Welcome to Lundur and Klettur, a countryside retreat for up to 16 guests in West Iceland. Your booking includes both cottages and Lundur’s separate guesthouse, giving families and friends three buildings to spread out across while enjoying one holiday together.

Explore the waterfalls of Borgarfjörður, spend a day discovering Snæfellsnes or simply enjoy the terraces and woodland surroundings. Return each evening to your own kitchens, comfortable living rooms and two private hot tubs.

TOGETHER, WITH SPACE FOR YOUR OWN ROUTINE

Travelling with a larger group is easier when everyone has choices.

Lundur and Klettur each have their own kitchen, living area, bedrooms, bathroom facilities and terrace. The guesthouse beside Lundur adds another sleeping space, with its own entrance and a full bathroom with a shower.

Together, the accommodation offers seven bedrooms and three bathrooms across three buildings, for a maximum of 16 guests.

Share your days and spend time together, while keeping the freedom to turn in early, enjoy a quiet breakfast or settle into a separate living room for the evening.

THE CHARACTER OF ICELANDIC SUMMERHOUSES

Both cottages were built in the traditional Icelandic summerhouse style. Well constructed and insulated, they are warm and welcoming throughout the year.

Each has an open kitchen and living area with a generous corner sofa and a large TV. Prepare dinner while chatting about the day, gather for a film or settle in with a book.

Comfortable bedrooms and quality beds provide a place to rest after exploring. Wi-Fi is available in both cottages and the guesthouse.

LUNDUR’S PRIVATE GUESTHOUSE

The guesthouse sits beside Lundur and is included in your booking.

With sleeping space for up to four, a TV and a full shower bathroom, it offers extra independence for part of your group. It is a useful option for grandparents, friends or anyone who appreciates a separate space at the end of the day.

TWO PRIVATE HOT TUBS AND OUTDOOR TERRACES

Each cottage has a large terrace with its own private hot tub, barbecue and comfortable outdoor seating.

The hot tubs give your group two places to unwind. Enjoy a soak after sightseeing, prepare dinner on the barbecue or start the morning with coffee in the fresh air.

In summer, linger on the terraces beneath Iceland’s long evening light. During the darker months, clear skies and the right aurora conditions may bring the northern lights into view.

TWO KITCHENS, MORE FLEXIBILITY

Both kitchens are equipped for cooking and baking, with cookware and tableware for meals during your stay.

Organise breakfast at your own pace, prepare food for the day’s outing or come home with ingredients for dinner. Two kitchens make it easier to accommodate different schedules and preferences, while the open living areas keep cooking a sociable part of the holiday.

DISCOVER BORGARFJÖRÐUR

Make Lundur and Klettur your base for exploring the landscapes and history of Borgarfjörður.

Visit Hraunfossar, where streams emerge from the lava field, and nearby Barnafoss. See the steaming geothermal waters at Deildartunguhver, discover historic Reykholt or explore the volcanic scenery around Grábrók.

Choose a few stops for a leisurely day, leaving time to enjoy the countryside along the way. Staying in one place lets you spread your exploring across several days without packing up each morning.

MAKE A DAY OF SNÆFELLSNES

Set aside a full day for the Snæfellsnes peninsula, with its fishing villages, rugged coastline and volcanic landscapes.

Plan your route around the places that interest you most, from coastal stops to the scenery of Snæfellsjökull National Park. Allow time for the journey and adapt your plans to the weather and your group’s pace.

Afterwards, return to the cottages for dinner, a comfortable sofa and a relaxing soak.
