Beautiful artistic details throughout. Porches for sunrise ocean views with coffee, sunset cocktails and shaded porch for respite from summer sun.

    Accessible by 4x4 only. Approximately 2.6 miles up the beach. Not Pet Friendly...

    Settle in for a memorable stay by the sea at “The Salty Anchor”! This classic and charming semi-oceanfront home combines the peace and serenity of a 4x4 vacation with the convenience of a short 2.6 mile drive to the paved roads of Corolla to visit shops, restaurants and attractions. Spend your days with your toes in the sand and relaxing on the new decks overlooking the unique landscape. Be sure to keep watch for wild horses playing in the dunes!

    Stroll down a sandy path near the home to get to the ocean’s edge, or load up your 4-wheel drive vehicle with chairs, coolers and beach toys and park on the beach instead. Enjoy salty breezes and ocean views from the top-level sun deck or lounge in the shade on the covered deck on the mid-level. Savor more sights of the ocean from inside the home in the spacious top floor common areas which includes a great room, kitchen, dining room, and breakfast bar. After a full day of fun in the sun, fire up some friendly competition in the rec room with pool table.

    Your stay will leave you relaxed, refreshed, and longing to return to this comfortable cottage. Come enjoy the sand, sun, and sea at “Salty Anchor”!

We love this house. It is very clean and well kept. The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are spotless. The owners are helpful and terrific communicators. The upstairs has an upstairs has an open floor plan for socialization when you have a group. The view of the ocean is gorgeous with beautiful sunrises. A great ocean front place.

Just as described!!! Views were incredible. Horses just outside the back deck! House was super clean and comfortable. Owners were super responsive!! The distance to the paved road was just perfect. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful home with a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to enjoy spending time with family! The view from every room was amazing! We loved walking through the "neighborhood" and seeing the wild horses - we saw them every day we were there.

The decor was beautiful and so was the view! The most special thing about our vacation was seeing the horses! We took a tour to see the wild horses but then we saw them on our own several times. One time they came into the yard to graze. So magical!!

The house was perfect for a quiet, relaxing vacation. We enjoyed opening the windows, listening to the ocean and letting the breeze come through the main living space on the third level. The drive up the beach to Corolla took only about 10 minutes so it was easy to get to restaurants, stores and other attractions.

Perfect location

The ease of getting to the property and onto the beach was effortless. It’s a perfect location on Corolla. The view of the ocean from the porch was also better than many in this location. Very cute place.

We enjoyed our stay at the salty anchorHad everything we neededHouse was as advertised and beds were comfortable It was nice having the pool table in the basement. Location was perfect, not too far down the beach and saw horses every day. Jo was very responsive and helpful. This was our first trip to OBX and we would love to come back
