"This place is fantastic. A close walk to the train station- convenient walk to everything and the place is great. Large, comfortable, really well appointed and immaculately clean. Everyone loved it. The soaking rub was fantastic and it kept the water hot for over an hour!!! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Takayama. We stayed as a family with three kids and everyone said it was their favourite place we’ve stayed at!!"

"An excellent Ryokan with lovely staff. We felt very well cared for. Thank you very much for your hospitality. The breakfast is spectacular. As advised by the owners, this is a very very traditional old house (it’s the whole point of the experience), so one should not expect hotel things like black out blinds, or soundproofing."

"Ryokan für Anfänger: Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und geduldig, und erklärt alles. Unser Zimmer war geräumig und gemütlich, das Onsen wirklich angenehm. Das japanische Frühstück muss man mögen. Die europäische Variante ist eher dürftig."

"Very close to station but a 2o min walk to town! Had washer and stove in unit but didn’t use them. Need coffee in room. Need more pillows and pillow was dirty."

"We had a nice one-night stay here. Bedrooms were much bigger than anticipated and we were able to utilize the washer/dryer which was a plus. Very close to the train station."

"Great tranquil space and wonderful staff"

"We liked the hotel…It was a little crowded at breakfast due to large tour groups…We could not eat dinner at the hotel the first night due to the tours, though I message property days before my stay..The dining room buffet area is too small..The night we had dinner they ran out of Caesar salad by 6:30 pm? Takayama really lacks dinner places due to tourism..Make reservations early !"

"Big rooms, nice people, great location, excellent onsen !"

"Très beau on s’en grand un vieillot mais très bien entretenu"

"Excellent! Great hotel for families."

"It was nicely finished comfortable room, details were well thought out and convenient. The bed was comfortable and i slept very well, thank you."

"Great for family. Very central location. We were able to walk to all the major sites in Takayama. Also access to the 7-11 across the street was amazing. Free parking was a plus!"

"Great stay"

"This hotel was next level. From the amazing, friendly staff to the Hilton level amenities and standards. We were greeted in fluent English by super friendly staff to what seemed like a very empty resort. We believe it only seemed empty due to renovations to the second tower. We booked a private onsen for your family at the front desk and went to our beautiful room. The buffet dinner was fantastic and to follow the breakfast buffet was equally amazing. Best hotel we have stayed at so far on our...

"Location is the best - central to everything one might need . Rooms are pigeon hole"
