A true West Texas experience , Golf retreat and 20 min. to Palo Duro Canyon

When you walk through the barn doors, you feel like you've stepped into the adventurous West. There are several paintings and prints on the wall of local artists and several western books for you to peruse. Come and enjoy the allure of the West at our casita located in the barn beside our home.
The Casita is new construction and full of modern amenities.

Amenities include:

-Full handicap accessibility (including a roll in shower)
-Parking on site for 2 vehicles
-Master bedroom with 1 king bed and closet
-Bunk room with 4 twin beds and closet
-WiFi
-Bluetooth speaker
-TV equipped with local channels and Google TV
-Electric fireplace
-Private yard with outdoor fire pit

The gathering room is large with a seating area, dining table, and kitchen with island. It is adorned with decorations that give you a true taste of West Texas. The bathroom is large and beautifully decorated with Mexican tile, an antique door and bench for dressing. The bathroom has a spacious walk in shower, but a bathtub is not included.
Our Casita is in a quiet, family neighborhood built on the top of the canyon in Canyon Country Club. For this reason, we ask that you keep noise level low, especially after 10 p.m. Our neighborhood has a semi-private 9 hole golf course, which you are welcome to book for a tee time. We have a golf cart for your use if you would like to go down the hill to the pro shop. The canyon is home to a lot of wildlife including deer, turkey, owls and much more. We are 5 minutes from West Texas A&M University (and welcome family of the students), and the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum (the largest in Texas). Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the United States and has many hiking and mountain biking trails for the outdoor enthusiast, and it’s just a quick 20 minute drive from our place. The musical, TEXAS, is also at Palo Duro Canyon and runs from June to August. The square in Canyon is only minutes away and has several fantastic restaurants such as, Sayakomarn’s, Joe Taco, and the Rockin’ Zebra Soda Shoppe. Feldman's, Green Chile Willy's, and Bears Burgers and Dawgs are also near. We are also 20 minutes from Amarillo which has lots more restaurants like the well-known Big Texan, and activities like Amarillo Art Museum, Symphony, and Ballet, the historic Route 66, the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum, Wonderland, Cadillac Ranch and the new SodPoodles AAA baseball team.
We have a playground for children to play supervised by parents, and a tandem bicycle upon request. You will be welcomed with snacks and a few drinks, but also by our golden retriever, Sadie. She loves visitors! We want you to enjoy your time here, capture the sunsets and sunrises, relax and spend some time in the Panhandle.

A Special Place

The casita is exactly as advertised. It is in a lovely little neighborhood but in the country-5 deer smiling at us close to the driveway as we arrived home last night. It’s cozy, clean, and welcoming. The couple of little questions we had when we checked in were immediately answered by the hosts. If you’re n the area, this is the place to stay.

Cool western themed home.

Needed a place to stay for a night on our cross country journey and this was perfect. Nicely decorated, private. Visited the canyon to the south. Definitely worth it. Well stocked with everything we needed, plus some. Only wish was that we either could have stayed longer or weren’t in such a hurry to move onto our next destination, so we could have enjoyed the outdoor area. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay again.

Perfect size cabin

We had a great time here. Close to Canyon, but still out far enough for peace and quiet in the evening. The cabin was well stocked and had everything we need for an easy stay. Will definitely be back.

Great experience.

Stayed for just one night. My family and I loved the casita. It has a Cowboy Texas decor going on. Pictures do not do it justice. Very well kept, clean and fresh. You cant go wrong staying here.

Peaceful Charm

Enjoyable stay

We wanted to break up a trip to Santa Fe and the barn/casita was a great choice. Very convenient to our morning visit to Palo Duro Canyon and dining in Canyon. The casita was very clean and had everything we needed, we loved the west Texas decor.

One of our favorites

The attention to detail in this place for our family was amazing. The children’s room had no windows so we didn’t have to fool with trying to rig up black out curtains. Each bunk had a little controllable night light so we didn’t have to worry about that either. We loved our little stay and when we’re back this way, we’ll stay again.

Canyon Casita

The Casita is exactly as described. They home is decorated perfectly, no detailed spared. The beds and couch were very comfortable. The owners put a lot of thought into the Casita, very well maintained, very clean and very loved. We were very pleased with our choice and if we are every in Canyon, TX again we will definitely stay in Canyon Casita. P.s.- we met the owners and their new pup and they are lovely family.

Beautifully decorated quiet first class accommodation We would highly recommend and would stay here again. You will not be disappointed in this beautiful barn. Ligon’s stop through

We stayed in this property just for the night on our way through Amarillo. After staying we know we will book this again in the future for our next drive to vacation in Breckenridge. The family was so kind and so welcoming. Just a wonderful experience all around.
