"What I didn't like was to this date I've been at the California Hotel twice this year and both times it seems they have an elevator problem first time which was in February 2 elevators were non functioning & just this June one elevator was not functioning in same tower. "

"This is a nice and clean place to stay if you want to be super close to Fremont downtown on a budget! Only four stars because although it is pet friendly it is not a place to bring your dog if your dog barks when alone. Which mine did! The staff were very nice and accommodating about the situation and worked with us which was great. I was just completely unaware that would be an issue until about an hour before we checked in despite having called and asked the rules on dogs a number of times...

"Staff at check-in were great. I was super early and they offered to hold bags and text me when the earliest room was available. Very professional and cheerful when I came back and the entire process was quick. Great big room and the largest bathroom in all downtown Vegas. "

"This location is so perfect for Fremont street. Not that far of a walk and not that close to hear all the noise. Close to so many good options. I really enjoyed the place because going in and to the room, EVERY SINGLE person was so nice. I felt safe going into my room with all the security checks they did. "The property was clean. Check-in was fast and efficient. We were upgraded to a Jr Suite and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and price of our room. Sure they may not be on the main part of the strip, but with the good room prices, one can afford a Lyft/Uber.🙂 "
