'A Bayview Beauty' sits 100 Yards from the Chesapeake bay on a quiet, crape myrtle lined blvd. Relax and enjoy views of the bay from the huge screened front porch, LR and second floor BRs. Take your beach umbrella and chairs to spend the day at the family friendly beach...just steps from the front porch. Refresh after a day at the beach with the outdoor shower. Enter into the tiled mudroom to change and shower. Dine in..fully equipped kitchen, dining room seats eight comfortably. OR.. walk 3 blocks to restaurants/shopping district . Relax in the casual LR with comfy furniture and game table. Two new queen/ two twin pillow top beds in 3 BRs complete the day! Linens provided. Sleeps 6. The house has been lovingly updated, keeping it's original charm. Freshly painted and decorated in beach colors and themes, providing a clean, restful atmosphere. Town safety inspection certificate in home. Relax, rest and refresh.. RESERVE NOW!!

Guest Amenities/information: Guest departure cleaning is provided by a professional housekeeping service. The home has been approved by the town's safety code inspector with certificate issued and is located in our Welcome Binder. Additional pamphlets /info are available in our home as well as at the new Welcome Center south of town on Rt.13 near the CBBT.

Surrounding area/places to visit: The beach is located 100 yards from our front door. The town's fishing pier, shops and restaurants, public library, post office and places of worship are just a few blocks away. Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses, open to the public, with pro-shop and 'Coach House' restaurant are a 2-3 min.drive. The marina with 'Oyster Farm' restaurant and shops are located at the opposite end of town. Driving S on Rt.13 you will find a Food lion grocery store, ABC store, Dollar General, McDonald's and various businesses unique to the area. Kiptopeke state park, a National wild life refuge, and new Welcome center are located close to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Crossing the CBBT is Virginia Beach and Norfolk/Int. airport (35-40 min), Botanical Gardens. Newport News airport, Historic Williamsburg/Busch Gardens (1-1 1/2 hrs) on Rt. 64 from Cape Charles. Chincoteague-Assateague, and Tangier Island are north on highway 13, making these great day trips! Explore the eastern shore or just relax on the beach!!

The house was as listed and the photos give a fair idea of what to expect. It has old home charm with no modern updates, but it was clean, functional, and had plenty of space for our family. The location was great — an easy walk to the beach — which made our stay even better. We also appreciated the hose in the backyard and the strong water pressure in the shower (with helpful notes from the host on how to adjust it).One thing to note for future guests is that there’s no Wi-Fi and the TVs don’t support streaming — just a collection of DVDs and VHS tapes. It wasn’t what we expected, but we made do and it encouraged more family time together.Overall, the house worked well for our stay, and as long as you’re comfortable with a more traditional setup, it’s a nice spot in a great location.

This is a quant beach house. Some peculiarities in our opinion as I’ve never been asked to wash laundry or linens at a VRBO especially when paying a cleaning fee. Also, the bathrooms need updates due to local water conditions staining and making the tub and bowls look unfavorable. Shower curtains need to be changed more often if local water conditions discolor and make the areas look unclean. On a positive note, the home is very close to the beach. Just note that you must bring your own beach chairs, towels and make sure to read the details of the listing for all amenities (i.e., WiFi..)

This cozy home was wonderful: very short walk to the beach. Everything was well stocked and easy to find. It was a very relaxing experience overall.

Overall great experience and would stay again. Proximity to beach was great. Games, Puzzles, and DVD collection was a fun bonus for the kids. A few minor improvements could put this place over the top. Because they’re older, some doors don’t close fully and none of them lock. Some extension cords with charging stations in the bedrooms would be a nice touch. The lower level does get warmer than the upper level but the fans help make it manageable. We did appreciate the number of hooks available for hanging wet towels and swimsuits. The beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. The outdoor hose and shower and the indoor mud room shower were great. Off street parking and outlet for a golf cart was also nice. Great experience overall and the owners were very helpful with any questions. Another fun summer at Cape Charles.

Bay Cottage was charming, comfortable and the location was just perfect. We could walk to the beach in less than a minute. It is well stocked and beds were very comfortable. We loved the layout and the boys loved all the games. We especially enjoyed the big screened in porch in the evening and the outdoor shower in the back for getting all the sand off. Our hosts were wonderful and communicated with us from the time we booked and even called once we got settled to make sure we had everything we needed. We highly recommend Bay Cottage!

Great location but unwelcoming and uncomfortable rental experience

My wife and I stayed here for our 28th wedding anniversary. We’ve been staying regularly at rentals in Cape Charles for over 15 years and this was easily the most unwelcoming experience we’ve ever had. It started with an extra contract we had to sign and return and a weird way to pay. We were called immediately after we arrived which may have been a coincidence but felt weirdly timed. There were rules posted in many places in all caps and detailed lists of what to do and what not to do. We just generally felt unwelcome and uncomfortable the entire time. The water smelled like boiled eggs and hot water lasted for 1 shower. There’s no WiFi, one small TV with basic cable. I’m sure all these details are clearly listed in the description but after staying at many similar rentals, this was not an enjoyable experience for us.

Highly Recommend the Bayview Beauty

We loved our short stay here. The cottage was very nice and located in a great spot. You could see the water from the screened in front porch. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable and clean!The owners were awesome at communicating and everything was a breeze.We love Cape Charles and will definitely stay here when we come back!

Quick get-a-way

We planned a quick get-a-way and decided to come to Cape Charles to spend the day and stay over night. The house was charming with plenty of room. The owners communicated well and they were very accommodating on my last minute trip planning. The beach wasn’t far at all and town was in walking distance with nice weather. We came in March so it wasn’t perfect beach weather but we are hoping to come back when it’s warmer!

Hidden treasure!

Cape Charles is a quaint, charming little town! The house was very welcoming, comfortable and full of charm!! So close to the beach and main shopping street. The screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails! Sad to leave, but look forward to coming back!

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful week at the Bayview Beauty. The home is comfortable, the kitchen is great to cook in, we loved sitting on the front screen porch and the location cannot be beat.

Beautiful house in a perfect location

We only stayed a couple of nights to visit with family who were in Cape Charles for a week. This house was perfect for our family. Clean, beautiful, well appointed, comfortable beds, wonderful hosts. The location was great - less than one block to the beach and a short walk to town. I parked and did not drive again until we left. The screened front porch was a great spot for family to gather. I adore this house!!

Charming home and town

We enjoyed our first time in Cape Charles and hope to go back to spend more time. This rental is a very charming older home in a neighborhood filled with the same! The home had everything we needed inside and landscaping and w wonderful front porch to enjoy outside. Loved that we could park the car and walk to shops, restaurants and to the beach. Looking forward to another visit.

Gem in Cape Charles!

This house has so much charm! It was very clean, so comfortable, and just perfect for a weekend getaway in beautiful Cape Charles! The owner was incredibly responsive and courteous. We will definitely stay here again!

Fun Girls Getaway

My friend and I rented the Bay Cottage for a relaxing fun weekend in Cape Charles. This was our first visit to the area. The location is great, not even a block to the beach. We were able to park the car Friday and walked all over town and didn't get back in the car until we left. The water pressure in the shower is fantastic. The house was clean when we arrived. Loved sitting on the front porch talking. Visiting Cape Charles was fun. There are several unique shops and restaurants and friendly people.
