"Overnight stay in Room 117, a bit of a maze to find and a lot of stairs, so if you have any disability, don’t pick that one. Room was clean, comfortable bed, good bathroom facility and quiet. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast and Evening meal had a good selection and was nicely cooked. Made use of the Indoor Pool, which was very clean and attractive, they use a booking system so it doesn’t get overcrowded."

"We arrived late and left early so didn’t get to experience breakfast or much of the outside but all staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful, beds were very comfortable and room was perfect for our quick stop over. "

"This is a beautifully refurbished property with clean rooms and a gorgeous restaurant. The food at dinner was outstanding and very reasonably priced. Our dog was given a hamper with bowls, treats and a blanket that was waiting in our room upon arrival. Very pet and child friendly with lots of room to move about as it’s set off the road. Plenty of car parking. "

"I've used the F&G over many years. It's a decent independent hotel which has recently refurbished at least some of its rooms. If you're fed up of chains, try the F&G."

"Really nice stay for a “rest and recharge” getaway. The shepherds hut was exactly as the pictures - clean and tidy when we arrived. The owners had a folder with all the useful information we would need during our stay (how to use the hot tub, location for waste and recycling bins, nearby public footpaths etc). A nice secluded area from the rest of the property to allow for privacy. I would definitely recommend and consider again for a couple’s holiday. "

"We loved staying at those charming pub. Staff were all happy, helpful and efficient, the pub is well cared for and beautifully decorated. Our room read lovely, comfortable, week appointed and nice and clean. The only exception was that the old windows and picture trail in the bathroom need a more thorough clean, but nothing major. Lovely personalised touches and really good food! Would definitely stay again."
