We were in town for kiddos graduation at SIU and this property is way better than a hotel. Just 25 minutes or so away from campus and a hop skip and a jump from Blue Sky winery, this hidden gem awaits you. Perfect cabin for a quiet getaway. There were a couple of dips in driveway due to erosion that made it difficult for our low clearance car to get through but we managed and owner was very helpful. Once we got to the log cabin the main entrance was easy to get into, well lit and had a cozy patio for an evening fire. We woke up to birds chirping and tons of wild life frolicking nearby that we watched while sipping on our morning coffee on the deck. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you might need to cook a meal. Loved the unique kitchen island. We highly recommend this property!

This cabin was everything we were looking for. It was quiet and secluded, no traffic noise at all. The cabin itself was extremely clean, nicely furnished and well maintained. We appreciated the owner's hospitable gestures such as providing charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. With numerous nearby hiking trails to pick from we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend staying here.

We were looking for a quiet place to relax between our adventures around southern IL. This cabin was perfect. It was clean, had anything we needed (except wi-fi), the front porch, back porch and surroundings provided a peaceful place to enjoy the outdoors. We would recommend this to others or even go back again ourselves.

Booking At Joanne’s “Cabin on the Hill” property proved to be the most wonderful experience, from booking to checkout! Beautifully decorated, well-stocked, and all the comforts of home, this property offers, privacy and with full appreciation of nature! Great location and close to many nature trails and wineries! We would definitely stay here again!

This cabin was perfect. Very clean and very secluded. No wifi, and no cell service for mint mobile. It was peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was extremely well stocked, and the owner was so great and easy to communicate with. We will definitely be back!

You will not regret booking this beautiful quaint cabin in the woods. The place was clean and had absolutely everything we could think off. The owner was communicative, making sure everything was good with our stay. We would love to return in the spring when everything is green and alive! Highly recommend this property for a relaxing get away.

Our stay was so peaceful and kick backed with every comfort you could want! The fire pit and screened porch was such a Sanctuary! Enjoyed coffee from the front porch every morning. We watched deer coming down the lane in the early morning from the kitchen. Lots of wildlife at night to hear...great horned owls and coyotes howling. Starlit nights and watching the moon rise. This place is a must on your bucket list!! The host has the highest rating in our book!!

Very peaceful. Set back away from other properties. It was a little hard to find at night but once we found the right place, it was amazing. Close to blue sky and feather hills wineries. We relaxed by the fire pit. The house was very clean. Had most anything we would need. No Wi-Fi and very limited cell service but that’s what was nice about it. We unplugged and enjoyed each other’s company. We will definitely be returning.

The cabin was very pretty and very well appointed. It was comfortable and quiet which is exactly what we wanted. The location was good - near wineries and other interesting places plus it was a short ride (less than an hour) to Garden of the Gods in Shawnee National Forest. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the quiet, have a nice evening sitting on the patio around a nice fire, enjoy a meal on the screened-in porch, or stargazing, this is the place.
