  • Esta hermosa casa está justo en la playa de arena de azúcar de Florida, que a menudo está deshabitada, excepto por aves zancudas, cangrejos fantasmas, águila pescadora y róbalo. Esta propiedad cuenta con acceso directo a la playa para que pueda caminar directamente hacia la playa y hacia el Golfo de México. Hay un gran número de aves zancudas, tortugas terrestres, mapaches, pelícanos marrones, águilas pescadoras, garzas, cormoranes, águilas calvas, ibis y truchas. Hay dos piscinas muy agradables mantenidas por nuestro club de la isla a una corta distancia a pie o en carro de golf desde nuestra casa. Kayaks y bicicletas también están disponibles sin cargo a través del club de la isla. El sábalo, la trucha de mar, el pez rojo, el róbalo y el pargo pueden ser capturados desde la orilla. Los bombardeos son una actividad diaria en la isla. North Captiva a menudo se describe como la capital de bombardeos de América del Norte.

    Debido a que la casa se encuentra en la costa oeste de North Captiva, a menudo somos testigos de impresionantes puestas de sol que se pueden observar desde su dormitorio o la cubierta posterior. No olvides tu cámara para ayudar a capturar algunos recuerdos. Si tienes suerte, puedes ver a Dolphin jugando en las olas, Tarpon mostrando más allá de los primeros rompientes y la legendaria entrada de la pesca del pelícano pardo. Este tiene que ser uno de los lugares más bonitos e inusuales que jamás hayas visto.

The location of this house is unbelievable. We had an incredible time at this property. Getting there isn’t easy and buying groceries or anything needed requires lots of extra planning and money but the setting and easy access to the most beautiful parts of this beach are absolutely worth every penny and all the effort.

The location of this house cannot be beat!! I would absolutely stay here again. The only challenge was the 3rd bedroom/2nd bathroom was not attached to the main living space and the rest of our group, but it didn't ruin our experience. We loved watching dolphins from the deck every day. No one ever set up in front of our house so we felt like we had our own private beach. The kids loved the outdoor shower.

This was the 2nd time at the house and it was great. The house was fantastic. The scenery was unbelievable and overall with a wonderful time. Look forward to going back again in the future.

We had another wonderful stay at Beaches Edge. There were several updates done on the home since our last stay that made a world of difference! We look forward to coming back next year.

Overall the property presents a stunning setting and access to the beach. We had some issues that we promptly answered or taken care of by the property management company. The only compliant is the bed mattresses were extra firm and a little hard to sleep on depending on what you are used to. Definitely would rent this property again. Duncan with the property management company was great as well.

Best location on the island in my opinion, great sunset views and right on the beach.Had some minor issues with the golf cart batteries, but really not a big deal since there isn't really anything to drive to. Enjoy the location and stay put.One thing that isn't clear from the pics and listing is that the master suite is on the first level, disconnected from the main upper level that has the kitchen, hot tub (it's on the upper deck now), etc. So you have to go outside and up some exterior steps between that room and the main house. Not a big deal, unless it's raining or something.Overall, highly recommended and I would return.

Stunning!

Stunning sunset views from the deck! It just might be the perfect beach house, the water is closer than it appears in the pictures. The house has been beautifully updated since the pics in the listing. North Captiva is the perfect plus to unplug and relax. Added bonus that the beds and linens were very comfortable.

Amazing view and very private beach

Very comfortable beach house. Felt fine putting our feet up, collecting shells and our favorite activity was watching the sunset. This is a million dollar view!! Lovely owners and management team!! Already booked again for next year!!

Spectacular location

This house was better than I could have imagined. This was our first visit to North Captiva and I could not have picked a better location to stay. The views are priceless. We loved everything about the island and the house and will be back for certain. The property owner and management co was easy to work with and provided us with everything we needed and then some. Thank you so much for making this a wonderful week of memories and fabulous shelling!

Beaches edge is amazing!!

We loved staying here!!!! The house was perfect!!! The oven and beach area was amazing!!! Such perfect sunsets. We couldn’t have asked for a better week! The only thing is the downstairs is completely separate from the upstairs! BUT it worked in our favor!!! My parents stayed down there and had privacy from my husband and I with our kids!! It was so so good!!

Island Home

Awesome location right on beach, never crowded, a short walk from the wild preserve beaches, and a four mile walk along the gulf shore to the bottom of the island. We explored the whole island, kayaks were also great for exploring the canals and seeing manitee. The house is perfect, dinette sets and chairs on upper and lower decks, along with a great swing on the lower deck; perfect view of the beach and the sunset each night. The island club pools and hot tub are also nice! Shally’s managemanet team are awesome, hospitable, and excellent communicators. Thanks so much also for the perfect grocery shopping and delivery!

Best spot on the island!

This was our second time staying at Beach’s Edge and it continues to be our favorite vacation spot. Easily the best views in the island right from your deck! The house is perfect and the addition of the hot tub on the upper deck made our stay even more fun. Kids loved playing on the beach, collecting shells and taking in amazing sunsets. We saw dolphins, osprey, manatee, tortoises etc! This house has plenty of room and had been nicely updated since we last stayed. Downstairs area was a great spot for the grandparents to join us and have their own space! Property managers made the stay easy from checking in to heading out. You can find bigger homes on North Cap but none that are worth the location you give up. You won’t regret choosing Beach s Edge!

Incredible stay!

Our family had a perfect weeklong stay at Beaches Edge. It was our first time to the island and we were a little nervous at first about the remoteness of it all, but that turned out to be the best part—we were forced to disconnect and relax. We loved the beach view/access and made sure to catch the sunset every night, often from the deck. One night, a bunch of dolphins played right out front of the house just before sunset! Our kids (ages 3 & 7) spent hours playing in the sand and finding seashells. Access to the island club was a nice perk, especially on a windy day when the ocean was a little rough. The kids loved the pool and we enjoyed getting lunch at Mangoes. Grocery delivery (and the midweek fresh fish delivery) made everything very easy. All in all, it was just what our busy family needed and we can’t wait to return!

Too many cooks

Maybe some kind of checklist to know where to go and what to do. Seems like the miscommunication between the owner and the property manager and all involved was liking..the house was supposed to be finished. The contractor was supposed to be out of there. And it just didn't happen.

Amazing Sunsets

Overall the property had most everything just a few things that were inconvenient like no wash cloths or throw rugs to catch some of the dirt and sand. I'm a clean nut so I spent a lot of time sweeping the floor with a terrible broom. The landscape needs attention looks messy from the hurricane. Little things but could mean big things in the long run.

Stranded

The location of the home is amazing. The 3rd bedroom is separate from the rest of the house. House manager Duncan is awful. He never gave us his contact info. Hot tub cover kept blowing off so could not use kitchen sink clogged. Bath tub clogged. Cart kept breaking down. It is the only way to get around the island. We could not go to club to swim or go to restaurants. When we asked for another cart they would send repair person. All fixed!! Wrong broken down again. This went on for two weeks Do Not Rent!!!

Another great vacation in the books

This is the only place for us. We love Beaches Edge. The views are the best on the beach. And words cannot describe how beautiful the sunsets are. The house has everything you need. Alicia is awesome to work with. Upon arrival Tortuga Properties we’re the best at taking care of us while we were there. We will definitely be back next year for another relaxing vacation.

Location is the best thing

We had a great stay on North Captiva at Beaches Edge. The location is great. One of the closest homes to the beach and sunsets are a nightly event. We had a family if 5 and it was the right size home for us. Only 1 bathroom, but we all cooperated. It is an older home and others reviews are accurate on both the positives and negatives. We stayed in June of 2022 and the two things that I would suggest to future renters as the house sits today are this: 1. The water is on a well and they do have a filter, but there still is a taste to it. If you don't like well water, then just bring in extra water of your own or plan to buy some at Mangos. 2. In the summertime, the sun shines brightly against the house in the afternoons. Even with the blinds closed, the house will get warm. Usually 80 degrees or so before cooling off late in the evening. I noticed many previous reviewers said the same. Regardless, it was a minor inconvenience for us. Overall we had a great time and if you love the beach and the location then beaches edge might be for you too.

We had an amazing time. This was our first trip to the island. We were a bit nervous in the beginning but the owners and the property managers were so helpful. We can not wait to go back.

We couldn’t have asked for a better spot for our stay on North Captiva! This location is just the best, shells and sunset can’t be beat here. We loved everything about it and can’t wait to go back! Seriously heavenly!

Nice view but that’s it.

The location of this place was beautiful. Stunning sunsets out your windows. The place though, for what we paid, I was expecting better quality. It was very worn…floors were very ruff, well used for sure. Chairs broken, bathroom shelfs barley hanging on the wall, cracked counter top. But mostly it was not clean. We arrived a day late because of travel and when we arrived the cleaning ladies are still cleaning. Floors still wet. The manager did his best to delay us when arriving. First he arrived 30 min late to pick us up. We had to sit and wait after we got off the boat with our groceries from a long day of travel. The house had sand on the floor, hair in the dirty tub, the pillows in the couch were filthy, peanut butter on the chairs. Even the pictures on the wall were all crooked. The huge sliding glass doors had so many finger prints. It was obvious that they did not clean well, not just being picky. I had to take time to clean but there is nothing to clean with. I had to use hot soapy water and threw everything in the washer, pillows and shower curtain, which had mold and hair on. The golf cart worked fine for us, just very worn and Rattled because it’s very rusty. My son stayed down stairs and it was very musty, think mold issue, not sure. The beds were extremely hard in the master. My husband had to sleep on the couch, pillows were flat. Overall, we were super disappointed with this place for the price we paid. The view is amazing, but that’s it. When your on vacation, you should have a clean place with a comfortable bed. Period.
