Cottage In Dôl Y Bont, Near Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, Wales.

A single-storey detached property, situated across a driveway shared with the owners, Tanrallt Cottage is set in a quiet hamlet with views overlooking open farmland. Bounded by a stream, our cottage is comfortably furnished and offers a double bedroom, large fitted kitchen, shower room and a large living/dining room with a sofabed (small double). Patio doors open from the living room onto a small patio area with garden furniture.

We are ideally placed to explore the seaside village of Borth and the sand dunes of Ynyslas, as well as offering easy access to Aberystwyth, 6 miles away with its university, castle and harbour.
The Wales Coastal Path, the Dyfi Osprey Project, the feeding of red kites at Nant Yr Arian, all these are within easy reach.

Off road parking is available for up to two cars and is accessed by a shared driveway with our own property.
We supply bedlinen and towels and have a travel cot and highchair if required.

Calm, comfy, welcoming - perfect!

This cottage is cosy, comfortable, beautifully situated and very well equipped. Karen is a friendly and thoughtful host. Some beautiful walks straight from the door. Overall - a perfect stay for me.

TLDR, we loved it a lot. Everything was perfect. The weather, the host, the location and the house. We deliberately kept it simple as we have young children. Our host was kind enough to allow me to charge my EV (I thanked her with a gift), there was a few Welsh goodies left as well. Can't fault the cleanliness of the place, the value for money and the location. Couple of points though: the entrance to the property is narrow, if you have a van or a large SUV, you will need to be very careful. Ditto for the small narrow roads that have a 60MPH speed limit. Having a large tractor facing you in one of these lanes is not an experience I want to renew. Dol-y-bont is located only 15 minutes from a Thai restaurant, 20 minutes from Aberystwyth (where you will find a lot of amenities) and 7 minutes from Borth, where you will find a beach. We're already planning to come back in 2027 for Easter. Thanks Ms K for all the memories!

Fabulous cottage

This spacious luxury fitted out cottage in a brilliant location cannot be faulted, you can sit on the back deck and count the sheep, generous host Karen lovely people. Five stars was not enough, John and Glenda Dickson

Beautiful house in rural surrounding

The house is very well equipped, very tidy and clean and has a lot of space. Everything was well prepred and we got useful information in advance to find the house. The landlord is very kind, she prepared even some welcome food for us and gave us many helpful tipps. We loved staying there. The place is very quiet but close to Borth (5 min by car) and Aberystwyz (20 min by car).

A warm welcome from Karen led to the most delightful stay in a perfectly equiped cottage. Gorgeoys views from the suntrap patio, everything you could need to make you feel at home, the most comfortable bed too! Peace,tranquility and comfort. The most wonderful break. We will be back

Fantastic quiet property in a quiet rural location near Aberystwyth (10 min drive) and Borth (2 min drive). Modern and clean with all facilities one could need. The couple that run it are lovely and will go out of their way to help with any issues. Plenty of safe parking space, good wifi and fully fitted kitchen. Only slight downside was it would be difficult without a car as walking to the nearby towns, villages, coast isn't terribly easy, though it is possible and the area didn't seem to be served by walkable public transport.

A very pleasant week

Very comfortable house, and well equipped. We cooked a few times and found everything we needed. Light and airy, which was good as it was a very warm week. Karen was friendly and helpful. The village is quiet and pretty, about 10 minutes from Borth by car or 40 on foot.

First post pandemic holiday

Relaxing, tranquil, beautiful part of the world. The cottage was in a beautiful and quiet location, clean and well equipped. Karen on hand if we ever needed anything, otherwise we were left to enjoy our break. Will definitely re-book for future escapes. Thank you
