"I have been vacationing at Stonewall Jackson Lake for 25 years. This has to be one of the most breathtaking views! The owners are awesome! They took great care in answering questions. It truly felt like home away from home!"

"We enjoyed this cabin very much. Secluded and away from the traffic and noise of life is what we were looking for and definitely found it in this cozy, beautiful cabin. Hopefully it stays this way and we will definitely be back many times in the future. Very clean, warm, and loved the kitchen was stocked. I did forget a couple spices but found some in the cabinet. "The cabin was great. The one piece of advice I will offer is DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR GPS TO THE ADDRESS ON THE LISTING!!! Follow the written directions the host provides. Our GPS took us a way that was impassable and locked with a gate. The roads around the property are gravel/dirt with plenty of tire-popping potholes. Be very careful. The cabin was great except for the beds. We ended up leaving one night early because we couldn't get a full night's sleep on either the bed upstairs nor the pull-out...

"This cabin has wonderful attributes that made our trip very enjoyable - solitude, firepit, hot tub, a beautiful deck with lounge seating, beautiful design and easy access from the road. When we were not traveling, we spent time around the firepit, sitting on the deck and just resting."

"First, Brian was a great host and had the place set up perfectly. Everything you need like kitchen stuff, grills, fire wood, towels,etc. was there without the need to ask. He was flexible and stayed in immediate contact. The place is definitely out on its own but within 5 minutes you could be in Sutton to get essentials. Restaurants and groceries were less than 15 minutes away. For those that don’t know the area, it is just off I79 so very convenient to get in and out of. Enjoyed my week...

"My husband and I loved staying here for a weekend getaway just the two of us. It was exactly the relaxing country atmosphere we were looking for to reconnect without our children present. The only thing that could've made it better would've been a hot tub, but that would have just been extra decoration on an already deliciously decorated cake. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit outside, talking, and relaxing with each other. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your cozy cabin retreat!"

"My friends and I spent a week at the Blackberry Cottage in April 2025. The cabin is super comfortable and located to so many great WV destinations. This is the second time we stayed at this particular cabin. Just like the previous time, the cabin was spotless when we arrived and exactly as advertised. The property manager is amazing. When the internet connection dropped, we contacted her and she called within minutes with a solution. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly be coming back."

"We were warmly greeted and her daughter prepared and delivered a tasty treat after we arrived. Inside the cabin is clean, cute, and cozy. The nearby Hometown Diner is a treat, as well as the hiking trails at Holly River State Park."

"This cabin is off the path that we normally take! It is secluded and beautiful! My children absolutely loved it there! Even rainy and cold we had a great time! It is very clean and the owners are the most awesome people! A must have for people wishing to take a step back and relax! My children ran around the huge property and made all the noise they wanted while laughing and giggling! "

"Needs to be a lot cleaner, TV system needs upgraded, shower needs a grab bar or something?? Cost is too high! You should provide at least a bottle of wine for the cost. It is a beautiful area that deserves better. There's no TLC and it shows!"

"We went with friends and had kids all under the age of 8. We all enjoyed it and plan on making this a yearly visit. The views were amazing. The river was clean and kids loved playing in. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. I would love to own this property one day!!!"
