East Cottage, CHURCH STRETTON

East Cottage is a charming Grade II listed semi-detached cottage in Church Stretton. It has a double room with en-suite bathroom and two twin bedrooms. There is a family shower room, and a ground floor cloakroom. The kitchen has a breakfast area, and the sitting room has a dining area and cosy gas fire. Outside is off road parking for two cars, and a front patio area with a table and six chairs. East Cottage is a wonderful base for families, friends or walkers to enjoy the town and its beautiful surroundings.

Amenities: Gas central heating with gas stove in sitting room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, WiFi. Fuel and power, bed linen and towels included in the rent. A travel cot and highchair are available on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Enclosed front patio garden with furniture and views towards Long Mynd. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shops and pubs 2 mins walk.

Region: A E Housman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Town: Church Stretton is a pretty market town in the heart of rural south Shropshire. Described as "Little Switzerland", Church Stretton is surrounded by stunning scenery and is the major part of Shropshire's hill country. The town offers a good selection of pubs, tearooms, and specialist shops, as well as other attractions including fantastic walking opportunities on the Long Mynd; the fascinating Acton Scott Working Farm, and the ancient Stokesay Castle. Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Ludlow, Much Wenlock and Bishops Castle are all historic local towns with much to offer to visitors, and they are all an easy drive away from Church Stretton, as are the beautiful Welsh Borders.

Well stocked kitchen for cooking. Spacious and homely with great access to mountain trails. Host was easy to contact despite some niggles with app (not host fault) and would stay again.

A charming cottage in the center of Church Stretton. Our family of four was very comfortable with all of the additional space, and the fireplace made the chilly evenings very cozy. David was a great host who provided immediate assistance with any questions we had. Highly recommend!

The house was spacious, warm, clean and the kitchen was well equipped. It's very peaceful and there a number of great walks which can be reached from the doorstep. The town is a only couple of minutes away. A good base from which to explore the area without a car.

Perfect stay in a charming cottage. Perfect location, 2 minutes walk into the town or 15 mins over to Carding Mill Valley. Deceptively spacious cottage, and very peaceful. Perfectly equipped with everything we needed. Would definitely book a return visit!

Easy property to find and park at. Quite large and rambling. Great that we could close off a room to retain heat. Kitchen facilities were excellent, with a full-sized fridge/freezer and a bar fridge. Bedrooms are large with plenty of room. Having a third toilet downstairs makes life so much easier. Comfortable place to stay.Easy to walk into Church Stretton for shopping and browsing.Loved being situated in the Shropshire Hills with magnificent views.

We had a wonderful time at Church Stretton and East Cottage. The location is perfect as it is tucked away in quiet area but only 2 minutes walk to the town centre. The property is well equipped with kids essentials like highchair and travel cot which makes it much easier with two kids. The living room is spacious. David was very helpful and responsive. We will definitely be back again.

Great Location.

Nice big property good facilties parking for 2 cars. Close to the town which as good shops pubs etc. Close to the Long Mynd beautiful scenery and walks on the doorstep highly recommended.

Great location, very quiet and green area in walking distance from shops and pubs (5 min to a large coop store). Well equipped kitchen, cozy rooms, fast enough wi-fi (we did not watch movies but it was quite sufficient for video calls). The surrounding area is beautiful, a few beautifil hiking trails start within 10 min walk from the door. We'd be glad come again.

East Cottage provides a truly wonderful place to stay: a two-minute stroll from the bustling, thriving town of Church Stretton which is full of independent shops, bakeries, eateries and more. On a very quiet close with private parking and a pretty outlook, the house is nestled close to Long Mynd/Carding Mill Valley and the Rectory Woods and Field, all of which are under ten minutes’ walk away. A brilliant base from which to explore the glorious Shropshire Hills and wider area. East Cottage is extremely spacious with a very large, well-equipped and modern kitchen (with everything a dedicated cook could want!), leading onto a big and very useful utility room for muddy boots, drying clothes etc that also had an extra fridge-freezer should it be needed. There is a decent-sized front patio with a table and six chairs, with an attractive view. The two upstairs bathrooms are great (one with shower, one with bath) with three toilets in all in the house. There was plentiful hot water during our stay. Bedrooms are roomy with ample storage. We were there during a heatwave and the living room remained really cool throughout. Our host David was super-helpful and swift to respond to my couple of queries in the run-up to our visit and had left welcome milk and biscuits for us. I cannot recommend this cottage (and town and surrounding area) highly enough. The cottage’s location is second to none – so close to the great amenities yet so peaceful. It was a wonderfully memorable stay;

Lovely relaxing break

We had a lovely stay at East Cottage. The cottage is lovely, clean and well equipped. The location is perfect, very peaceful and just a few minutes walk to Church Stretton with coffee shops, nice quirky shops and pubs. We arranged for a food delivery from Asda for when we arrived which worked well for us and there is a large Co-op around a 10 minute walk away for any top ups required. Thank you for a lovely stay.
