Irreführende Angaben. Alles alt, abgenutzt, unsauber und nicht für längerem Aufenthalt geeignet. Sind nach 10min wieder weg von dort. Besitzer hat uns Ausweichobjekt angeboten das wir auch genommen haben.

Toller Garten, tolle Gastfreundschaft! (Und keine Touristenhorden...)

Wir wurden von Stanley warm und freundlich begrüsst. Gleich bei unserer Ankunft schnitt er für uns alle eine Kokosnuss von einer der Palmen in seinem Garten und bot sie uns zur Erfrischung an. Schnell kam man ins Gespräch. Wer den Austausch mit Locals schätzt, ist hier am richtigen Ort. Das Haus wurde in den 60ern gebaut und ist einfach einfach und simpel gehalten. Es verfügt nicht über AC und ähnliche moderne Extras. Ist aber auch nicht nötig, da das Haus so gebaut wurde, dass es sich von selber in der Nacht abkühlt; falls nötig steht aber ein Ventilator in den Schlafzimmern zur Verfügung. WiFi gibt's aber und dieses läuft – entgegen gewissen Reviews – eigentlich immer tiptop und ist schnell genug für den normalen Gebrauch. Zudem wurden die Badezimmer kürzlich renoviert. Der vergleichsweise ruhige und eher untouristische Strand ist keine 3min vom Haus gelegen und zu Fuss schnell erreichbar. Schön ist auch, dass auch Einheimisch dort baden und nicht bloss Touristen. Unsere Kinder haben mehrfach mit Stanleys Kindern gespielt und wir haben auch zusammen mit der Familie zu Abend gegessen. Seine Frau kocht hervorragend und ebenfalls sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Neben den Haustieren (Hund Mellow und die Katze) gibt es einen Haufen Tiere im Garten zu bestaunen, wenn diese vorbei schauen: Affen, Vögel, Streifenhörnchen... Und Abends bewohnen unzählige Glühwürmchen den Garten. Stanley war stets da für uns, wenn wir was benötigten oder eine Frage hatten. Er ist zumeist in der Nähe, aber nie aufdringlich oder störend. Ganz im Gegenteil haben wir seine Gesellschaft und seine Geschichten und Erläuterungen sehr genossen und sind ihm für seine grosse Gastfreundschaft sehr dankbar! Zum Schluss durfte unsere Tochter sogar mit Stanley im Garten einen neuen Zimt-Baum pflanzen. Danke Stanley für Alles! Niels & Familie

We traveled as a group of 3, me and my boyfriend and my friend. My boyfriend and I loved the place because it has a very beautiful charm being and old building (we love old buildings), the bathroom was newly renovated and the bedroom looked presentable. The entire place felt historic and charming. Unfortunately, my friend was just not comfortable staying there that night and we ended up staying elsewhere even though we had paid for the night. We travelled as a group and we decided that we would move together. We are so sorry. These are just our opinions and our suggestion we hope that you improve the grounds. What we love: The colonial building, the charm, the garden, the location, the caretaker (your brother) was very sweet, the dog Mallow is very sweet and well taken care of What we think could be improved on: The main problem in my opinion is lighting, it's very dark in the house and to first time visitors, this can be quite uncomfortable, eerie and feel unsafe. Here are my suggestions: The garden is great, please keep it, but the branches and bush around the house should be cleared to let in the natural light that the house really needs. Then install some netting (in a neat and nice way) over the windows so that the shutters can remain open to let in more light during the day. The kitchen area (fridge including) needs to be cleaned up properly as well. Perhaps, some simple (and cheap) table can be made in the kitchen. We met a very nice Hungarian man next door, and I'm sure he would be happy to help you improve your place for maybe a discount on his accommodation. ------ Even though we ended up not staying the night, I gave you 4 stars because I hope that this place does well and I don't want to hurt the reputation because it's a very beautiful building. But to be honest it would be 2 stars in the current state right now. We wish you the very best and we actually wish we could work on improving the place with you as it has sooo much potential!! I hope to come back and stay again after you've fixed up the place. Good luck.

A perfectly located and supremely comfortable little cottage near the beach!

The Colonial House was one of the first homes built in Talalla and it's a lovely setting. There is a main house and also a smaller, newly constructed 1 bedroom house with kitchen and bathroom. The hosts, Wolley and his brother Stanley were extremely helpful and arranged transportation and a scooter rental for me. The value of this property is unmatched when you consider its location, quality, comfort and price. It's ideal for a couple or a solo traveler like myself.
