Thrift Cottage - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4

Set in the heart of the Peak District National Park in a peaceful village below Hucklow Edge, this beautiful cottage is bursting with character and charm. With its original stone walls and fireplace, wood burning stove and beamed ceilings, this is a charming traditional cottage, refurbished in 2024 to provide open-plan living accommodation with a smart new kitchen and shower room.
Situated in a row of pretty cottages in the lovely village of Great Hucklow, you have many attractions on your doorstep. Take a hike up to the top of Hucklow Edge and watch the many paragliders drifting by whilst marvelling at one of the best views in the world. With such beautiful scenery all around, don’t forget to explore the rest of the nearby attractions such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Buxton with its amazing Opera House, Derwent Valley, or pop to Bakewell for a delicious and famous pudding.

Rooms : Ground floor: open plan lounge/dining area and kitchen; shower room with WC. First floor: king-size bedroom and twin bedroom
Kitchen & utilities : Cooker, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher
Entertainment : Smart TV, WiFi and wood burner
Parking : Parking is on the lane outside the cottage
Outdoors:  Please note that there is no garden/patio at this property; garden bench to the front; plenty of walks from the doorstep; pub just across the road with outdoor seating
General : Bed linen and towels are provided; electric panel heating, electricity and an initial supply of fuel for the stove are included
Pets : 1 dog is welcome. Note - you will need to pay an additional pet fee and you must not leave your pet unattended in the property
Accidental Damage Deposit: You may need to pay an Accidental Damage Deposit or Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver for this property. Where applicable we will contact you in good time before your holiday with further details and to take payment

Sweet compact cottage

Thrift cottage was beautifully clean and compact, perfect for our long weekend exploring the Monsal Trail, the Derwent Valley and Froggatt Edge. It comfortably accommodated two adults, a teenager and our cocker spaniel, and we loved the wood fire stove. Many thanks to Derbyshire Country Cottages for the clear communications and arrangements.
