Kookie Bears Cottage

This is an incredible value as you get the entire cottage with fully fenced back yard for your fur babies, kitchen with refrigerator, 4 burner stove and oven, living room with futon couch for extra guests, wood burning fireplace and smart TV, private bedroom with sliding door to the back deck, full bath with shower/tub combo, tons of natural light... a perfect mountain getaway for couples! All of this for less than you would pay for a standard hotel room!

Kookie Bear's Cottage! Your cozy (pet-friendly) cabin in the mountains! This special home is nestled in the perfect location. It's in a quiet neighborhood just one block from the sprawling national forest where there are endless trails for hiking, biking and sledding. You'll be close to all the skiing, off-roading, boating, fishing, shopping, restaurants and more that the mountain resorts have to offer. The cabin is beautifully renovated with upgraded amenities, a charming stone fireplace, and comes with a finished office shed / hang out space with a desk, office chair, futon and smart TV - great if you need a quiet space for remote working.

We are a pet friendly cottage, but please be sure to add your fur babies to your booking as we require a pet fee of $40 per stay with a maximum of 2 pets.

Community Impact Program: At Awesome Vacation Homes, Inc. rental properties, every stay gives back. In partnership with Kind Traveler, your stay results in a donation of $1 per night from you to the Friends of Big Bear Alpine Zoo, a licensed wildlife rehabilitation hospital and conservation education center that treats sick, injured and orphaned wildlife in the Big Bear Valley. Your folio will include a line item for “Community Impact Program.” 100% of donations goes to charity. Please contact Awesome Vacation Homes, Inc. directly if you have any questions or concerns.

I can not express how much i loved this property. It was very cozy and welcoming. The location is perfect. Very close to the city but far enough to enjot the peacful quietness that Big Bear has to offer. Property manager was amazing. Excellent customer service and very accommodating. I cant wait for next summer to boom again! I definitely recommend to anyone thinking of booking. Again i really LOVED Kookie Bear's Cottage!!!!! <3

Very good location close to trails and a short drive to the lake. The host leaves pet blankets to drape over furniture to protect it from dog hair. What a nice idea! The back yard is very nice and fully fenced. I was not worried about my pet getting out or other animals entering (it is the mountains after all....coyotes, bobcats, bears) when he lounged around the back while we used the grill and ate at the back table. The neighborhood was quiet. You could hear the wind in the trees. It was exactly what we were looking for.

Little doll house

I had a wonderful stay at Kookie Bears Cottage! They did a beautiful job making this place comfortable & beautiful. I enjoyed sitting on the back deck and watching the birds, under the shady trees. The fenced yard was well secured, even for my tiny dogs. The neighborhood was safe & quiet, with an upscale mountain vibe. The kitchen was well equipped, with the cutest dishes. There was a little back house that could be used as a work from home space, or a gamers lair. I enjoyed the cottage so much, it was close to everything but far from the hustle & bustle of the Village. Favorite nature spot on the lake was nearbyJuniper Point. Nancy was available to answer any questions I had during my stay. I hear they're adding a hot tub next! There is a gas grill and firepit in the backyard. I'd love to come back!

The perfect Big Bear getaway

I came to Kookie Bears Cottage with my dog, hoping for a peaceful writing retreat, and I had just that! The cottage is warm and comfortable, well stocked and well decorated, and the location is great. It's close enough to town to pop out for dinner, yet located in a quiet and safe neighborhood. It was spotless when I arrived. Overall, I have nothing but rave reviews and would love to stay at this cottage again in the future.

Kookie Bear Cottage was great! It was very homey and exactly what we wanted for our weekend getaway! We enjoyed the cottage so much that we plan on making it our yearly mountain destination! It was cozy, yet perfect size for a small family. The kitchen was very accommodating and the neighborhood felt very safe. We can feel the love and care that went in to keeping this place warm and welcome! Thanks to our host, Nancy!
