Further afield, Hastings (5 miles) offers a fantastic day out: ride the Victorian West Hill funicular railway, explore the labyrinth of candlelit caverns at Smugglers Adventure, or take in panoramic coastal views stretching as far as Beachy Head from the hilltop.
