THE WHALE OF A VIEW IS EVEN BETTER NOW WITH A REMODELED KITCHEN WITH COFFEE BAR AND TILED BATHROOM NEW FOR 2024! CEILING RAISED WITH SHIPLAP. Look at the pictures the views are unmatched! The Whale of a View Cottage is nestled in the woods sitting directly above the Passamaquoddy Bay. Located on Campobello Island, home of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Summer home and International Park, the cottage offers spectacular and close-up views of whales, eagles, seals, porpoises, ospreys and other wildlife from the house or the beautiful screened in Gazebo atop a cliff overlooking the water. Enjoy sunbathing and the beautiful sunsets on the deck attached to the Gazebo. Watch sailboats, fishing and cargo ships pass right outside your window. It is a special and private retreat. The cottage is within walking distance of the most photographed lighthouse in New Brunswick and connected by bridge to the US mainland at Lubec, Maine 04652 Head Harbor Wharf is within walking distance for Whale Watch and fishing trips as well as to watch the local fisherman at work. This cute house is fully furnished as a vacation home.

Imagine sitting in a boat on the ocean, so close to a whale that you can look it in the eye!

The Bay of Fundy is a marine paradise because the waters of the bay are important feeding grounds for many whales, dolphins, porpoises, seals and sea birds. Watch humpbacksâ the clowns of the sea frolic and breech, marvel at the huge finbacks, and meet the friendly minke (pronounced "ming key" whales. If you are lucky, you might even spot the Atlantic White Sided Dolphins or the rare North Atlantic right whale (one of the rarest in the world). YOU CAN ALSO SEE THE WHALES PASS BY THE COTTAGES OFTEN AS THEY FEED RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE COTTAGES. YOU CAN WATCH THEM FROM THE PRIVACY OF YOUR OWN COTTAGE!!

Within 2 1/2 hour drive to Bar Harbor, Maine. Campobello Island is connected by bridge to Lubec, Maine, home of the renowned candy-striped West Quioddy Head Lighthouse, on the easternmost point of the United States. Ferry connects Campobello Island to Deer Island, Grand Manans, St Andrews - a world-class Canadian resort. It sports a deck across the back and along the side of the cabin with a beautiful ocean view. Enjoy dining outside and watching the marine and bird life on the deck. This cabin has a living room/dining room/kitchen combination and a bedroom with a full size bed and a bath room. Also the screened in Gazebo is a great place to sleep.

Great exterior deck and interior updates since we last stayed 7 years ago. We enjoyed birding and whale watching from the deck during the day and evenings around the fire during our September visit (but make sure to bring your preferred bug spray).

Everything was smooth and seamless to rent this wonderful and stunning gem! The views were spectacular not only from the porch and screened in porch, but from the bedroom, from the yard and then also from the beautiful gazebo down near the water. The cottage is spacious, clean and has everything you could want. I most certainly will look to stay here if I am back in this beautiful area. Top notch!!

We had a wonderful stay at Whale of a View. We had an amazing view and spent hours watching eagles catching fish from the decks. Cozy house with everything we needed. The owner is very nice and called to check in with us as a major storm was approaching. Everything was amazing and we are looking forward to coming back!

The house is very comfortable with great living atea, screened deck and patio. Saw minke whale every day. Bring your binoculars! The Pier was a nice laid back restaurant but options limited. Beaches are great for pebble and sea glass hunts. Roosevelt Park is very interesting and beautiful… all free. Border crossing takes 5-10 minutes from your car. Very easy. Dennis, property owner, is friendly and helpful. Do not wait to get groceries on island. Stores have very little, including spices. Last big store is in Machias. IGA in Lubec had good selection, though. However, house kitchen could use a good nonstick pan for at home cooking. Brought our own knife. Pictures do not do this place justice. Lovely view out of windows. Fire pit fantastic. We were able to get some wood at Village grocery on island ( but no salt! LOL). Dennis also gave us some, too. Bring bug spray but a light dosing and mosquitoes stayed away. Beautiful stars.HIGHLY RECOMMEND visit.

This is our second summer staying at Dennis’s property and certainly won’t be our last! The view can’t be beat, we spent most of our days sitting on the decks on the lookout for whales. Dennis was the perfect host and everything we needed was available.

The property itself was just what my family was looking for in a waterside view vacation. The only thing I would comment on are a few amenities such as the kitchen sink, bathroom sink and shower which all could use an upgrade as well as the bedroom pillows which were very flat and uncomfortable.

Awesome. Great cottage in a rustic setting to enjoy marine wildlife including whales from the comfort of the deck overlooking the bay. The owners were very pleasant and accomodating. Perfect experience. John, Theresa, Jack and Kim.

We only had two nights to get away, and all I can say is that it is absolutely beautiful. Dennis dropped by shortly after our arrival to make sure everything was to our liking. He is a very courteous host. My favourite place was the screened-in porch where we could see and hear whales, and the sunsets were fabulous. If you are coming here, I suggest you stay a week :)
