  • Get ready for a relaxing stay with your family or friends! This unique, freshly remodeled, Carmi home offers a BEAUTIFUL lake view, 4 bedrooms with all new beds, and 2.5 new bathrooms. Feel free to bring your fishing poles and swimsuits and take advantage of the peaceful Pontca Lake right out your doorstep. Renting this home gives you full access to the 25 acre lake and newly renovated private beach area. It’s a perfect lake for swimming, fishing, canoeing or kayaking! We provide a kayak and a swim mat! This property also sits right by the Carmi Country Club for all avid golfers!

The communication and house/property were fantastic. The beach was lovely but the lake, likely due to the fact that the water level was very low and the air temperature very hot, was less than ideal. Several of the men removed leeches, there was occasionally a smell that smelled like sewage, and there appeared to be some type of larval activity at the entrance where the water was particularly hot. Several times we had to remove "creatures" from our legs when we got out of the water after sitting on the edge. These factors limited the time we were hoping to enjoy in the lake and no one wanted to even bother on the last day fearing repeat experiences.

Lovely location and layout

Lovely stay. The location is amazing, not only on a lake, but right across the road from the golf course. Fantastic layout in the home, spacious and plenty of bedrooms and separate and together spaces. The best neighbors here, they are a delight. Early morning sunrise and watching all the wild life in the lake is so peaceful.The Garden of the Gods is a must see.The hostess/host are wonderful.

Excellent place!!

Such a beautiful home. Very cozy and well taken care of. The lake front is beautiful and was a sweet place to have morning coffee. A definite place to check out when in southern Illinois!

Very nice

The property was just as advertised. Very spacious living area, great kitchen, 6 of us stayed so we used 3 of the bedrooms, and the 2 1/2 baths were great too!! Looks like they are working on the deck and dock area, should be very nice to enjoy on better weather days - too cold now for thin blooded people from the south. Thanks for a great stay!!!

Family get away

This property was perfect for a close get away with our kids and grandkids. It was even better than the listing. Tons if room in the house and outside. The beach was awesome the grandkids loved it and fishing. Wound definitely boom again. The owner was wonderful to work with.

What a great stay!

This property is great. The interior of the house was beautiful. Lots of room, great amenities, and beautiful furnishings. If you’re looking for a place on a lake to just spend time and relax, this is the place.

Great 2 Family Get Away

The home was clean, up to date, and was a great spot to spend time with two families. The decks look rickety, and we avoided a couple boards, but managed to catch 8 fish. YEAH! The kids had fun swimming by the beach, the foam pad was a hit. We did bring a couple air matresses as the double beds were a little small for our kids to share. Only change I would make is, I wish there was a crock pot. :)

Perfect Getaway

My friends & I enjoyed a wonderful extended weekend here as a girls getaway. We enoyed the privacy of each having our own rooms, making meals in the well equipped kitchen & relaxing out by the water. The setting was beautuful, peaceful & relaxing. We also enjoyed the use of the gas grill & kayak.

Great stay!

The pictures don't do this house justice! It is so spacious, clean and well stocked. It was very peaceful, we enjoyed the beach that was private. The kayak and the Lilly pad were a big hit for the kids. Overall an amazing property.

Excellent modern gathering place for the family.

This was the perfect venue for our family to gather as we celebrated the life our loved one. All the finishes were new and clean. There was plenty of seating and a large table for meals. Master was big with plenty of room. We are so thankful this was an option for our family, so we could stay right there in Carmi together. Wonderful views over the water. The fireplace was nice to have as well. Owners were great to work with and we will book this one again when we come to town for sure.
