Villa Barbulete is set on the edge of a cliff, 60 meters above sea level and 135 meters from the coastline, in a gated resort overlooking the azure Caribbean sea in the western part of the Island, which is known as the green area , quiet, luxurious, peaceful, beautiful, and totally safe.

Cas About resort, adjacent to Cas Abou beach, is one of the most beautiful locations of the island, or perhaps the most beautiful. A small, quiet and guarded and gated resort with 50 private villas where living is spacious, private and secure.

Cas Abou Resort has 2 lovely little private beaches, only accessible to residents , with fantastic diving and snorkeling facilities. One of them right in front of the villa, the other one at a 550 meters ( 600 yards) walk from the villa.

Cas Abou Beach (aka Bon Bini Beach) fully meets the vision that you have of a tropical beach :
white sand, palapa´s ( covered with palm leaf umbrellas) , palm trees and other tropical vegetation.

According to National Geographic Cas Abao Beach ranks 4th of the best beaches of the world: " Ringed by reefs, Curaçao hides a Caribbean underwater wonderland, and this beach is one of the few sandy ones on the arid island, with a bar and a shop to rent snorkel gear. Slip straight into the shallow crystalline bay alive with sea fans and coral, tropical fish, sponges, sea turtles, and more".

The villa is fully equipped for maximum 11 guests. It has 5 spacious bedrooms, 4 with kingsize beds and 1 with a kingsize bed and a single bed, 2,5 bathrooms, a huge living room, a fully equipped kitchen and an enormous covered porch with 180 degrees magnificent panorama view facing the Caribbean Sea ! From the private pool you have the same view.

Total living space spans over 4,520 sqft. Plot covers over 17,200 sqft.

At the right side of the villa a unique view on the salt pans of Cas About where graceful flamingos congregate in the inland bay, finding their food in the salt water.

Next to the Dutch kitchen there are at Curaçao also a large number of international cuisines to find such as Argentine , Brazilian, Thai, Chinese , Japanese, Italian and more. The traditional local cuisine is also increasingly popular with tourists. Here you can for example enjoy delicious stews such as Karni stobá ( with beef ) , Kabritu stobá ( with goat ) , iguana (soup or satellite) or ´n Curaçao´s bunny.

In Curacao you are almost guaranteed a perfect weather. Curacao is outside the hurricane belt, Tsunami proof, has never in recorded history suffered an earthquake and there are no poisonous animals on the island.

The views of the ocean from the home are great. The gated community is quiet and serene. Short walk to two beaches for swimming and snorkeling. A very short drive to Cas Abou Beach; one of the best on the island!

We love this house! It's a great location for an adult gathering. Lot's of space to allow for quiet moments even if you're in a group. The view from the pool and the veranda is AMAZING. Beautiful sunsets every night. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you'll need to cook meals and there's a stocked spice drawer as well. The bedroom air conditioning worked great which helps the comfortable sleeping temperature.There are some "quirks" to this house. The lower level bedrooms open to the outside - the proximity to the pool might be a bit worrisome if you had a toddler that can open doors.The wifi networks and passwords we were given didn't exist on our devices. Fortunately we had previous visits and our devices "recognized" the existing network and I was able to share the password. Beware the neighborhood pigs that raid the exterior trash cans - they're not an issue if you keep the gate closed.And I must mention that Hilde & Gerrit, the local hosts/housekeeper/maintenance staff are an absolute pleasure to interact with. They are quick to respond to any question/need!

Amazing views. Great location. Close to Cas Abou beach. Two bedrooms on the main floor. Three bedrooms on the lower level. Not good for anyone handicapped or small children. Don’t forget bug spray. Kitchen was well equipped. Neither of the sliding doors locked. Large gate must manually be opened and closed every time you enter and leave. Adaptors not needed. Will definitely return to this beautiful villa. Loved the location. Rented car from Just Drive Curacao. They provided great customer service and very reasonable. We paid cash for the car rental.

This property is indeed on the edge of a cliff with magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea. The lanai runs the full width of th house and has a table for 8, chairs and a sofa. Down one level is the pool area, which is very nice.The house has 5 bedrooms, but only the master bedroom is accessablle from inside the main living area.The kitchen is on one end, with a bar that seats 4. There is a long open space, then a couch and TV . Missing a dining table. This long space has 2 sets of sliding glass doors, each with 3 panes of glass that look out to the lanai and the ocean, however there is no seating inside in this living space that faces the ocean. The reason one would want to sit inside is the "no see um" bugs are very active at sunrise and sunset. We got large red bite marks that itched night and day for a couple of days. Bug spray with Deet was marginally effective.Air conditioning only in the Master Bedroom & 1 or 2 other bedrooms. No AC and No Fan in the main living space. No screens on the sliding glass doors. You can open the doors to get a breeze, but then you get the bugs too. Only had 1 beach, 1 bath, 1 hand towel, and 1 wash cloth per person for the week. Towels were worn. Expected more and better. Dryer was brokenGate on driveway is very heavy to open and shut. Needs repair. Just my wife and I made the trip, but not good for families with small children - low railings - high cliff

The view from this place is great other than that it really needs some things addressed. When we arrived it was very musty and we had to air out directly. The towels and flooring really could have used a good scrub, The front gate did not work at the house so we had to move it manually not really that big of deal, but this property is located on a big cliff. The main areas of the property have no a/c, just bedrooms. These units try to keep up but just not real comfortable. The Wifi did not work at all so no tv or internet access. The beds are actually split twins pushed together it was okay. The garage and cleaning areas were full of ladders and painting supplies. After one night we just could not deal with all the issues so we went and stayed in town the rest of the week. I really wanted to enjoy this place but it really needs some attention.

This place has everything, it is located in the best neighborhood next to the most beautiful beach. Els is an amazing host and Hilde was available for any questions or needs that came up. Everyone in our family had a great time and this house was the biggest part of that. Look no further you will not be disappointed.

We were 7 friends staying in this beautiful property. The common area to eat with that spectacular view was incredible. We spent most of our time there. Els was very easy to work with and very accommodating. We had a great time. We just wished the common area in the living room had AC for the nights we wanted to escape the bugs. Overall we had enjoyed our stay very much! And we all fell in love with the 3 cats on the property that come every morning to eat from their bowl by the pool. ;)

De villa is heel groot. Er kunnen 10 mensen slapen, maar de faciliteiten zijn geschikt voor maximaal 6 mensen. De indeling van het huis is wat merkwaardig en zal voor sommige gasten niet geschikt zijn. Overal in huis zijn trappen en de benedenverdieping met drie slaapkamers en het zwembad is alleen buitenom of via een steile trap te bereiken. De inrichting van het huis is functioneel. Alles is aanwezig, maar het huis heeft niet echt sfeer. In de woonkamer en op het terras zouden plafondventilatoren een welkome aanvulling zijn. De bedden waren uitstekend. Er waren wat problemen met de verlichting, de keukenapparatuur en een lekkage, maar de beheerder heeft dit uiteindelijk allemaal verholpen. Het contact met de beheerder verliep prima. De locatie van het huis is geweldig met prachtige vergezichten over de zee, maar dat geldt eigenlijk voor alle huizen in Cas Abou. We huren vaker een huis in Cas Abou en we zullen dit huis vast nog wel een keer huren, maar alleen als andere huizen niet beschikbaar zijn.

I would love to give this property a 1 star rating so it would always be available when we want to stay here!!! The home is perfect for a small group that want to relax and enjoy the weather, the pool and the nearby beaches. If it's night-life you're looking for this is not it - quiet, secluded and so beautiful. We were saddened to hear of Ronald's passing and send our condolences to Els.

We loved the pool, the palapa, decks and the spaciousness of the property. We enjoyed a walk and a snorkle at the 'private beach'. We had difficulty getting some of the appliances to work properly and the kitchen faucet to supply hot water. We never did find a manual on the faucet and the property manager had to look it up on line. Basically you pull down a ring at the base of the faucet until a red light appears, then turn the ring and boiling hot water would come from the faucet for a minute or two. The property was large for just 2 couples, but the pool and outside decks were absolutely worth it!!

Everything on Barbulette is awesome! The grandiose villa boasts a comfortable layout, perfect for accommodating a large group. Imagine relaxing by the ocean-facing pool, with playful pink flamingos gracing your porch. This idyllic location puts you within easy reach of Curaçao's most stunning beaches, including the breathtaking Cas Abao, renowned for its exceptional snorkeling experiences, and the picturesque Westpunt beaches where you can even swim with turtles.

We enjoyed our stay here. Hilde was great to get back to us with questions. The only problem we had was the entry gate into the resort. The code we were given did not work. Luckily we had someone coming into the resort as we were trying to leave and he told us the code changes every 6 months and have us the correct code. The gate to the villa does not have a remote, so you are having to pull and push it open each time you want to enter/exit. Very heavy gate to slide manually. We were able to see the flamingos every morning and evening! Very spacious house and super clean. If you are traveling from US, they were plenty of adapters. But no wash cloths for your face and body, so bring those with you! The pool was very dirty, wood at the bottom and didn't look like it had been cleaned for awhile. Even after we skimmed the top, didn't feel comfortable swimming in it. Not a big deal, you have beaches too explore on the island! Bed was comfortable. We only had 2 people so we used the bedroom on the main level. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating areas (3). Gorgeous gardens at the villa. Plenty of dinnerware, etc. It is a 25 min drive if you are going into the city for dinner. Very convenient to the beautiful beaches of Grote Knip and Kleine Knip. We had the best snorkeling here. Check out the beautiful view from Santa Martha Bay which is nearby. And dinner at Tinto Bar y Cocino @ Jan Thiel beach was AMAZING! Sat right at the water. Would stay here again. Thank you!

-No air conditioning in the living room/kitchen main shared area. This would not have been a issue if there was screens on the sliding doors to keep bugs out so you could get a breeze in the house or if there was a fan provided by the host. When we arrived there was a fan in the house, but it didn’t work when we plugged it in. When we reached out to management they stated the fan was new and then said it was bought by previous guests so they wouldn’t provide a working fan. I asked what the best way to keep the living area cool and usable was- should we open the windows and doors or would the house fill with bugs? I got no response. -There is no hot water upstairs. They stated this was due to the water being heated by a sun collector, but we didn’t have hot water for the remainder of our trip. When I reached out later about the lack of hot water we didn’t receive a response from the management. -Management of the house does not have good communication skills. The checkin paperwork states that management would meet you at the house at checkin and go over things such as appliances, check the electric meter (since you’re charged for excess use of electricity), etc. This was not true as we never met management of the home during our stay. -There are not beach towels in the house, we used bath towels. This didn’t seem like a big deal except the towels are very fluffy and take days hanging outside in order to dry. -The beach accesses are overgrown by weeds and cacti.

Good communication. Entry procedures were as described. House is nice and also unique. One thing to know is that it is basically all open air upstairs where the main common area is located. Was plenty of breeze and we were comfortable. We spent most of our time at the upper outdoor table area or at the pool. Bedrooms do have AC. Bedrooms are split between floors, which worked well for use. Pool was clean. Not a single problem or issue.

I would unconditionally recommend this house for your Curacao vacation. The view was wonderful. There are so many activities to do in Curacao and the people are great. The only issue would be the bugs. The house has everything you need to cook the meals you may want during your stay, but with the number of good restaurants around you might not want to cook.
