  • This beautifully renovated 3 bedroom, 2 bath Chincoteague cottage is nestled along the salt marshes in a natural setting on Chincoteague Bay. A few of the fine features include a private pier, a new kitchen & appliances, waterside screen porch & deck, and private master bedroom suite with a custom-designed luxurious bath. The numerous windows and over-sized sliding doors allow panoramic water views from nearly any spot in the house. The first floor is completely wheelchair accessible and features your main living areas, large master bedroom suite (K) with bathroom, and second full bathroom with shower/tub. Upstairs features the second and third bedrooms (D/2T). If relaxation is what you're seeking, look no further. This quiet, peaceful location at the water's edge will delight the senses. Come and see for yourself; you won't be disappointed!

    - Linens and towels are included with your reservation.
    - No smoking is permitted on the premises.
    - This property is pet friendly. An additional fee of $150 per pet will apply. Maximum pets allowed: 2. Pet Restriction: NO CATS. All pets must be disclosed prior to arrival.
    - Any reservations made for a future year (known as "Advanced Reservations") are subject to rate and availability changes. These reservations will be confirmed in January of the arrival year.

Stayed here with another couple and our dog to explore the uniqueness of chincoteague while relaxing. Sunsets on the dock were beautiful and the quiet serenity of the area was so relaxing. The place was spacious and clean with wonderful views from 2 of the 3 bedrooms. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Very comfortable bay front beach house

Great views of the bay, the waterfowl and excellent stargazing from the pier. Nicely renovated and well appointed. The master bath/shower is a nice bit of luxury. The mattresses were extremely comfortable. Overall a very nice place at a very good price. I highly recommend it!

October 2022 Stay

We had a wonderful time at Trembling Bay. The house was comfortable and convenient and the views were absolutely beautiful! Chincoteague Vacations Team was lovely and responsive as well! Only thing to note is the need for the linens package(unless you want to bring all linens including bathmats etc) and be sure to bring your own oil/spices/tinfoil etc! This place was an excellent choice for a sisters getaway weekend!

Amazing views

The house was great and handicapped accessible. Some aspects were not as advertised, such as the screened-in porch is missing large screens and there was a mix-up and we did not have linens for about 20 hours after the check-in time. The views were prettier than expected and the house was comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies.

The location was perfect; close to shopping and restaurants. We normally don’t revisit our getaways; but this one we might have to. Loved it!

This is a lovely house in the most beautiful locations on Chincoteague Bay. The layout of the house was perfect for us (grandparents on the bottom floor in the master bedroom, each grandchild and her parents in one of the rooms upstairs), and the house is situated on a lovely lot right on the water with a sturdy dock. We were there for a nor'easter and the closing of the causeway bridge, and although we had water up to and under the house, we felt safe the entire time. We never lost power and the VRBO company stayed in touch we us the entire time. They even sent someone out to check on the septic system because it was under a foot of water (it held up fine).

August 2022 Stay

House was very updated and clean. We brought paddle boards and the dock was wonderful. The master suite is huge and the bathroom as well. The two bedrooms upstairs were smaller than we thought. The bathroom on the first floor had a curtain that was only half covering the window so there was no privacy for showers. The mosquitoes were so bad during our week even in the screened in porch but we’ve heard august is the worst for mosquitoes in Chincoteague. We will have to pick an earlier date in the summer next time!

Nice house beds need updated

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is very nice, however it is hard to enjoy a vacation when the beds are uncomfortable. King bed has no box spring so mattress sags between the bed rails and it only sits about 6 inches off ground. I personally slept on one of the twin beds upstairs. I am almost 6 feet tall and weight almost 300 but it was the only bed with any support. Pictures show house with big sectional sofa house had small uncomfortable sofa and chairs. Updated pictures needed

Adorable

It was the perfect fit for me and my hubby. He is on crutch's due to a botch hip surgery many yrs ago... anyway the house 1st floor is very handicap friendly. The master bedroom bed was comfy but very low to the ground. And bring your own pillows. Not many there. The one thing we were really looking forward to was going out on the dock, but I think between the storm that had come and just wear and tear on the wooden pathway to the dock, it fell down. We were not able to get out to the water. We did receive a small refund which we appreciated, and we would love to go back and visit that house and Chincoteague again.

October 2022 Stay

The mattresses need some serious upgrades. The king size bed does not have a box spring so the mattress sags between the slats of the frame and the bed only sits about a foot off the ground. I have a physical disability and the bed was too low to the ground for me to get up and down. I climbed the stairs each night and slept on the only comfortable mattress I could find. A twin bed for my almost 6 foot frame. Pictures show a sectional sofa in home but the house has two chairs and a love seat that could not have been slept on. Maintenance did place a board under mattress of king bed, but it needs a box spring to be comfortable

Very clean, comfortable, and charming home right on the bay. Highlights for our family were the dock (great for fishing), deck, and screened in porch for watching the sunsets. Close enough to town to bike to but still peaceful and private.

Beautiful setting

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful time at Trembling Bay. The house was lovely, the master suite amazing, and the views were unparalleled. The only downsides were the upstairs bedrooms. They were quite small and warm. The pier could use some maintenance as well. However, the stay was so enjoyable those were small annoyances. I'd return there in a blink.

Quiet summer getaway

This cottage was lovely. Private, quiet, clean, and with beautiful views of the bay. I could have spent the whole week on the screened porch. My only criticism is that the air conditioning doesn't cool the upstairs sufficiently. There are fans in the house, and you definitely need them on the second floor. Also, no linens means no bath mats, so don't forget to bring them like we did. But even with those criticisms, I would happily stay here again.

Overall the house/location was great. However, there were a few minor issues: the stovetop wasn’t cleaned very well, there was an issue with one of the TVs and the A/C wasn’t working properly toward the end of our stay. I’m assuming someone already knew because a technician came to fix it. While we were happy to see them, a heads up that this company was coming would have been appreciated.

I have been coming here for over 30 years and have rented numerous. I was most disappointed in this rental for so many reasons. Air conditioner froze up daily (even with following the directions). Master TV didn’t work at all and was never attended to during our stay. All skillets are in terrible shape. Owner needs to invest in a new set. Shower consistently leaks onto bathroom floor. You had to sit on the washer to keep it latched during the spin cycle and the dryer makes a horrid screeching sound every time we used it. We never did receive correct sheets from the linen rental and although we understand there is an apparent “linen shortage”, a proper communication prior (vs the day of) would have prompted us to get a king fitted sheet on our own. The $80 rental fee is a joke if you don’t get the needed linens. Future guests need to know there is NO a/c in the upstairs bedrooms, only fans, and it gets very warm. We ran out of hot water during our stay but the company was prompt in getting gas refilled

April 2021 Stay

Location was great and house was pleasantly decorated. However, major concern was two bathrooms. The master bath was nicely renovated with one big flaw: shower will flood the entire bathroom and possibly the bedroom itself no matter how carefully you shower. We could not take shower since we did not want to ruin the floor. The second bathroom had one old, dirty shower head with moldy knob. I tried to clean it with Clorox wipe but couldn’t. Everything else was as expected but bathroom showers were such letdowns and need to be fixed. Just cannot believe how no one else had issues with them. I would come back only if there two are addressed and fixed. Second bathroom need new tub and shower system: tub is so high that anyone taller than 5feet will not be able to take shower standing up.

Cute and comfy

Cute property with lovely view. A few items in need of repair (stove top was cracked and fireplace needed screen to cover wires) but overall great for a weekend getaway. Living room furniture seemed new and was very comfortable. Outside furniture could have been cleaned before arrival. If planning to cook make sure to check that the stove top has been repaired. Would definitely stay again.

A beautiful spot

We spent a couple weeks in early March there and though it was too cold to enjoy sitting on the pier for long the view from the house was wonderful. The house has a gas fireplace which was very cozy and comfortable. I would recommend this place to anyone and we are going to make our reservations for the next time very soon.
