I booked Hotel OR through Expedia during a trip to Colombia. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. Due to a medical emergency caused by an attempted robbery in Medellín that resulted in a serious knee injury, I was forced to change my travel dates. I contacted Expedia immediately and asked only to move my stay to match my new flights, not for a refund. Despite this, the hotel refused any flexibility and charged me for a four-day stay I physically could not attend. In good faith, I rebooked the hotel for my new dates and ended up paying twice. When I arrived and attempted to resolve this in person, management was cold, dismissive, and denied any communication from Expedia. The room conditions were unacceptable. The first room shown was dirty and clearly not what I paid for. The second room did not match the advertised photos. There was visible mold on walls and under the air conditioner, bugs in the room, no hot water, a broken TV, a non-functioning safe, and no refrigerator despite being listed. Bedding consisted of only a sheet and small throw. Amenities were also misleading. The advertised “full breakfast” does not exist; there is no buffet and basic items cost extra. The rooftop breakfast area appeared unhygienic. The pool was cloudy, dirty, and unusable, and there is no hot tub despite listings suggesting otherwise. This property is poorly maintained, misleadingly advertised, and managed with little regard for guests. I would not recommend it.
