Geauga Maple Cottage

This charming century home offers enough beds to sleep six; two bedrooms on the second floor each with a queen bed and a tv dvd combo and enough room for a pack and play (for a little one); also, a twin bed in a loft area; lastly, a third bedroom on the main floor with a twin bed.

You'll find this home very roomy and comfortable. It has a nice dinning room, living room with Internet,TV with over 40 local channels and DVD player and a selection of DVDs ,some books and games with a couch and a love seat, one bathroom, a laundry room complete with iron and ironing board,and a full kitchen with microwave, toaster, coffeemaker and all the other tools to make a home cooked meal. The home is also furnished with clean linens, towels, and paper products to start you off.

The front porch features two comfortable rocking chairs to rock away the stress, read a good book or plan your next adventure.

In the back yard there is a charcoal grill and two Adirondack chairs and a fire pit.

If you don't want to cook on your vacation there are plenty of delicious restaurants to choose from: Joey's Italian, Square Bistro, Element 41,Hayashi Mayple, Chardon Buckeye Chocolate Cafe’, Beans Coffee Shop, ChardonTavern&Grill,Cleats Sports Bar, NOCE Gourmet Pizza, El Patron Mexican, China House, Spinners Old Time Restaurant to start, and of course the traditional fast foods.

There is so much to do here in Chardon, also known as maple country. We have putt-putt golf, bowling, and a walking and biking trail that runs from Middlefield to Lake Erie that is only 1000 ft away from house. We do have bicycles for you to use per request. Chardon square also offers a farmers market on Fridays (seasonal), art shows, craft shows, classic car shows, live entertainment, and of course the Geauga County Maple Festival in spring. In nearby Burton we have the county fairgrounds, which hosts the Geauga County Fair (Labor Day weekend) and two antique shows (spring and fall). Middlefield is the center for Amish culture featuring artisanal cheese and crafts.

In nearby Lake County, we have The Holden Arboretum, Lake Metro park system, and Kirtland Temple and village that has a strawberry festival in the spring.

Ashtabula to the east hosts a large amount of wineries, antiques, and covered bridges

The home is located 35 miles east of downtown Cleveland, Ohio, a city which has a great many things to offer. Visit at your leisure Cleveland Cultural Gardens along MLK Blvd, Rockefeller Greenhouse and park, University Circle, Crawford Auto and many more museums. The Playhouse Square is second only to New York , not to be missed is the famous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. For sports enthusiasts we have the Indians, the Browns, and the Cavs. East 4th is known for its bar scene and high end restaurants.

We stayed in town for our first Maple Festival and this house was perfect all around. Just a five minute walk to the square so we didnt have to find parking for the event. The accommodations were excellent, very taken care of home and very clean. Thank you for a great weekend getaway.

We only needed extra bedrooms and beds and did most of our activities with family in Chardon. This place was perfect! While the bed situation was a little different (a twin room and a twin bed on the upstairs landing), it is exactly what we expected based on the posted pictures. The house was clean, uncluttered, very comfortable bedsheets and towels, and coffee machines. Also, a nice sized living room and parking. Just what we needed! AND some good books and movies for those who had some extra downtime. I especially loved the “Weird Ohio” book! Thanks for letting us stay in your home!

This is our third time staying here while visiting family. The location is perfect, close enough to walk around the square and easy to get to so much of our family and friends. Plenty of food options and stores nearby. Having space to spread out and relax after days of holiday get togethers is so nice and the hosts are very responsive to any questions or concerns.

A friend got married in Novelty and my choice of close places to stay were hotels East or Chagrin - I made the right choice. House is on a Main Street, but it is quiet, I didn’t hear a thing either night of our stay. Owners next door and friendly. There is a bar 100 yards away which I didn’t hear a peep from. I would stay again. If you want to have cable you need to bring a fire stick or other plug in device for the tv.

We had a very nice time at the house. The hosts seemed to think of everything we would need. The Sisters of Notre Dame had their famous BBQ that weekend and this residence was only minutes away. Thank you.

This was our second time staying in this home. It’s very comfortable, and has all the supplies needed. It’s also very close to a beautiful bike path which we enjoyed and to grocery stores. We will definitely stay there again.

We are so grateful to have found this immaculate, cozy house for our family members attending a family reunion in Chardon. The air conditioners and fans in all the rooms was appreciated by all during the hot weather. Communication with the hosts was great, as well. Thanks again!!

We came from Georgia for a Family Reunion and were so pleased with our stay in this home! Our little kids loved spending time with Jasper the owners dog who lived next door! This home has all the amenities needed. One Bathroom was our only challenge but we made it work! Would definitely stay here again 😁

i was in town for the annual all-class reunion of chardon high school and for activities related to my class's 60th anniversary reunion. my son and his wife and teenage daughter came with me. we did a little touring of the area while we were there to see old stomping grounds and sample the sights in chardon and nearby towns. your house was an excellent venue for all our activities. my only concern was my need for an upstairs bathroom and the steps would have been a little steep for my wife to manage if she had been able to come. i would be happy to stay there again in the future.

This was a wonderful place to stay. Clean, spacious, and comfortable. Beds, Couches, etc were in great shape and comfortable, and the kitchen had all the utinsils and cooking equipment we needed. On top of that, Craig and Marla are great people. We had a special circumstance and they bent over backward to be accommodating. I cannot thank them enough for their warm welcome and their concern for our comfort. Thank you SO much for everything you did for us and for sharing this wonderful home with us.

Our family of five greatly enjoyed our stay in Chardon especially as this house is within walking distance to a number of nice restaurants. The front porch with rocking chairs, the children’s games, and the cozy reclining chairs were highlights for our children. The laundry room, nicely equipped kitchen, and cozy bedrooms were just right. Definitely recommend!

We stayed here with our four kids for over two weeks. It was well equipped, and lots of points of interest in walking and even more within short driving distance. The property owners live next door and were friendly, helpful, and available whenever we needed them.

Wow. What a wonderful place to stay. We (my brother, sister and my wife) brought our elderly mom back to Chardon to visit the Maple festival after being away nearly 50 years. We grew up in the Chardon area and moved to Florida years ago. We had a great time. I can think of no better place to stay in Chardon. The Maple cottage was more than big enough for the five of us, with room to spare. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was plenty of space to just sit and talk as a family. The front porch was a great place to just watch the people walk by and was so serene with a cup of coffee in the morning. The cottage was spotless. The neighborhood was so peaceful with all the stores and restaurants close by. We will definitely be visiting again. We just loved the place. Thanks for being such great hosts.
