Sanctuary Vacation Rentals is proud to present “Sand Dollar House”! Sleeps up to 7 guests.

Spectacular views of the Monterey Bay and your own private boardwalk to the beach are among the very special features of this home in a gated community near the quaint fishing village of Moss Landing.

The 3-bedroom, 3-bath condo features décor with a modern coastal vibe that fits perfectly into this setting, with a back patio looking out upon the bay, where you can watch dolphins, whales and seagulls over the private beach and protected sand dune habitat.

Ocean views from the main bedroom suite, living room and dining room let guests enjoy twinkling lights at night and the entire bay by day. Vaulted ceilings, large windows and outdoor seating areas at the front and back of the home let indoors and out flow together seamlessly.

Part of the Monterey Dunes Colony, the 1700-square-foot condo is situated at the midpoint of the bay, with easy access to attractions on the Monterey Peninsula and in the Santa Cruz area.

The complex is next to Salinas River State Beach, a favorite spot to walk, bird watch and take photos. Monterey and Santa Cruz are within a half hour’s drive, and just a bit further are the world-class golf courses and restaurants of Pebble Beach, the natural wonders of Big Sur, and wine tasting and dining in Carmel Valley Village.

Living Spaces
Guests enter through the private, gated courtyard which includes a gourmet gas grill, patio seating and a sheltered porch with a tall counter and seats, an ideal gathering place for family and friends either for afternoon barbecues or evening socializing.
The entryway leads to a living room, kitchen and dining area in an open floor plan, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking toward the bay and hardwood-look floors.
The living room includes a wood-burning brick fireplace and a comfortable sectional sofa, a perfect place for conversation, watching the 50-inch HDTV or reading a good book by the fire.

Kitchen and Dining
The adjacent dining room has seating for 6 at the table with several more seats available at the kitchen counter. The kitchen includes newer stainless steel appliances and plenty of counter space.

Also on this level is a dedicated laundry room with ample storage space and a washer and dryer.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Two bedrooms can be found on the upper level.
Bedroom #1 faces the bay, with views to enjoy from the spacious California King bed with luxury linens in tones of blue, aqua, white and sand. Also featured are a 42-inch HDTV and upholstered chair, as well as an en suite bath with a large shower with grab bars. Please note that this bedroom has a loft-style layout and is open to the lower level.
Bedroom #2 offers a California King bed and an en suite bath with a tub/shower combo and removable shower head.
Downstairs, Bedroom #3 has two full/double size beds, a 30-inch HDTV, two leather club chairs and local ocean artwork.
The downstairs full bath with a tub/shower combo and removable shower head is accessible from the hallway.

Several parking spots are available adjacent to the condo’s courtyard entrance and one small space in the garage.

Peaceful and Relaxing

We had a lovely stay. The view is awesome; we had the beach to ourselves, and the spacious accommodations were clean and comfortable.A couple of items were in need of repair. The back slider didn't lock until we cleaned out the rust and got the latch to open and engage. There was no blind on the largest window in the primary bedroom which meant waking up with the sun and the knob was missing on the heater in the primary bathroom.I'd very much like to visit more often as it's a wonderful place, just wish the fees and taxes weren't more than the rent!

Overall our stay was great. Easy beach access, quiet, peaceful. The house was fine, everything worked. Kitchen was equipped adequately, if with old well worn stuff. The kitchen is also too dark.

Great option for out of town workers

We rented this house for some people coming in from out of town to work with us during Monterey Car Week. Peaceful, clean, great view of the ocean. Worked great for 4 co-workers to share!

Great Experience

Everything was great with this house had plenty of Kitchen ware and very well organized, provided certain things that everyone needs when they travel. We booked this house due to its location as we were taking in the sites from Santa Cruz down to Big Sur this place was right in the middle. even though the weather was not the best we were still able to do everything we wanted including walking on the beach in the mornings. Would recommend this house to everyone and maybe someday we can come back. I also loved the fact that your organization checked in with us to make sure we were OK and if we needed anything. To me that is great customer service most places you never hear from anyone. Sharon

Family getaway

It was the absolutely perfect place for old friends to meet between the Bay Area & Fresno. The unit promoted spending time together, was very clean, & plenty of sleeping spaces when the adults & kids needed a retreat. The proximity to the ocean is unbeatable & it was absolutely amazing to sit on the deck at night & stargaze. We really enjoyed ourselves!

Beautiful location and views

I highly recommend a stay at Monterey Dunes. It is peaceful and beautiful and a wonderful place to get away and recharge. This house had everything we needed. The kitchen and bathrooms were dated, but it was spacious and comfortable. The mattresses were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The view is amazing, especially from the master bedroom. You can watch the breaking waves while lying in bed. It was comfortable for our party of 6. The clubhouse has tennis, basketball, pickleball, and bocce ball courts, a pool and a hot tub. The beach is spectacular for walks. My only complaint was the property manager's communication about early check-in and late check-out. Check-in was a 4pm and check-out was 10am. When I asked for early check in I was given the run-around for weeks. They kept telling me to ask later. I asked a few days before (when they should have known their schedule) and they said ask in the afternoon the day before our stay. I did that and they said they weren't sure but ask 30 minutes before check-in. I live two hours away so that was ridiculous. I also asked if we could check-out at 11am and was told we couldn't 10:30 was the latest we could stay, even though they said the next guests weren't coming until the next day. Not very customer friendly in their accommodating, although they sent multiple emails, texts, and even called me to see how things were.

This is a beautiful home IN the dunes! It really is a lovely surrounding and we found the house to be very comfortable. It was well equipped and roomy enough for 7 adults. Very relaxing, quiet, safe area.

Amazing getaway property

We loved staying here—two families with school age kids. It was incredibly comfortable and so close to the beach. We were out every day! Enjoyed the community hot tub as well. It had one of the best stocked kitchen with everything you need for cooking, practical items like washer, dryer, beach towels, extra blankets were all easily available. There was not one item we needed that we didn’t find! The views and beauty of the property were even better than the listing photos! We also really enjoyed the grill and private front yard area—again great for kids and for enjoying the weather.

Nice Stay

We were happy with this rental. Great views from the Master Bedroom, the home functioned well and was well supplied. The only issue was that the couch and dining room chairs were so old there were no springs left making sitting very uncomfortable.

Water pressure poor…caused shower users problems with hot& cold water. Living Room window fogged up…. Needs replacing. Third bedroom did not have a TV. There should be instructions on how to use the 4 remote controls of the Livinf Room TV.

Very Nice but could improve

The condo was nice no doubt however a couple things I did not like is there were all kinds of CD for movies in our closets and nowhere to put clothes. We lived literally out of our suitcase. I did not come there to watch hundreds of movies. Please remove 90% of them. Secondly there were 7 remotes for the TV and we all had a time trying to figure it all out and had to call to help us Please get that down to 2 or 3 please. Thanks for the stay.

Calm and serene!

Property is in a fantastic location. Quiet and serene yet you are steps to the beach. All sorts of beach gear provided or you can sit and enjoy from the back porch. A bit remote from restaurants and shopping but that is the big plus. Property folks are awesome! Friendly and helpful. The inside is a bit dated and could use some refresh but it is a beach house and you can relax and enjoy!
