We were there when the wildfire smoke came. During the first night we noticed a smoky smell in our room and awoke to extreme air quality issues. We had planned to go to Mackinac Island for the day but you couldn't walk outside without coughing. Actual ash was coating our car. We are retired and knew we could not...

"There was never any facility available!? When we arrived via GPS, could not contact anyone or see any evidence of a room and/or cabin for us to stay in? Phone posted on a door was not in service."

"An absolutely great hotel and location. Very clean overall, rooms had hooks and space to hang and place clothing and bags. The workout facility was one of the best I've seen in a hotel - a good set of dumbbells, pulley machine, and plenty of cardio equipment. A nice pool and the hot tub was outside, but a smaller. A roof patio to take in the view. A small, but ample bar. The breakfast was very good as well and staff made sure it was stocked and clean - coffee was good as well - even had bagels...

"This is a gem amongst all motels and even hotels in the Mackinaw/St. Ignace area. Completely renovated, just like the pictures show it. And dog-friendly! Yes, you can hear occasional noise from adjacent rooms but that’s no difference when staying in a hotel. I will return to this motel anytime if I need an overnight stay in the area."

"The property is well maintenance and has beautiful flowers everywhere and you can relax in the many rocking chairs on the porch. Also has many Adirondack chairs to seat in on the grassy frontage. The room we received was a King room but the ceilings are very sloped in the corners and you could hit your head on the creases if you’re not careful when getting out of bed. It was very small and on the fourth floor. You had to take an elevator to the third floor and then steps up to the forth floor....

"Great place, price is a little high, not quite much a beach . The view of sun setting was good and The motel offered everything it promise and yes it was up to date and clean."

A young couple bought this property and are renovating it beautifully! Many thoughtful touches have been added including a fire pit with all the s’mores fixings! "I loved the location and the price was very reasonable for the area. The staff were very helpful and even let me check in a couple hours early. You could smell the freshness when you walked into the room and it was well air conditioned. My only complaints are that we had a tough time keeping the refrigerator door closed and it lacked a freezer. Also there was no microwave so you couldn’t reheat a meal and the bathroom could have used some updating. The tub and shower were clean but seemed a bit...
