"The young lady at the front desk was as terrible, after two nights of loud noise / kids jumping in the room above, I called the front desk, I was told others had also complained and that I just needed to wait untill they stopped or went to bed. When trying to explain the situation she would continue to talk over me as she didn't want to hear what I had to say. You made a bad choice when you hired her! Also loud noisy air conditioner, it needs servicing."

"Stay was not as thought it would be. The room was very very dirty. The bathroom door was so filthy it looked as if it came from a dumpster. Bedspreads had holes all over. Cable kept going out. Toilet didn’t want to flush. Website pictures were very deceiving. I thought I would be in the room on website but it was far from that. Definitely not the room we stayed in. Was in town for an event otherwise we would of found something else"

"What was good: very clean room, very comfortable bed, easy access to the highway Not so great: the two chairs in the room were very uncomfortable, there was a giant piece of plywood where there had been a door for an adjoining room, the a/c sounded like there was a plastic bag stuck inside, and there was no coffee...not a coffee maker in the room or any in the lobby. Also, there were pot-smoking guests near me so my room smelled like pot smoke all night."

"This lodge is a one-of-a-kind 'hidden gem'! Location is peaceful, scenic & close to town & to historic New Salem. The two-story lobby is awesomely rustic with historical artifacts and numerous mounted 'deer heads'. There is a nice restaurant/bar on-site. The 'standard room' we stayed in was comfortable. Compliments to the manager for helpful information on the area & tour of the larger 'unique' suites at this lodge."
