"What lovely staff, so friendly. This is the best place i have stayed in yet on my Coast to Coast walk. Breakfast was amazing, apart from the usual full english (which loses its novelty after 5 days!) chose eggs benedict which was perfectly cooked and made a lovely change. Les déjeuners y sont complets et copieux et leur programme Green qui permet d’avoir une consommation par jour si on ne demande pas le service de nettoyage vaut le coup. Notre chambre était petite et au 3ème étage. Ça peut être un défi avec les bagages. Le plus gros inconvénient était de n’avoir aucun crochet dans la chambre ou même dans la salle de bain pour les serviettes. Cet aspect serait à améliorer…"

"Very average. Overall a nice pub area. Checkin was rushed. No parking nearby and confusing as to which car parks allowed overnight parking. Carpets were filthy and didn't look like they had been hoovered in a week. Breakfast was fine. "

"A Pub with rooms not a Hotel .. no amenities .. no reception just a woman behind the bar … no porter and not lift had to drag cases up and down 3 flights of stars .. restaurant was bun grub Room very basic bathroom was clean .the room smelt of dogs maybe allocate rooms for dogs only. nothing in the area terrible chip shop .. not worth £100et alone £185 … one highlight good breakfast 👍definitely wouldn’t sty there again or recommend it"

"This is unique experience. With outstanding views of Windermere and Ambleside. Try and avoid wedding weekends. As the menu is limited but still a lot of great choice and variety. Staff could not be more helpful and attentive. Makes a huge difference to a trip, I hope the management team take note. We stayed in the cottage's which were great for us as we travelled as a 6. And gave us some extra privacy and ability to spend the afternoon on our own terrace together which was great. But...
