I enjoyed my stay at The Essex, I was a female solo traveller and stayed for 2 nights, I couldn't fault the spa facilities they were lush! The breakfast buffet was a bit small but you could order what you liked from the menu at no extra charge with plenty of options!
Unfortunately there was a problem with the electrics in my room and they had to be rebooted a couple times. The electrics had damaged my hair curling tongs. I mentioned this to the manager and she even tried fixing them which I really appreciated. When they couldn't fix them she stated they would buy me new ones as a replacement! The manager Elaine, emailed me the next day with the order number on Amazon stating they would be delivered the next day, so I am so so chuffed at the help I received from her and couldn't be more grateful I have had the curling tongs replaced. The staff also moved me rooms to another deluxe double to solve the faulty electrics. I am very happy with the staff who were lovely and really helpful.
Would really recommend this hotel.
