Welcome to Rockcastle Lakefront Retreat!
We are so excited to host you and hope you have a wonderful time during your stay at our lakefront oasis!
From the heart warming postcard like views of the beautiful Lake Barkley, to the up close and personal encounters of wildlife and nature, this property is sure to have you immersed in comfort and relaxation with amenities in mind that will be sure to make for a memorable and unforgettable getaway! Be sure to catch a glimpse not only of the stunning sunrise but breathtaking sunset that will be sure to leave you wanting more!


We consider this to be a prime location as we are only a day trip (100 miles) from downtown Nashville, TN - Music City USA, the country music capitol of the world, Country Music Hall of Fame, home of Johnny Cash, Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, Opryland Hotel, Tennessee Titans NFL football, and Nashville Predators NHL hockey.

Outside windows very dirty, lots if spiders not handicap accessible no access to second floor. Had carry handicap individual in wheelchair up all those stairs, so we couldn't go and do anything. Not enough cook ware and need a good cleaning, bathroom to small.

Great location on the Lake

Very comfortable accommodations right on the lake. Amazing views. Nice, rocky shoreline is accessible by foot and fun to explore, but not ideal for swimming or launching kayak -- no worries, a couple very good kayaking locations just up the road. We had an outstanding visit and wished we'd had another day or two to enjoy the area.

Perfect Getaway

Everything about the home was wonderful! We needed a quick getaway for fall break and we scored the perfect place! The views were amazing, we had plenty of space, and the home was cozy! The owners were quick with responding to any questions. We will definitely be back to stay again.

Comfortable stay on lake Barkley

The property has a great view of lake Barkley. Clean on inside with newer furnishings. We had a great stay with our kids. Enjoyed meals on the deck and had a fire one evening.

Greatly disappointed!!

Property not as advertised. Live and dead bugs inside house. House had an oder. Question if dead mouse inside mouse trap. Swarm of bugs outside entrance door and all over patio, not able to enjoy this area at all. Based on our experience-Do not rent this property!!

Quiet and scenic retreat

The property was just as advertised. It was in a quiet place and had great views of the lake - especially at sunset and sunrise. It’s a bit of a drive to get to groceries or the closest attractions, but that’s a small price to pay for the peace and beauty of the place. It is spacious, comfortable, and has a fully equipped kitchen for home-cooked meals.

Lovely home, Perfect views, easy to find. Owners were very kind and helpful. Absolutely recommend.

We loved staying here for the weekend. It had snowed the night before we arrived so it was absolutely beautiful with the open windows looking across the lake. The sunsets were immaculate and the wildlife was beautiful. Highly recommend staying here. Owners were very kind and easy to reach if needed.

Easy drive from Louisville for lots of rest and relaxation.

Loved our time at this lovely lakehouse in Cadez, KY. The sunset view of Lake Barkley was stunning and the full moon shinning over the lake at sunrise was an added bonus. The lakehouse provided extras such as a gas grill on the patio, large assortment of kitchen spices and a TV in every room. Highly recommended this property and hosts Jay and Autumn were amazing to communicate with.
