  • El Summerhouse es un refugio específicamente diseñado y totalmente equipado para vacaciones junto al mar durante todo el año. Nuestros huéspedes nos dicen que The Summerhouse es "hogar lejos del hogar" y perfecto para parejas, amigos y familias. La propiedad se beneficia de un amplio y luminoso plan abierto que vive en la planta baja que abarca un comedor, cocina y área de descanso. Las grandes puertas correderas se abren a un patio privado y seguro donde puede jugar, tomar el sol, hacer barbacoas, comer, beber o relajarse con un libro al sonido de las olas rompiendo. Hay dos habitaciones en el ático, una doble y una doble que proporcionan un ambiente acogedor para dormir. ¡Sin embargo, los techos son bajos! El cuarto de baño está en la planta baja del vestíbulo de entrada. Su estacionamiento está fuera de la carretera en un camino privado compartido. A la llegada, le espera un té con crema coagulada tradicional de Cornualles.
    La propiedad está convenientemente situada en un carril privado a solo 4 minutos a pie de las dos fabulosas playas de Bandera Azul de Widemouth, siendo este el estándar de oro para playas internacionalmente, popular entre familias, surfistas, caminantes y bañistas. El pueblo tiene dos excelentes pubs, la tienda de la granja del pueblo que vende pescado fresco fantástico y productos cultivados y criados localmente, una tienda de pescado y papas fritas, así como el café de la playa que le ofrece todos los tés y helados de Cornualles que pueda imaginar.
    Widemouth está situado en el camino de la costa suroeste y es una base ideal para explorar Cornwall en tierra o mar, por ola, pie, automóvil o bicicleta en cualquier temporada.

The Summerhouse was a lovely clean and well equipped home away from home. The communication and welcome from the hosts was excellent. Location was superb with just a short 5 minute walk to what was a lovely beach.

Fabulous stay

Immaculately clean, wonderful location few mins walk to beach, brilliantly equipped kitchen, lovely accommodation, nice furnishings. Best air B&B we have ever stayed in by far.

The challet was very cosy, and clean with very comfy beds. It's in a great location so close to the beach and a couple of great restaurants within walking distance.It's ideally situated to explore the north Cornish coast.

Absolutely fantastic, we had a lovely time 😄Bob & Nic were so kind - not only leaving scones / jam / cream / cider, but had a chat with us about the local area Very handy location for the beach and cafe we’d definitely return :)

It's a great little hideaway, located so close to the beach. It has everything you could need for a break. The cut through at the end of the road through the dunes to the beach makes it really quick. The rock pools the Black Rock end are great when the tide is out and the surf was perfect for our family during the stay with lifeguards across the bay.

Excellent and welcoming stay

We had a fantastic four night stay at the Summerhouse at the start of the October 2022 half term. From the outset and throughout, the communication from the hosts, Nicola and Bob was excellent. The Summerhouse is a cosy, warm, well equipped lodge in a brilliant location in walking distance of Widemouth Bay, if you are looking for a place to walk, swim or get in the surf it's perfect. Downstairs the kitchen and lounge area are roomy and welcoming, with lots of thoughtful touches such as games, dvd, WiFi, milk, coffee, tea and scones. The downstairs bathroom has a great shower and the eco friendly toiletries were lovely. Upstairs the bedrooms are a quirky V shape and are well equipped and comfortable. Outside patio space is good and is set up for surfers and beach goers with taps, spare gear and hangers. We took advantage of borrowing the classic vintage wooden body boards which were brilliant fun, although we actually enjoyed using them most at the slightly less lively waves at Bude, which is just a 10 min drive away. The hosts recommend the nearby BeachHouse restaurant which is in walking distance - great food and welcome. The hosts are completely transparent about the building work going on next door at the moment and unfortunately it is quite intrusive being right by the Summerhouse. If you are people who like to get up and out early before 8am then it won't bother you too much but if you want a lie in, then it's not great. Very frustrating for the hosts I'm sure and hopefully it will get finished soon. The hosts were extremely flexible and let us check out later which was appreciated. Recommended as a brilliant base to visit North Cornwall, and particularly recommended for those who want to get into the sea.

Christmas in Widemouth Bay

we had a fantastic Christmas at Widemouth Bay, the property had everything needed & more, the location was superb, on Christmas morning we walked the 5 mins to the beach & watched all of the Christmas morning swimmers, great sight to see, our son lives 2 mins walk from the property so was an ideal location for us to spend Christmas with our grandchildren, now we have found this property we shall return. thank you

Lovely stay in Widemouth Bay

The property was beautifully laid out and furnished making use of all the spaces and being completely self-conrained. We were met by the owner on arrival and everything was explained. The scones, clotted cream and jam were especially welcome and very tasty - a lovely touch! We struggled a little bit with the low sloping ceiling in the bedroom but we knew about that before we booked. All the amenities were provided and thoughtfully done including books, games and DAD'S if you wanted them plus use of wetsuits which was a great extra that was provided. Altogether, a lovely property which was perfect for the two of us.

Gorgeous beach house

This was a perfect spot to head to the beach everyday. It's about a 5 min walk to the beach cafe (one of my favourites in Cornwall as it just feels like you are still on the beach), and a few mins walk to the sand dunes higher up the beach. The outside patio in the house is a perfect private area to take off wet suits and shower outside before going inside de-sanded. Also lovely to sit out there when the sun is shining (twice in one week for us only...). There are bi-fold doors to the patio to make the whole place seem bigger (when it's not raining, which wasn't too much of the time we were there!!). The place had everything we needed for a lovely stay, including some good quick puzzles, an x-box and a good range of books - kids and adults happy :) The upstairs has very low ceilings (eaves) so just be aware of this if you like your space. There is also only a toilet downstairs (clearly written on the website and didn't bother us).

Fantastic location

The Summerhouse is ideally placed to walk to Widemouth/Black Rock beach. Nic and Bob were brilliant hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. The Summerhouse was stocked with everything you need, including spare wetsuits, toys for children, books and a BBQ. The head height in the bedrooms was a bit of a struggle as the 3 of us are quite tall but it didn’t really distract from the holiday. The only thing we were missing was a clock downstairs but apart from that, we loved every minute of it. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful holiday

Just returned from a wonderful stay at the beach house, even though weather wasn't the best. Well equipped with lots of little extra's including a welcome cream tea- covid compliant, and hosts were excellent. Wonderful beach for body boarding & surfing, and quiet peaceful location, to relax & recharge. We will return.

Great place in a perfect location

Lovely homely place with all the necessary amenities with extras such as wetsuits, body boards, buckets and spades, children’s toys and books. Our 2 year old was very happy! Clean and well kept property, easy to find and a place to park the car off road. Bob and Nic were great, replied to questions and queries promptly. 5 minute walk to the beach from property, great for a quick nip to the beach for a surf or splash around in the sea. Thank you 😊

Never mind the rain

Great location with the beach within walking distance. No matter the weather, with our wetsuits on the beach and the waves were great fun. Bob and Nic very attentive and helpful.

Excellent place to stay

We loved staying at The Summerhouse - it was in the perfect location for us, right near the beach, was well equipped and had a great 'feel'. Communication with Nic and Bob was excellent - they were very friendly and supportive, especially in light of the current situation. Highly recommended

Christmas 2019

Booked the summerhouse for a few relaxing days between Christmas and New Year. The accommodation is lovely and cosy with a great location 2 minutes walk from the Beach. Nice and Bob were really helpful even answering one on my queries on Christmas Eve! Some lovely places to eat within walking distance, we recommend the Black Rock Cafe for breakfast and Elements for an evening meal. Would definitely stay here again if we venture into Cornwall.

Lovely place and thoughtful hosts

Really comfortable and thoughtfully put together holiday apartment. Amazing location for the most beautiful beach - on foot or a short drive to others to pick up the coastal path from Crackington Haven. Fish and scallops off the boat fresh or a cinema treat when the rain rained. Is there more to say?

Happy stay at The Summerhouse

This is a lovely, bright, welcoming and absolutely spotless property. Very well equipped and a very short walk from the fantastic beach. The owners were brilliant in communicating and left a great, welcoming cream tea on arrival, all in all highly recommended
