Quiet, remote farmhouse

The house is nestled in the hills and only accessible by a very bumpy dirt road. The GPS doesn’t take you to the drive way, instead it leads to a nearby dead end dirt trail. The nearest town is adorable with great food options and Florence is about a 75 minute drive The property is extremely well kept. It’s a shared property with 2 other units.

Under the Tuscan Sun in Castellina in Chianti

Beautiful home in Castellina in Chianti where my daughter and I visited for the UTCC race. The property has four separate 'apartments' that share a parking lot, pool, and outdoor space. The views are amazing and the sunsets were beautiful. Our 2 Bedroom apartment was very spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed calling it 'home' for 6 nights. Frederico was very kind and attentive but not overbearing as a host. We would definitely stay again if in the area and we recommend this property. Our only suggestion to the host (but not knowing if this is typical in Italy or not) is that when staying in other VRBO homes in France and the US, we are accustomed to having some basic spices, napkins, paper towels etc stocked in the kitchen. Not sure if that's typical in Italy or not but just in case we left some for the next guest :-) Ciao and Grazie Castellina in Chianti!!

Erholung pur!

Gemeinsam mit meinem Mann und zwei weiteren Freunden mieteten wir das Apartment Federico. Das Apartment ist ausreichend groß und mit allem wichtigen ausgestattet. Die Bewohner der anderen Apartments haben wir kaum gesehen, da jeder seinen eigenen Ausenbereich hat. Da es bei unseren Aufenthalt teilweise stark regnete und die Temperaturen sanken mussten wir die Heizung nutzen. Dafür fielen noch einmal extra Kosten an. Der Pool war sehr gepflegt und die Aussicht auf Siena war großartig. Von der Unterkunft ist man innerhalb kurzer Zeit in allen großen Städten. Federico war sehr freundlich und hat bei allem Problemen sofort geholfen. Es war ein toller Aufenthalt!

Geweldig uitzicht

Een heerlijk rustige plek met een prachtig uitzicht op, in de verte, Siena (ca. half uur rijden). Het zwembad is fantastisch. In de directe omgeving is goed te wandelen. Vooral met het invallen van de avond, kun je er veel dieren tegenkomen. Castellina in Chianti, met een supermarkt en enkele leuke restaurants, ligt op ca. tien minuten rijden. De locatie bestaat uit drie ruime appartementen, die goed zijn uitgerust. Alle benodigdheden zijn er. Het is enigszins gedateerd, maar dat valt ook nog wel mee. De eigenaar was erg vriendelijk en gastvrij. Contacten verliepen gemakkelijk.

Außenanlagen mit Pool, Aussicht, Terrassen, Außensitze sehr, sehr gut, innen nur gut, weil: 1. Kaffeemaschine defekt, 2. Spüle in der Küche eher ein Unding; 3. Schlafzimmer dunkel, weil Deckenlicht fehlt 4. Geschirrspülmaschine spülte nicht sauber Insgesamt aber für Leute, die die Ruhe genießen wollen, absolut empfehlenswert.

Horrible Experience

Booked a few days ahead of time, and paid deposit, but ran into problems coordinating the border crossing the next day due to Brexit, so I immediately notified housing manager, and asked if they could rent to someone else over the weekend since it did not look like we could make it and it was within 24hrs of our original booking and still over 24hrs before we were to arrive. But instead of being understanding, they demanded the rest of the deposit for the rest of the weekend, because of there "no cancellation" policy. And then threatened us that they were taking it to their legal before we were even set to arrive. We paid the full amount anyway, because that was the VRBO policy, but it was for a stay we never got to use. And it was a case when the owner was notified ahead of time and they did not previously have the property booked the day before anyway. In my thirty years of booking hotels, lodging, etc. I have never encountered such an uncaring, inflexible, and rude host. Buyer beware, it may seem like a good deal, but Frederico or Biagio do not have your best interest nor your families benefit at heart. I get the impression, they are either desperate for money or really just didn't give a crap about us. I don't know the reason, but we are good people and try to communicate effectively. But our end result was that this family on a budget had to pay for a separate place in France to stay for the same time period. Biagio never offered to amend the stay or comp us for a day or two, or offer another time to stay, etc. I have had better services and hosts in the worst neighborhoods in big cities. Don't let the pictures and description of this place hide the true nature of the host/owner. We cannot say what the property was like, so that is up to you to figure out, we had to rate the location on the VRBO app even though we did not stay there to submit the review. So to be fair, it may be a nice place to stay, but my family and I will choose to stay with someone else next time we come to Italia. Someone that hopefully treats others with courtesy, dignity and respect. We may have to pay a little more, but probably not double what we had to pay this time for no service.

Chillig mit herrlichem Weitblick auf Siena.

Durch Zufall bin ich auf das etwas abgelegene Feriendomizil gestossen. Ew sollte schattige Bäume für den Hundespaziergang, einen Pool und Parkmöglichkeit beinhalten. Einen Grill und am Liebsten nicht zu weit weg für Ausflüge. Das war perfekt! Und der Kontakt zum Vermieter schnell und sehr zuvorkommend! Rundum ein perfekter Urlaub! Jederzeit wieder…

Sensationeller Blick

Fantastic holiday

Thanks to Federico and family for a fantastic stay at Il Poggino. We enjoyed the Federico apartment very much with the splendid terrace with a view as well as the infinity pool with a view to Siena. Castellina is only a short drive away and has great restaurants.

High-quality and very beautiful property in Tuscany

We, 2 adults and 2 kids, spent 2 weeks in apartment Biagio. Communication and check in was very easy with Federico. After arrival we felt right at home. The property is very well maintained and clean as a whole. The access to the property is about 2 km via a gravel road, which is easy to drive with a normal car. Sports Cars will possibly get problems. The view over Siena is unique and the garden is beautiful. The swimming pool is also beautiful, and clean and offers unique views over the hills of Siena. Federico and his family are always friendly and helpful and maintain the property daily. Once a week there is a dinner for all guests. The apartment Biagio is located on the first floor (not ground level) to the rear of the property and consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open kitchen and living and dining room. Once a week you can change bed linen and towels. The terrace is facing the morning sun and it was very hot in the mornings. We found it a bit annoying to always carry the food downstairs, so we mostly ate upstairs in the dining room. But we used the terrace in the afternoon. In particular, we found the mattress and the bed in the master bedroom unsatisfactory. Even though Federico and his father tried to find a remedy, we didn't sleep so well. Overall we had a nice holiday and enjoyed both the property and the excursions in the surrounding area. Thank you to Federico and to his family.

Un po spaventoso ma ottima location con vista

Diamo 4 stelle solamente perchè essendo abituati alla città ci siamo trovati un pò spaesati, il posto è senza dubbio bellissimo,per un buon soggiorno bisogna rimboccarsi le maniche per andare a prendere un po di legna, per risparmiare un po con il riscaldamento, però splendida location e ottima vista,vicino poche attrazioni, non consiglio una permanenza di più di 4 notti ma parlo per me che hi bisogno di fare attività,se si vuole liberare la mente e stare in tranquillità e riposo ci si può stare parecchio tempo.

Traumhaftes Domizil

Wir haben eine Woche in der Ferienwohnung Biagio verbracht. Die Wohnung liegt im Obergeschoss, ist großzügig geschnitten und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Pool mit dem Ausblick ist ein Traum, auch ist der Garten sehr gepflegt und mit Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Wir hatten dort absolute Ruhe und Erholung. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Perfect place to unwind

The best views in the whole of Tuscany, with the rolling hills and Siena in the horizon. Secluded and away from the hustle and bustle and other tourists...perfect place to unwind. You can see the milkyway at night. Pick fresh herbs from the garden for dinner. Cool off with a dip in the pool. Beautiful place.

We had a lovely stay and were made very welcome by owners Federico and his family. Although there are several apartments on the site it is very quiet and each has lots of privacy.
