  • Stable cottage has been converted from the old stable block for Spital House. It is all on one level and is situated next to the current stables within the peaceful grounds of a private estate. There is an abundance wildlife you can view from the cottage - deer, badgers, hares and many birds. Perfect place for a quiet getaway.

As a cottage for two this is very spacious, we met up with friends and the lounge & kitchen were more than comfortable for four.We arrived to a clean and homely cottage, very well equipped. Close to Paxton House and the Cross Inn with great beer & good food.

Clean and lovely property in beautiful countryside. Have stayed here three times now and have really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The welcome basket is a lovely thought when you come in the door.

We both loved the location. The property was clean and well equipped for our stay. Lovely spacious rooms. We would use again. There was a damp smell in the property, and a sewerage smell when the back door was open into the kitchen!!. We still had a great stay within the grounds of the estate. And I'm sure Liz the host will look into anything I've mentioned, to improve it for her next guests

The cottage had everything we could possibly have needed, including an impressively equipped kitchen. A very comfortable place to stay and set in beautiful grounds.We will be back.If I have one quibble, it would be that I wouldn't have thought there needed to be a list of things to do before leaving, which to me we always do anyway, and a reminder to wash up etc.

Superb couldn’t fault anything about the cottage, everything is in the property you only need your food. Would definitely return someday.

The house is well equipped in every way- a bit too hot within the cottage but excellent in every wayIt was a pleasant surprise to receive a welcome pack including milk in the fridge Local pub gives excellent evening meals with friendly staff.The pub is only open Wednesday- Sunday evenings.The cottage is situated well to visit place’s of interest .

Beautiful location

Liz the owner welcomed us as we arrived she is lovely, the cottage is very well equipped and the location is so lovely, near to Berwick and surrounding area found it very easily, would recommend it to all.
