Welcome to Driftwood Cottage, a private cozy cottage in a lake community on Great Pond, the largest lake in the Belgrade lakes region.

The home is equipped with a full kitchen, reading loft, spacious deck, and more. Whether you're here to enjoy the lake, ice fish, work, or visit the Belgrade's Golf Course, the premier golf course in the state, this home is the perfect retreat!


As part of #CottagesofMaine, our cozy home invites you to immerse yourself in the wonders of Maine. Bring your snowmobile, boat, or fishing gear and enjoy direct access to Lake Great Pond a 2 minute walk away. Lake Great Pond is filled with trout, salmon, pike, bass, and more.

After indulging in the lake's allure, take a well-deserved break and venture into the charming village of Belgrade. Begin your day with a delicious breakfast from Hello Good Pie, savor a delightful lunch at Day's Store (also home to fantastic souvenirs), and conclude your culinary journey with a satisfying dinner at the local Sunset Grille or Village Tavern.Our location ensures a plethora of activities, with nearby wineries and shops to explore.

Maine Vacation with Family

The home was perfect for family fun kayaking, swimming and boating. The location to Great Pond was great with a beach/launch area we all enjoyed. We brought out Golden Retriever Ruby who learned to swim this week and actually jump off the dock. All of us had a fun week.

The cottage at 8 Bass Lane, Belgrade, ME is lovely in every way. The furnishings are tasteful, comfortable, and in excellent condition. The cottage is bright and spacious and all the appliances are in good condition. The washer and dryer are gigantic; the smart TV is large; and the kitchen is fully equipped and a delight to work in. The outside deck is big and has beautiful furniture with plush cushions. Alana and her husband were attentive and responsive whenever I had a question and responded immediately to assist us in whatever way they could. So why did I give the cottage only a “3” rating? Because we were not on the water. We could view Great Pond but only if we looked across our neighbors grass and between the cottages that were themselves on Great Pond. The cottage is supposed to have a sunset exposure, but it doesn’t because the sunset is off to the side and obscured by tall trees. The owners had two kayaks for our use, but they would have had to be carried at least one-tenth of a mile to the public dock to get them in the water. They were too heavy and awkward for either of us or for our 58 year old son to carry that distance. So, in summary, we loved the cottage but not its surroundings and decided almost immediately that we would not return.

Wonderful cottage

We had a great time at Driftwood Cottage. The location was perfect! We could see the lake from our deck and only had to walk past a few houses to get to the shared beach area. It was very quiet and relaxing. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had almost everything we needed for the week. Alana was very responsive to my questions and needs. The lake is absolutely beautiful. I can honestly say that this was one of the best places we have rented from VRBO.

Perfect spot!

With one kid already in college locally and the other on their way there in August we have got to know this neck of the woods quite well in recent years. Driftwood Cottage provides a perfect base for visits to the area with great access to Augusta and Waterville while sitting in the idyllic Belgrade Lakes region.We don’t visit Maine for fancy, we want practical, comfortable, clean and convenient and this house that in spades. We also greatly appreciated the dog-friendliness!Hosts could not have been more welcoming or communicative. So look out, we could be back soon!Thank you!

Cozy winter stay

Good space for 3 adults and two kids to stay, 25 min commute to Colby college and Quarry Road trails. Couch was comfy and nice for gathering. Beds also comfy and the double bunks were helpful for our group. Plow came quickly after snowstorm. We didn’t get out on the lake due to cold but nice to have it close by.

Clean, Comfortable, Cozy

Accurate listing, great location (easy drive to Augusta for dinner), really peaceful and quiet. GPS had a minor problem right at the end trying to send us through a neighbor's trailer, but we figured it out (the external pictures helped). Loved our stay there, even though it was just overnight on the way to somewhere else. Next time, we'll stay for a week.

The place was nice and clean. The area was quiet. Only two things that were not major… There was no railing to the upstairs. The TV remote was not easy to use and it was confusing to find a channel to watch. Other than that, it was a great place to stay.

Good place to stay

Everything went well with our stay. Alana was timely and helpful in all our communications. The property was clean and exactly as presented in the listing. My wife is handicapped with mobility issues and found getting around was no problem. The only challenge for us was using the TV, since we are not up on the latest technology. We also aren’t familiar with the immediate area which made it harder for us to find alternatives to our planned outside activities on rainy days.

Fishing trip

This cute home has it all… it’s clean.. all the comforts of home!! Myself and 3 of my sisters did a girls weekend!! We didn’t need a thing we may of forgotten to bring but the owners did a tremendous job of making sure the kitchen has all you may need!! Every attention to detail was recognized!! Thanks Alana! We came to go ice fishing

We were very pleased with our stay here. Alana was very quick to respond to all messages before and during our stay. The house had everything we needed while we were here. Plenty of parking and easy access to the lake for a day of ice fishing. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Recently stayed at this cottage for an ice fishing trip. Perfect spot, easy to access the lake. The cottage itself is a very nice place, clean, plenty of space for a small group. I would book this stay again in the future.
