Guitars & Harmony

Daddy, want you take me back to Muhlenberg County…this gem is located in the heart of the Western Kentucky Coalfield.
Guitars & Harmony is a charismatic, completely furnished cottage house. It encompasses two queen bedrooms and two full bathrooms, along with a fully stocked kitchen and charming family area. Each room echoes the rich, traditional, musical heritage that makes Muhlenberg County so unique.

You can take a sentimental journey by sitting on the front porch in a rocker or lounge on the patio while listening to our late greats including The Everly Bros., John Prine, Merle Travis, Jim Walker and many others, or enjoy the captivating memorabilia of these artist located inside the residence.

Guitars & Harmony is conveniently located within walking distance of various local restaurants, retail stores, liquor stores, grocery stores, gas stations and banks. Also, an Urgent Care and several pharmacies within 1/2 mile.

Other points of interest located just minutes away, includes downtown Central City…where the music never ends, LuRay Park Amphitheater, Muhlenberg Music Museum, Everly Brothers Monument, Merle Travis Center/National Thumbpicker’s Hall of Fame, Four Legends Park, Kentucky Motorsport Hall of Fame, Central City Convention Center, Rails to Trails walking trail and Paradise Historical Park.

Venture on into Historical Greenville, the county seat, and tour our historic courthouse and various monuments located on the property. Take a hike at Brizendene Brothers Nature Park or visit the quaint Thistle Cottage and Coal Car Museum. Travel further into southern Muhlenberg and visit beautiful Lake Malone State Park and Bard’s Distillery in Western Muhlenberg.

Muhlenberg also boasts an airport and several health care clinics. We are a small community with a lot of history, heritage and heart.

What a charming home !! Decorated beautifully , clean and comofortable !! Every detail was included for a pleasant stay ! The loaded coffee bar and ice machine were much appreciated !! Every about our stay was top notch! This was our 2nd stay here and I truly wouldn't want to stay anywhere else when coming into town. After a long 8 hour drive, myself & my 85 year old mother were exhausted. And it's nice to feel like you have arrived at your 2nd home. Everything is clean and comfortable. Every detail has been carefully thought of to ensure you have a wonderful stay. We are so grateful that such a beautiful place is offered at such an affordable price. And the location is right where we need to be when we come into town.

Charming house and amazing hostess

Lahoma was wonderful! She quickly responded to my messages, and she followed up once we checked in. The house is unique, fun, very clean, and well-equipped, although we weren’t in it long enough to use anything but the coffee maker. Bummer! The showers had hot water and excellent pressure. It was easy to find, although we were surprised with its location, and it had a large parking area. Our only reason for four stars is the location of the house. It’s near a stoplight corner on a main road, in a commercial area, between a motel and gas station. That in and of itself is not a big deal. We felt safe. However, the street noise made it very difficult to sleep, even with the comfy mattresses and sound machines Lahoma provided in each bedroom. Thankfully, the babies slept through all of it. It was just the adults who didn’t get any rest. I still recommend, but maybe bring ear plugs. :) Thank you, Lahoma, for your wonderful hospitality and kindness!

So very very GRATEFUL

We have been reluctant to visit family in Kentucky for years simply because there just was no decent place to stay. GUITARS AND HARMONY have changed that for us and we are so very grateful!. The home is so beautifully decorated and clean and comfortable. Every little detail was so thoughtfully planned out for guests in this home. We can't wait to come HOME again!

Very cute!

INCORRECT DATES LISTED. If you are into gobs of antiques and memorabilia..this is your place. Most every surface is covered. As an older couple, we have lots of “stuff” that we need to have by our bedside, in the bathroom, etc so we had difficulty finding space for those things. There are plenty of towels, dishes, a/c worked well, pillow choices, and outside area in the back is so cute and private even though not fully fenced. Lots of eateries close by..the food was good and we were shocked how cheap it was! Overall, a good stay!

A Gem

I had no doubt this would be a nice place. Better than expected! LaHoma, is a wonderful host. The comfort, the details of it all that she put in to make it so nice and just the peace we felt while staying, was perfect. Normally, we stay at the local hotel when visiting family. We are spoiled now and hope when we can visit next time that she has availability. As I wrote earlier, this is a ‘gem’ in Central City/Western Kentucky.

Love!!!

Wow let me just say that this little house is just the cutest!! Loved the decor so much. She has really thought of everything. Plenty of towels, blankets and even box fans! The house was immaculate and just so cozy. You are smack dab in the middle of town but you’d never know it inside. The little patio out back is perfect too! It was a great little trip to celebrate my mom and dads 52nd anniversary. All the little touches in this house will have you walking around saying “well look at this!”
