"It was a great little getaway, and we could imagine in summer it would be even nicer being able to enjoy the outdoor picnic spots by the pond. We arrived late in the day and were quite peckish, so enjoying a beautiful fresh loaf of bread, butter and cheese that greeted us when we arrived was lovely - along with a bottle of wine for later and a ginger beer for our young one. "Traveling with my parents and weren’t sure how they would like staying in a yurt but they loved it! More lux than I would’ve imagined! Lovely view of the Tasman sea, as well as a walkway along the cliffs and one down to the sand. We got there right as the sun was setting and it was beautiful. Definitely recommend getting there before sunset to be able to relax and watch it. Super amazing stargazing of the milky way at night! We only stayed one night, if we had more time on our trip we would have...

"A bit of a surprise to find we (4) were sharing the house with the owners, plus a Canadian. We had thought that our 4 were going to have a bedroom each, as per the BookaBach description of the property. Two guys had to share a room.The owners were a delightful, very helpful Chinese couple, who made us welcome and accommodated our Ebikes in their garage to recharge. "

"A lovely place to stay with a group. You could hear the waves at night and the overly friendly wekas meant you had to be careful not to leave doors open. The whole campground was well maintained and the Cow Shed cafe a delight."

"Super well stocked off grid cabin, overlooking a valley. Hammocks and bbq on deck with lots of cooking supplies. Cabin is beautifully decorated with books and games. Trails down to the river and a beautiful look out spot! Sunset - gorgeous! Really loved it! Host warm and friendly and has a home close by. One of my favorite stays on the South Island! "

"So very clean! A lovely house with warm fire and clean comfortable beds. Was a bit worried about check in as communication could ha e been better but it all worked fine. The owners were in an attached property which we would have liked to know but they were very quiet and friendly. We enjoyed our stay. "

"In the cover photo is looks like the hut is secluded, but the owners house is just out of the image. No problem for me, but people that were seeking seclusion may not realize this.In the kitchen I couldn't wash some of the dishes easily because of the dish brush. I suggest putting in a brush with a long handle. I could clean the bottom of the coffee cup for example. Otherwise this place would get a 5 star cleaning rating.The place is overall fantastic. "We had the most restful stay in this cute retro bach. Everything we needed was provided. Adored the outdoor fire and bath. The covered outdoor eating area was perfect for rainy day dining. Extremely cosy indoors with fire. Even managed a wave from the train driver passing by!!!!!Highly recommend for a getaway. "
