Luxury Designer Beach House, absolute beachfront, amazing views, huge deck, huge new cabana on the deck, open fire, north facing, lovely flat lawn area, multi award winning holiday home. We have direct, private access to the safe swimming, south end of Culburra Beach near Tilbury Cove.
Escape is one of the rarest of gems on the east coast - faces due north and right on the beach in the premier "dress circle " of Culburra - located at the superior safe (patrolled in summer) swimming south end of Culburra Beach near Tilbury Cove.
Our calendar is always accurate and up to date.
Escape is the perfect holiday home for families, groups of singles, couples and holidaying with your dog. We are located near many of the local wedding venues at Terara, Merribee, Nowra and Berry so the perfect base for guests and families.


•ABSOLUTE BEACH FRONTAGE - walk from our garden onto 3 kms of beautiful Culburra beach. Our own private beach access! Located in the best, dress circle, south end of Culburra Beach - great safe swimming and patrolled in summer.
•AMAZING VIEWS - all the way up the coast from all living areas and the main bedroom. Be lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean. The main bedroom is spectacular!
•ONE LEVEL- a very rare thing for a beach house-suitable for more mature guests, rails in shower and toilet. Wide ramp to front door -no steps. A great floor plan with all living areas opening onto the deck
•ENORMOUS DECK and OUTDOOR PAVILION overlooking view with Weber BBQ, outdoor table, large outdoor lounges in the pavilion. We also have sun lounges with big lawn area below
•HUGE OPEN PLAN KITCHEN open plan living, large dining table (seats 10) all new appliances, good cookware, 2 comfortable separate lounge areas.
•FLAT LAWN AREA lovely native garden. Lower deck near outdoor shower.
•FANTASTIC ASPECT -the house faces due north so in the cooler months is filled with sunshine during the day and at night there is the OPEN FIRE with a shed full of firewood wood. . In summer Escape gets beautifully cool summer breezes so there is no need for any air conditioning. It is often 10 degrees cooler than inland. There are fans in the bedrooms.
•FULL PANTRY contains flours, sugars, pasta, oils, sauces (basically everything you have in your pantry at home) Nespresso coffee machine, slow cooker, blender etc
•WHALE WATCHING from deck September to December. We have binoculars.
•DOLPHINS all year round
•4 BEDROOMS (Bedrooms 1 and 2 both have Queen beds, Bedroom 3 has a Queen bed and a bunk bed, Bedroom 4 has 2 double beds) sleeps 10/12 adults but we can accommodate additional children. Linen and towels are provided for all bedrooms and made up for guest's arrival and fully included in rates. Fans in all bedrooms.
•3 BATHROOMS including brand new en suite to main bedroom, new laundry, large new washer and dryer.
•OUTDOOR SHOWER

DOG FRIENDLY – inside and out. Maximum of 2 dogs unless agreed with owner.Fully fenced, large front yard, (street side) secure side courtyard. The beach is always dog friendly and leash free at certain hours every day depending on the season. The backyard (beach side) is not fenced but we find our dogs to not stray far from the elevated lawn area (see photos) while we are around. Strictly no cats.


CULBURRA
Culburra is the quintessential Aussie beach side town
Culburra Beach is on your doorstep (literally) and Warrain Beach 5 minutes' walk. Both are surf beaches. My surfing sons tell me it's the perfect combination.
The "bowlo " is fabulous and we have a Woolies which is a large, well-stocked shop with long opening hours. They will home deliver - have your shopping waiting! There is also a fabulous new restaurant/coffee shop in the centre of town called The Little Snapper.


Culburra is nestled amongst some of the Shoalhaven's most beautiful countryside.
Near bye lake and Shoalhaven River for boating - 2 boat ramps.
Great fishing: beach and river, catch fish in front of the house.
Lovely beach and bushwalks nearby, Jervis Bay, National Parks, Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Milton, Abraham's Bosom. Book on local walks available at Escape which also gives information about dog friendly local walks.
The local attractions include Callala Beach a 15-minute drive away. Towards Currarong, you'll find many more secluded white sandy beaches including gorgeous Honeymoon Bay. Delicious seafood is available at Greenwell Point.
Great local fish and the best oysters in Australia from near bye Greenwell Point.
Visit fantastic local wineries and restaurants.
Oyster farms at Greenwell Point.
Dairy Farms - visit a Robotic dairy farm, great fun!
Golf; 3 courses nearby
Horse riding
Great for bike riding. Culburra is very flat and quiet, easy to ride to the headland at the end of the street, down to the lake, river, lighthouse and shops.
Children's playground with picnic facilities 5 mins up the road or accessed from beach via Tilbury Cove.
Surf school just up the road; arrange surf lessons, hire boards, wet suits, kayaks, paddle boards.
Jervis Bay is 15 min drive away.
Lake Woollumboola nearby is famous for its bird life.
We are 2.5 hours from Sydney and 3 hours from Canberra.


We raise puppies for Guide Dogs N.S.W. Puppies spend their first 12 months with us prior to starting their "official " Guide Dog training. They absolutely love their holidays at Escape, and we have lots of photos at the house or on our Facebook page. Escape@Culburra


Escape is not available for weddings, pre wedding celebrations, schoolie groups, groups under 25 years of age or parties of any kind. For your added security, this property Escape@Culburra is only managed in Australia, and we never request payments be made to overseas bank accounts.
Rates are based on 6 people. Additional guests are charged $60 per person per night.
There is a cleaning /linen fee of $400

This place was perfect. The photos don't do the view justice. Jen, the owner, was in constant communication with us, and you can tell she takes great pride in their home and making it a great stay, even leaving a welcome surprise for us. We will definitely be back!!

Our family had a wonderful one week stay at “Escape”. This property looks good online, but it is breathtaking as you walk in the front door. The beach view is spectacular, and the house itself is beautifully presented. I would describe the styling as chic beach house with manicured gardens. My wife and I thought it reminded us of upmarket accommodation at Maui, but even better, as there is a private walkway down to a sandy swimming beach. My wife is an avid cook, and she loved that the kitchen was so well equipped with the best array of appliances and utensils we have ever encountered on holidays. Owner Jen is a great communicator and organiser, and had anticipated every need. We would highly recommend Escape@Culburra.

Escape is a wonderful holiday home. The location is spectacular and has direct beach access. My family loved our week together there. Made all the better with the furry family member being able to join us!The house is very well appointed. A full suite of cookware is available as well as pantry staples. This really sets Escape apart on the holiday house front! It feels like a home. There are multiple seating and dining areas. It was a very comfortable house for the 8 of us.Jen is also a fantastic host. She was super available and kept me informed of things as necessary in the lead up to and during the booking. Overall, our stay was fantastic!

Escape set the scene for a wonderful few days of an extended family catch up and celebration. The house is stunning and the setting spectacular. The amazingly well-stocked kitchen was an added bonus. The young teens loved the bunk room (and the beach, who said you can’t swim mid-winter?). The John Olsen prints were also a highlight. We’d love to come back!

I booked Escape@Vulburra as a gift to my brother for his 70th birthday. I knew that he would appreciate time with the family. So his wife, children and grandchildren, joined my family (adult children and dogs) for 3 days of family time. Everyone had a relaxing time. We prepared meals in the large and well equipped kitchen, played cricket, soccer and rugby in the backyard, swam, walked and fished on the privately accessible beach, watched sport, news and movies. Everyone slept comfortably, there were plenty of impeccably clean bathrooms and the large laundry was a particular bonus for feeding the doggos and keeping up with the need for clean and dry towels! We relaxed.........the view is beyond words! We talked, laughed, ate, slept and played. Everyone thought Escape@ Culburra was THE perfect setting for a family holiday - a perfect blend of stylish, practical, beautiful, private and social. We will be returning for sure!

A wonderful location, right on Culburra Beach with a stunning ocean view. The house is homely yet elegant, well provisioned, lots of space inside and a brilliant outside dining and relaxing area. We will be back!

There was only one issue we had, it was that the side of the property on the sea side was not fenced, and our dog escaped and ran up the road. The house has been beautifully set up, comfortable furniture, bathrooms are all great, kitchen good, everything we needed for our stay and more. Extremely clean too which was excellent. Owner very accessible and helpful, provided a load of information and was quick to answer any queries we had. The pantry was also well stocked. The deck was great, good furniture to sit there and watch the sea. Only issue again, was we had to keep our dog tied up when we were out there so she didn't run off. It wouldn't be difficult to put a small fence on the inside of the property where the bushes along the side were, and would make a dog owners stay perfect. It does say in the listing the front is not fenced, but I thought I read the side was fenced but maybe I misread that. It is easy to block off the path to the beach and this would keep dogs in if the side was also blocked off. There is a fenced area on the side of the house, but if we were sitting in the beachfront area, our dog would not want to be somewhere else. This property is truly sensational, a perfect spot with a quick walk down to the beautiful beach. Views from the master bedroom and living area and the sound of the sea is fantastic. So would we come again? Absolutely, but without our dog, which is a shame as it is a perfect area for dogs on that fantastic beach.

Our family of adults and two dogs had an amazing trip, staying at Escape at Culburra Beach. Jen is the best host we have ever had at a holiday house. She was easy to communicate with, provided timely responses and had the house set up with so many extra touches to ensure our stay was great. The house was very clean, the furnishings were beautiful and it also suited our dogs perfectly. The views out to the ocean were spectacular with easy access to the house and beach. Enjoying the sun, watching the ocean (with dolphins) while being warmed by the wood fire was perfect. Can't wait to go back and stay again!

Escape @ Culburra is an incredible property that exceeded our expectations in every regard. As good as the photos look, the reality is even better, with stunning views and north facing aspect - the living spaces were drenched in warm sunlight during our winter stay. Everything at the property has been very well thought through in terms of the design and use of space, with quality furnishings, fittings and inclusions, especially the beautiful art throughout and the well equipped kitchen. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and will definitely be booking again and recommending to our friends and family. Thank you Jennifer and Ian!

We had an amazing time and there was nothing that was missed at the property. Everything need was catered too, Exceptional views, easy walk to the beach, fully stocked pantry, kids play room with toyboxes and beach toys and beautiful linen with comfy beds. The host has really taken the time to think every need through. Have stayed in a number of beach houses, and this one was my Favourite to date. Highly recommend for anyone with little kids and wanting a family holiday

Escape at Culburra was the perfect stay for my family. Direct access to a beautiful beach, clean and spacious property, wonderful deck and garden and spectacular view. We did everything we planned to; beach walks, surfing, spear fishing, kayaking, playing games, reading on the deck, cooking and unwinding from a busy year. And it was super that the property is dog friendly and we could take our Cavalier along too. I would highly recommend it to others looking for a great place to relax with family and friends.

Fantastic property! The house is just beautiful and was extremely well stocked with forgotten essentials. The location was perfect, private beach access was so great. The pampered pooch loved the fenced front yard. It would be even more perfect if the beach/back yard was fenced. The house doesn’t have air conditioning. One night of our stay was very hot so air conditioning would be good. I would definitely recommend escape! We will be back 😊

Escape is a truely amazing holiday home - the best we’ve ever stayed in. The home accommodated 8 adults plus dogs with comfort and the living areas, both inside and outside, are very spacious. The owners were very easy to correspond with which makes it hassle free so you can just enjoy your holiday. The extremely well stocked kitchen is a real bonus. The view and location is truely spectacular at Escape and we couldn’t have asked for more. Wonderful!

Stunning contemporary comfortable home. Great spaces inside and out. Well equipped and top location. Even though the weather was unfortunately very wet and windy we had such a relaxing chilled time. Looking out to the beach and the sea made you feel you were outside anyway. Excellent communication from the host prior , during and after our stay. Highly recommended and we will definitely return.

We have stayed at Escape a number of times and always have a wonderful time. The home and the location are gorgeous and there is nothing Jen has not thought of. We love the personal touches around the property which make everything feel very special. Our family (including our kelpie) always feel so welcome and we can't wait to come back again!

Recent renovations and a generous host who sincerely and enthusiastically cares for the comfort and convenience of her guests ensures a memorable stay in a house with high quality furnishings , located in a premier location overlooking a beautiful dog friendly beach. Jen has thought of everything you might require, be it in the large kitchen ,living areas ,bedrooms, bathrooms or outdoors.

This was by far the best property we have rented in Culburra, and we've rented ALOT of them over the years! Jen was an absolute delight to deal with and nothing was a problem. We really appreciated all the special personal touches throughout the home and were conscious of taking good care of it!

Our family enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Escape@Culburra. The hosts Jen and Ian were great to deal with. Communication was excellent and everything was clearly explained. The property is stunning with the most amazing views of Culburra Beach. Everything you could possibly need is provided in the property plus more. We would thoroughly recommend Escape@Culburra for a couple, family or group. We had a fantastic stay!
