"Our stay at the Jack Russell was very enjoyable. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely view. However, the lighting was very subdued which is relaxing but it would have been useful to have more efficient reading lamps. The breakfast bar was good but it would have been nice to have a selection of nuts and seeds and full fat natural yoghurt. "

"Great location, free parking and easy walk up to the small town centre and surrounding countryside. Staff were very helpful. Nice old property but a little dull sometimes and lacked character. Clean though. There were issues with water pressure, effecting showers etc. this was explained on arrival, so was not a surprise. Breakfast was unexciting and just ‘okay’ with overcooked scrambled eggs, dry bacon and a pot of beans that was more juice than beans. A comfortable stay despite the quibbles."

"First off the staff were lovely and so helpful. The hotel itself could do with more attention to detail - we got a free room upgrade but only because the toilet seat came off in our hands first use. Second room was very spacious but there wete issues - its an old building so we were expecting uneven floors - leaking showers not so much, flickering lights when first switched on.
