Cottage on Verdigris Creek

Comfortable cottage acreage on Verdigris Creek with room to stretch out. The property is like a park; beautiful trees extending out to a sandy beach on the wide, sandy creek. It is a short drive to Ashfall Fossil Beds, Niobrara State Recreation Area, Grove Lake and endless outdoor adventure.
Four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. Large dining room, living room with 55" TV , and Den with card table, board games and TV. Weber grill on the front porch. Back screened in porch overlooks the property to the creek. The kids will enjoy the large deer stand/fort overlooking the creek.
The rooms are cooled with individual window air conditioners and warmed with baseboard heaters.
Fresh linens and pillows are provided.
The kitchen is fully furnished with refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, blender, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Please note the refrigerator does not have an ice maker.
Bathrooms are supplied with bath and hand towels as well as anti-microbial hand soap.
A washer and dryer are also provided
Internet is provided. The Smart TVs are set up to stream and are equipped with Google Chromecast. Both Netflix and Amazon Prime are subscribed for and available to use. We are too remote for broadcast TV.
The town of Verdigre has a restaurant, coffee shop bar, two bars and grocery store as well as the Bohemian One Stop convenience store/gas station, which has a little of everything.
There is no garage or storage for boats (yet).

Quiet place to stay. Would not recommend for families with small children. Ideal for a hunting group.

We had a fantastic stay at this cottage! The grandkids & adults alike, had so much fun. We utilized the kitchen, dining room, game room, backyard, and creek for numerous enjoyable activities. We also appreciated the close proximity to town for groceries, coffee, church, etc.

The creek was very nice. Screened in back porch had view of creek which was fun. We also hung out on front porch a lot. The birds sang a lot and trees were pretty. Our host was always available for questions

Great Property

We had a great stay near Verdigre. The property was clean and ready to receive guests. Lots of room for our family with a well equipped kitchen and 3.5 bathrooms. The second fridge for beverages was a bonus! Lots of room to play games out back. We really enjoyed sitting by the fire next to the Verdigre Creek. This is a great spot to spend time with a group.

Great house in the country but close to town

Everything went off without a hitch! We enjoyed sitting and roasting s’mores down by the creek! We recommend bringing hammocks as the back yard is perfect for hanging them! We had children with us between the ages of 6-23. Everyone had a comfortable bed and plenty of space! The house is very clean! The town of Verdigree is the closest thing to a Hallmark town that we’ve ever experienced! Great grocery store, amazing kolache bakery, - cute coffee shop and the Catholic Church is beautiful. Every where we went we were greeted by super friendly smiles! So long Verdigree! We sure enjoyed our stay!

Relaxing Family Getaway

This was a perfect rental stay. We had everything we needed (kitchen supplies, towels, beds, bathrooms, space) and more! Perfect space for all with the comforts of home and plenty of board games, movie streaming, and creek access that was a big win for our young kids and dog. We had great spaces to spend time together and plenty of room to spread out when we needed to. We drove to Nipbrara State Park and Ashfall Fossil dig. Both are worth the drive just getting there and when you get there are super in their own ways. Jon was a great host!
