Stunning Custom Cabin in the woods; Mountain and Ocean Views!

  • This house is truly unique!

    A work of art by the owner, the details make this a place to remember from the hand-cut, burl-lined staircase to the bench swing hanging from the living room rafters. Also, the loft bed looks out of a skylight. Kids and adults will have a wonderful time exploring this house.

    The large kitchen has plenty of room for everyone to gather for meals. The bar features a glass-topped terrarium filled with starfish, sand dollars, shells, rocks - see what you can find! The wall of windows lets you enjoy the view from wherever you are. The living room features a cozy wood-burning stove.

    The master bedroom offers a hand-make California king bed, a large soaking tub, and an oversized steam shower. Enjoy the view from the wrap-around windows in this room as well.

    The open loft area has an attached kids bedroom and full bathroom. The open loft has a futon for additional guest sleeping or possible office workspace. The attached kids' bunk room accommodates six sleeping arrangements (one queen bed, top single and bottom bunk is a full, and single loft bed that looks out the skylight). The kids will want to "rock-paper-scissors" for the star-gazing spot!

    Outside, there is a whole world to explore. The large deck offers lots of views to enjoy or wander down one of the trails on the large property. There is a BBQ for your dinner steaks, then a fire pit for later in the evening when it's time to roast some marshmallows.

    When you're ready for an adventure down the hill, check out Whaleshead Beach, less than a mile away. Hiking trails follow the coastline most of the way to Brookings or head north for other options.

    Max Amount Of Nights for Bookings is 16 nights. We do not allow extended stays.

We enjoyed our time at this lovely cabin and hope to stay here again. The privacy of the mountains plus the stunning ocean views makes for the perfect getaway. We enjoyed spending time by the fire in the evenings as well.

This house did not disappoint. Beautiful views, well-stocked, comfy beds, unique design features, and loads of outdoor space. The shower downstairs is incredible and the tub has the best ocean view in the whole house!

This is a beautiful cabin with a lot of space, well stocked and plenty of fun things to do. The view is spectacular. The road leading to the cabin is dirt and a bit steep but short. Everything else is great!

Wonderful piece of heaven

Great experience would definitely stay here again. Our kids loved the swing in the living room it was a cozy cabin away from the hustle and bustle of Brookings. Fully stocked with whatever you may need!

Cabin in the Woods

Loved all the unique details, comfortable layout, and beautiful views. The sunset was best viewed from the top deck, but we loved the view from the swing in the living room too. The king bed was super comfy! The garden tub with ocean view was a treat. Enjoyed the proximity to beautiful beaches. We are seniors... 72 and 75. We both loved our stay.

Beautiful sunset scenery

The house was clean and had a beautiful sunset view. There’s multiple spots in and outside of the house to watch the sunset. The hill drive up is steep, so just keep that in mind. It’s a convenient distance from town. The only downside was there was no AC. Other than that, it was great.

The moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the stunning vistas that greeted us from every window, painting a backdrop of serenity and tranquility that set the tone for a truly unforgettable getaway. The highlight of our stay undoubtedly revolved around the spa-like indulgence offered by the steam shower and bathtub. A heavenly oasis for relaxation and rejuvenation. Furthermore, the kitchen of this abode was perfect for preparing meals and enjoying the open space that was filled with laughter and forever memories.

Gorgeous views, well equipped

We loved the gorgeous views inside and out. The custom log beams and wood interior feel both comforting and luxurious. The home is well provisioned with cooking equipment and gear. Plenty of games for all ages. We had many people filling the beds. There are only two bedrooms but lots of sleeping options that the kids enjoyed- hello triple level bunk style! Perfect for cousins. No room darkening blinds on windows so bring your eye masks. This is one of the best stays we’ve ever had.

Great cozy spot for family getaway

Cabin was super cozy with a beautiful view. Far enough away to feel like you are in the forest, but super close to town and hikes and beaches and even the redwoods in California. Only complaint is I emailed property manager twice - once to confirm they received the rental notice I signed and another to ask for advice on local hikes, and no response was ever received. Likely due to the fact that it is a property management company running it as opposed to a homeowner.

The place was hard to find up a steep bumpy gravel single lane road. When we arrived we could not get TV to work. When I called about this I was told to rent dvds. No cable TV so we put a puzzle together. The upstairs had bunk beds and all beds in one room. A live bat swarmed our bed at night so opened door to get it out. I would never rent this home again paid over $900 for 2 nights.

This cabin is somewhat cluttered & dated but functional. Fortunately there is a back route to the property if the 1/2 mile driveway is a bit steep for your vehicle. The location is truly serene (think crisp, mountain air with a beach view), and I was grateful to find a property with enough beds for each of our 5 children (2 grown, 3 under 18) to have their own. The swing & firepit are charming for sure. The one thing that very much bothered me is the complete lack of privacy in the master bathroom. Owners hung up curtains in the bedroom but not bathroom, leaving master bathroom completely exposed to anyone walking behind the cabin. We used duct tape to rig up a temporary fix with blankets & sheets. I would highly recommend contacting owners to make sure this has been resolved before renting.

Pacific Palace In The Woods

From the moment I climbed the flattop boulder stairs (easy ascent/descent) and entered the home, I was instantly in awe but also felt very welcomed. Seeing the magnificent structure, with timber beams, mortise, and tenon style in-person will delight anyone who appreciates architecture. Everything you need to cook can be found in the beautiful kitchen wood cabinetry (hickory?) with stone pulls. The seashell counter displays, the antler & skull collections, the macrame wood swing, and the wood stove are all framed with forest and ocean views and deserve attention. In the master bedroom, we enjoyed the super comfortable king-size bed with pillows galore. The master bath has a steam shower with dual shower heads, a round river rock floor, and a seashell/glass accent border. Check out the cabinet pulls; they are made from antlers. I don’t usually get too excited by stairways, but this house has a heavenly one. The home is well situated in the woods with plenty of privacy but still close enough to town for when you need to go there. The property is very close to: 3 rivers (Chetco, Winchuck and Rogue), state campgrounds and state forests, radical viewpoints, and hiking trails but it is a hard home to leave due to its comfort level and abounding views, especially if it is raining. We look forward to coming back soon to visit this Pacific Palace In The Woods!!!
