"Quiet and absolutely spotless. First floor accomodations. Walkable downtown community. Annie's was great for Breakfast. Grand Haven state park, beach and the lighthouses were wonderful. Looking forward to returning to this charming area to paint again soon. "

"This is our second time staying here, and we are so happy with this. The castle is a wonderful place to stay. The apartment is clean and quiet and has all we need, and it is conveniently located. We love this place and hope to come back!"

"We had a pleasant experience. The only problem was when we moved a fire pit closer to our cabin because the are was vacant (5 fire pits only 8 cabins, which needs to be addressed). The man who checks on the property came over and stated he drove by to talk to us earlier, but we were not at the cabin, which (a) seems like stalking and (b) his tone and the way he was leering at my daughter in law were not appreciated. If we stay next year my son and I may just kick his ass....we were tempted to...

"We needed a stop over point on our way to Northern Michigan from Grand Rapids and chose Houghton Lake as the location. We were fortunate enough to find this little gem right off the water! Very clean and comfortable as advertised! Would do it again! "

"Cabin was very clean, welcoming, and well stocked. Bed was very comfortable. Even though there was no kitchen, there is a mini fridge, griddle, and toaster. I did notice hot water ran out quicker than what I'm used to, but I sped up my showers and it was fine. Fire pit with wood supplied was nice and relaxing to sit by. Paved white pine trail running right by the cabin was nice for long walks with my dog. The property is nice and peaceful, easy walk down to the river. Wonderful, peaceful...

"Our family was attending a wedding in Flushing MI and we needed a large home for our stay. The house was beautiful and well equipped. We enjoyed 2 nights together. Since the weather was perfect, we decided to take some family photos in the large yard.PROs: Size, location, cleanliness, ability to accommodate large groups, nicely decorated, primary suite located on the first floor. "My mom and two teenage daughters and me were traveling and this was a good place to stop on our journey. The double bed and pillows were comfortable. The futon/pullout was not really meant for sleeping. There were not linens for the futon or pillow cases for the extra pillows. The double bed did have pillowcases and sheets. "Exactly what is needed for a little get away! Such a cute cottage, wonderful outdoor space with fire pit and hot tub. Short walk to the most beautiful beach I have seen in Port Austin with a wonderful sunset view. Host was kind and accommodating. Would highly recommend this little get away! :)"

"The cabins were cozy. The walls were very thin and felt like the interiors were original from the 40s or the 50s and there was old wiring and outlets but it gave it a rustic feeling that I liked. Beach was nice but we didn't go swimming. The shower was tiny but a bigger shower will not fit so I can't complain. It was nice."
