Close to town but secluded.

We've rented from this renter before and she is very easy to deal with. This cabin was large enough for 4 families, a 3rd shower would have been great but it was never an issue with just 2. Super nice and accomadating place for the large group though. It is close to Custer and on a paved road but sits nessled in a location that makes it seem as though your alone. Look forward to staying here again.

Fun in the Hills

The property was great. We enjoyed the yard playing lawn games and corn hole. We made s'mores using the fire pit and enjoyed the mountain views from the multiple decks. In the evening we sat out on the deck and watched the deer come down out of the pines. The house accommodated our family of 13 wonderfully. We had plenty of room in the kitchen area for making and serving meals. Loved the area and close distance to town. We would recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

Wonderful!!

The name says it all… Oasis in the Hills! We were celebrating our anniversary with our kids and grandkids (6 adults and 5 kids). The property offered plenty of room and space for the kids to play both inside and out. Although there were plenty of bathrooms, there were only 2 shower/baths available which not a big problem for our family. Check-in was easy and communication with our host (Kelly) was excellent. Location was excellent with beautiful views of the hills. Our grandkids loved seeing the horses nearby and playing in the spacious yard. We had a bonfire every night. Custer is a wonderful town with great restaurants and shops. Apart from visiting the regular sites (Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse, etc.) renting ATV’s for an afternoon was a highlight of the trip. I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay there again.

Excellent getaway!

We came for a wedding and extended our stay for a family vacation. We had a wonderful time. The house had everything we needed and was very spacious and clean. We loved the yard and the fire pit that also had firewood.

Awesome Location

The house was big enough for our group and also cozy enough for everyone to gather. The location to town and the major attractions was excellent too. I highly recommend the property house and location. The property hoat, Kelly, was great to work with.
