  • Morning Star Cottage es el alquiler de vacaciones perfecto de Maine durante todo el año! Esta casa victoriana hecha a medida está situada en una península estrecha, con vistas al amanecer y al atardecer desde los porches y el balcón del tercer piso. Se puede acceder a una pequeña playa de adoquines durante la marea baja para caminar, bombardear y tomar el sol. Un fácil lanzamiento en kayak desde esta ubicación proporciona exploración de las islas cercanas y distantes, así como una mirada cercana a las focas, los bribones y los botes de langosta que habitan en las aguas circundantes.
    El jardín botánico costero de Maine, el jardín botánico más grande de Nueva Inglaterra, está a solo 1/2 milla de esta casa. El CMBG es una joya hortícola y se considera una de las principales atracciones naturales de Maine.

The location was ideal. Our host greeted us upon arrival. We felt as if the house was set up just for us. Very clean and ready for a wonderful week.

What a charming Maine property. The home was appointed with everything we needed for family meals, campfires, and time together with family. The daily seal sightings were an unexpected bonus. The host was very responsive with questions and accommodating. We were all sad to leave.

We loved Morning Star cottage! I’m not sure if my favorite part was coffee on the upstairs balcony each morning or wine on the dock each evening! We loved the peace and quiet of the area while still being close to the harbor and it’s activities. Admittedly, the unseasonable temps made it quite hot for a couple of days but we knew this could be a possibility when booking! Thanks, Charles, for sharing your beautiful home with us!

The perfect cottage

We had an amazing stay at Salt Water Cottage. The home is beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and well built. George was great about checking in and communicating. 10/10. We can’t wait to come back.

The name of the cottage is Morning Glory. From my experience, it’s namesake has many meanings. The sunrise that reflects on the bay, the crisp Maine air one wakes up to, and the welcoming pleasant exchanges one gets from George the owner and builder of this paradise getaway. I told George one morning as I saw him landscaping the property next door that perhaps Maine’s state motto written on license plates, “Vacationland” should be changed to “New England Heaven on Earth” based on my experiences at his Boothbay Cottage.

This property was terrific! Beautiful views of Penobscot Bay. Equipped with everything you could need. Charming and well appointed interior. Owner available and very helpful. Could not have asked for a better place!

Weekend away

My friend and I rented this beautiful quaint property for a quiet weekend away and it checked all the boxes. The owner, George, was so nice to deal with, and clearly has so much pride in this family home, which has so many lovely details throughout. The view is spectacular. Just a short drive to town, restaurants and boutiques, the botanical garden. I truly hope to come back some day.

You won't want to leave.

Though the photos are terrific, they can't illustrate the feeling of this gorgeous setting. You get more than you see. The host is accessible and friendly. The home is well appointed.

Spectacular Cottage and Location!

The house is unique and charming on a small promontory of land overlooking the ocean and the scattered islands that invest it. Mr. Hervochon, the host, could not have been more accommodating and helpful--such a kind and gentle and generous man. His genius built the house and his spirit imbues it.

Weekend Too Short

We only stayed at this house for 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary but wished we could have stayed for much longer! The property has a beautiful water view and a dock to enjoy the peace and quiet - we even had a group of seals splashing next to the dock! The house is immaculate and had everything we needed to feel at home. George was a gracious host and very easy to work with. We enjoyed the restaurants downtown and the local brewery was a nice treat at the end of the day. This is definitely a property that we will look forward to renting again!

Views from all angles

What a lovely spot! The house is exactly as described and pictured. It is light and sunny. There are views from the sunroom, third floor deck, picnic table, chairs, and dock. We never ate out because it was too nice to sit and eat at the house with a view! George is friendly, communicative, and responsive to any questions. The spot is quiet and surprisingly private despite the open yards of all the neighbors. It is close to the Botanical Garden and several short walks in the woods and along the shore. Kayaking or paddle boarding to visit the seals is incredible. One tip, biking in the area is not easy—so might leave the bikes home next time. It was a perfect long weekend trip. We will definitely stay here again!

Fantastic home and location

Beautiful, peaceful location and amazing home on peninsula. This is a prefect getaway to relax and spend family time. The owner and manager, George H., was extremely helpful and accommodating. Great stay!

Lovely stay

Had a relaxing and peaceful stay over the holidays. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the house. Great location close to Boothbay Harbor and all the holiday lights.

Great Maine Getaway

This house was perfect for 2 couples. We enjoyed the location of the home to everything we wanted to see! The views from the home were beautiful! George was a fantastic host and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again on our next trip to Boothbay!

Great house, location, area

The house is great, spacious, open concept downstairs, nice bedrooms, and nice 3rd floor family room and balcony. And outfitted with all that we needed. Yard and dock is where we spent much of our time, meals at the picnic table with a beautiful view. Kayaking conditions were fantastic, calm waters, seals and other wildlife, and interesting islands and shore to explore. And the area has a lot to offer, we enjoyed the botanical garden (great for kids), Boothbay harbor, bike rides, hikes, and loved Boothbay Craft Brewery. Can't wait to go back!

Rooms with a view

I was struck by the beautiful setting of this property. The house sits proudly on the hill overlooking the bay. The street is quiet and there is a lot of privacy between houses. The house was clean and neat and George the owner was wonderful.

Incredible spot!

My family enjoyed an absolutely perfect week at this incredible spot. George was a wonderful host - easy to coordinate with and incredibly welcoming. The house was spacious and wonderfully appointed with just about the best views possible. We spent so much time sitting on the dock, watching the birds and the seals in the water and made full use of the kayaks and the grill. Even though we only left two days ago, we've already been planning for our next visit. I would highly recommend renting from George for your post-COVID family reunion.
