InDeco perfect place in Mamalapuram

InDeco is an amazing idea--- half local history half a beautiful social experiment to help people and animals. This property is not as fabulously interesting as the original InDeco at Swamimalai although fun and funky, and the food is superior. The location-- within seeing distance of the Shore Temple-- can't be beat for seeing the Pallava monuments in Mamalapuram/ Mahabalipuram.

Quirky and fantastic staff

My colleagues and I were attending a conference at a nearby hotel. The staff here are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble..they will go the extra mile for you. This is not a modern hotel but it is very quirky and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, thank you

海岸寺院の料金所からすぐ、ビーチもよいですが、サービスは

海岸寺院の料金所にほど近く、ファイブラタ、アルジュナの苦行などメインの観光地にも歩いていける距離です。ホテルの敷地から南国の雰囲気満点の手入れされた庭を通り、遠浅のビーチにアクセスできます。その辺りは人も少なくプライベートビーチのようでした。 　空港ピックアップは頼みましたが返答もなく、やはり空港に迎えは来ていませんでした。 　朝食は7時からとなっていますが、8時にもブッフェは用意されておらず、着席してからオムレツ、マサラドーサ、ヨーグルト、お茶が用意され、そのうちにブッフェの品が数品運び込まれてきました。。。

Hôtel calme très bien situé

Chambre 402. Bungalow en forme de dôme dans un très grand jardin. Endroit très calme à proximité de Shore Temple et de la plage. Très bien situé! Chambre très spacieuse et très propre dans un décor vieillissant (meubles de style indien en bois massif). La salle de bain est vétuste mais le sol et les toilettes sont propres. La climatisation marche très bien. Le petit déjeuner est très copieux : fruits, crêpes, œufs, toasts... Personnel attentionné et agréable. Grande piscine légèrement brouillée. Wi-fi gratuite dans le hall seulement. Hôtel très correct.

Renovatie hoognodig

Dit hotel moet hoognodig gerenoveerd worden. De kamers en suites zijn absoluut het geld niet waard. Echter... wij verbleven in The Yale Suite (voor de prijs van een gewone suite) en die was heel bijzonder. Een fijne kamer met een erg leuke sfeer met een privé tuintje waar alleen af en toe een werknemer langskwam op weg naar de verblijven van het personeel. (De prijs die ze echter normaal voor deze Yale suite vragen is ronduit belachelijk.) Het ontbijtbuffet werd heel klungelig geregeld. Receptioniste was ronduit uitstekend.

Great location

Enjoyed our stay. The place is a bit old fashioned and a bit quaint. It has attractive grounds, good pool and is well located. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice property, but not well maintained

Indeco Mahabalipuram has a very good location close to the beach and the shore temple. But maintenance is not up to the mark. We stayed in Room 401, which is a dome suite (very big) that comfortably accommodated 2+2. The swimming pool was not very clean, the pathways were not well lit at night. The feeling one gets is of being in a very old place. Food isn't great either.

Quaint but very comfortable and simple

Indeco Mahabilipuram is right in the middle of things, the beach is just a 5 min walk down the path, the ancient monuments are all within walking distance. The hotel itself is very quaint and simple, but has all comforts a middle class hotel would need to provide. Some of the things were a bit run down, e.g. the pool table, the table tennis table, etc, but lets face it, when you go to Mahabs you need to enjoy the beach or the monuments and probably not the TT table or Pool table.. The place was neat and clean, the food was simple, choice limited, but decent enough for a good meal. For the budget conscious, you will get everything you want with no regrets.

Quirky and relaxing

This is right out of the set of the Exotic Marigold Hotel-feels like it went to sleep in 1970 and woke up with a layer of dust all of it. We loved it, a bit quirky but a Great location, plenty of garden space, fantastic for our boys as it had a trampoline, seesaw, table tennis and pool! the breakfast was fantastic, we got treated to a full Indian breakfast on our first morning, the best dosa ever! the perfect start to our time in India as it was gentle, quiet and in a nice little town

Lost Opportunity

Was very disappointed. I should have listened more carefully to the criticisms online for this hotel on hotels.com. I know this area well, but it was my first time staying in this hotel, though I had used the pool there before. I couldn't believe how shabby it has become. Nonsense about being some 'natural creation' and 'eco-friendly' - just a poor excuse for shabby. It could be great if they repair it. Filthy around the food area at breakfast (and I travel in India a lot, so well used to local standards). Pool was nice, but, again, could do with maintenance. Staff not very friendly when I pointed out that I asked for a quiet room but given a plastic roofed 'shed' in a monsoon rain-storm -the loudest room ever!

- the breakfast buffet was not served the first day; they pretended it was not included in my package; saturday night there was a noisy party in the conference room till 10:30 PM -> impossible to rest; overall to expensive

Indeco, quirky, comfortable

As my first stop in Tamil Nadu (barring an overnight after a long flight to Chennai), Indeco was quite good. The room was comfortable and clean enough; there's full power backup to deal with the ongoing power cuts TN is going through right now. Grounds are well kept and shady. Quality of food for breakfast (excellent vada sambar) and dinner was very good. Wifi speed in the lobby was excellent (though ask for the DNS number to plug into your settings if you can't connect at first). The fact that the owners' family's antique collection is scattered around the property is quirky in alternating kitschy and fascinating way. Definitely take your time to read all the caption cards if you're interested in colonial history. Make sure to take a walk down to the beach via the path off the property, past what I assume used to be a proper beach house, devastated in the tsunami and still not rebuilt, now in ruins. The location is good, and since Mahabalipuram is pretty small everything's in walking distance (if a sweaty walking distance). That there are two conference halls on the grounds, in constant use when I was there, adds to the experience of being in day-to-day and not just tourist India. My only complaint is that if feels slightly overpriced for what you're getting. There are plenty of hotels at this price point in India that have a bit more polish to them. All told I enjoyed my time at Indeco and should I go back to Mahabalipuram would certainly consider staying there again.

chambres rustiques, salle de bains , literie et Appareil d'air conditionné dans un état précaire.Propreté convenable mais limite. Restauration bonne . Le parc de l'hôtel est très boisé et donne une ambiance bucolique. On peut s'y promener où méditer dans le calme. Il y a même une piscine ...Cette environnement est le principal point fort. On oublie l'état approximatif des chambres. Le concept des chambres en lotissement dans le parc est bien vue. Idéal pour les familles.

Super Lage! in wenigen Fussminuten erreicht man die Hauptsehenswürdigkeiten. Liegt gerade neben Shore Tempel. Negativ: Restaurant-Service total unterschiedlich von gut - habe mich voll geärgert (langsam, überteuert)

Ok Hotel

We stayed here only one day. staff was very nice, Hotel is old one so you can not do much about it. It is right next to beach and shore temple. they have a nice small museum. Hotel may need a major upgrade.Bring mosquito repellent. Staff was nice to let me use their computer for internet. Breakfast was disappointing compared to some other hotels during my trip to Tamilnadu.

cadre très agréable dans des jardins avec une belle piscine, non loin du temple, du centre-ville, de la plage (tout étant accessible à pied en quelques minutes). Bon restaurant, service sympathique, personnel agréable et efficace. Chambres un peu tristes et salle de bains rustique avec une douche plus ou moins efficace

room with strong smell of funghi, rain dripping into the hotel, very damp and humid, bath room questionable. fine if you pay no more than 5$, but this is not the case here
